  1. I want to remove this double-sided sticky stuff which someone used to stick these flaps on. I've tried scalpel and then lighter-fluid and then flew to Neptune on the back of a white swan. So I opened the window and took some deep breaths. You can see I took a bit off at the top edge but it took a bleedin' age. The double-sided stuff is clearly bodywork grade as it just does not want to shift. At least not with lighter-fluid. Can anyone suggest a solvent which might take the sticky gunk off but not melt the rubber? TIA

If anyone wondered why we were reluctant to continue working with the Twinz over their body kit designs last year, the last update on the Z1 site is a clear indicator why, pre-orders started in November 2012 and only this month (April 2013) more than 4 months later is there any hope of customers seeing the product, given the HUGE market for z32 stuff in the US it just would not work in the UK on that basis, they need to commit to manufacturing a stock level without pre-orders, imaging ordering your food from Tesco`s whilst they....grow it! or TV from ASDA while it is been manufactured with a 50% upfront deposit I bet there is a few nervous buyers waiting to see if Z1 is…

This is the 99 spec front fasica except the indicator housing are able to accept the stock 89 spec indicators. http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_12&products_id=5996 I for one would be happier to fit that as it means I don't have to buy those damn expensive 99 spec side repeaters.

good news and some bad. Bad. My zed is at the garage having all new sills and arches replaced by a mate. they have been doing the passenger side completely between other jobs, but for the last month the car has been jacked up on the drivers side wheels only, not been started and no battery connected. Nearly finished the drivers side now, but its now jacked on the passengers side, when they had all four wheels on the floor, connected battery and started instantly, no issues, even took it round the block and made sure all was good. But for some reason, when its turned off, with key removed, the fuel pump is still working, remove battery, all stops. remove fuel …

might be a stupid question, but they are not listed in any of our manuals at work. i know the TT have a safe boost get home mode, but do NA's have anything similar? when i was out in my zed noticed i have a damaged knock sensor harness, and the ecu is reading an error. when my TT did this it limped, but will it be affecting the NA?

Last night i noticed the car over revving slightly and steam coming from the engine bay. This was only after a 5 min drive. I left it until this morning when cool, and i had to put nearly 5ltrs of water back into the rad. I looked under the car and water was dripping. Does anyone know were it could be leaking from? Cheers

Is there a tips & tricks section that I've not seen on here yet? Workshops etc. , that sort of thing. For example, I concocted something up the other week that I'm sure would be useful to other Zedders....during an issue with my zed that transpired to be a faulty MAF, I discovered that the mounting plate for my k&n filter was cracked at the base where the bolts go through. Only 2 of the bolts were holding it on cos the plastic had fractured. Priced up a replacement mounting plate on eBay and was all set to depart with a few quid when I came up with an idea.......went outside, cut the air filter end off my old MAF, sanded it down to get rid of any loose plastic &am…

The Zeds been parked in the garage and only driven to the shops everynow and then. I drove it this morning and noticed the stock oil pressure gauge was sat on 0 for the full 10min drive. I've got aftermarket Option gauges which was sat on the max 100psi reading throughout! I checked oil levels which look good and no leaks etc anywhere that I can see. The car drove fine as well. Should I be worries? Likely just an issue with the sender unit? I didn't fit the aftermarket gauge so not familiar with how/where to check it but was planning to drive the car tomorrow for a bit longer so wanted to check with the knowledgeable folk on here whether I should be worried abou…

I was curious is it possible to get decat performance without the loud amounts of noise? I have cat exhaust but the rear piece is custom and i find it rather loud already!! Can you maybe get exhausts that are quieter at lower revs and sound louder when reved harder? I was reading up and heard it can be achieved with certain resonator or something... If anyone with better expertise could shed some light on this matter, it would be great. Do japspeed do exhausts with cats in them for the 300zx?

I have finally got round to replacing my throttle position sensor, the car now runs really smooth, except for every once in a while. All of a sudden the throttle will go from being extremely sensitive to an almost switch, power is either on or off. After a little while it soon sorts itself back out (or if I set cruise control). Have I replaced it with yet another faulty tps, I should try and clean connectors, what is the best way to do this? Thanks, Dan

Ok, so after a total of 8 or so hours we have managed to change the nearside turbo on my Z. For the passed 2 years or so it had been smoking on tickover (worse when warm). Touch wood, so far, it seems to be a lot better. I have left it running for well over ten minutes whilst the engine is hot several times and nothing yet. However, last night when the car was cold about 2 miles from home I pulled up to a set of lights and there it was, some smoke from the exhaust. When it was safe to pull over i did and let it tickover once again to confirm if it was the same side, but nothing. It wouldnt smoke for the rest of the night... It definatly seems better but am…

This Sunday I am going to change my manual transmission fluid and diff oil. Which oils do you recommend? Also, certain manufacturers have specific things to do after changing diff oil ( TSB for e46 M3 is to drive the car in circles 15-20 times) Is there anything similar for Nissan 300ZX?
