Any ideas of the best way to go about tackling these, ive tried drilling through one and using larger size drill bits to increase the hole, but the only one that managed to get through was a tiny one, the others are just going blunt (HSS cobalt Dewalt drill bits :( ). drivers side needs 1 drilling out, one stud actually undone, and one nut came off as normal, passenger side how ever, 2 snapped 1 undone as normal. I can not for the life of me get this damn drill bit to eat the stud that's in there, so at the moment, my clutch change is on hold. i want to get these elbows sorted while the gearbox is off the car as i have more room to play with. I have a stud extr…

Hi guys, Ok, I've got an aftermarket radiator that I want to swap with the current standard one. I was just wondering if it will be a straight swap. I am aware that the top mounts won't fit, but am unsure if there are any problems with anything else. Any help will be appreciated, cheers.

So finally, after spending several hours cutting away more and more rotten steel; wondering where it would end and what I'd be left with to rebuild I came across a Zed in a breakers locally. Personally I think I got a great deal, though I am annoyed that they cut the wire harnesses with a hacksaw...something I didn't notice originally as I was too concerned about looking for rot. Anyway - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10200455308479029.1073741825.1046268565&type=1&l=1c32d0655b My rotten Z can be seen if you follow the link below. Can't wait to get stuck in! Edit - Oh, BTW, this Z came from South Shields, and judging my th…

Hi guys, When I got my z it had a leaking main seal which I noticed after a few days of owning it, but no smoking when cold or hot. Purchased during the warm period we had last april. I must have made around 5 short journey before parking up for the summer as I was away working from May to October. On returning I noticed the car started smoking a little blue smoke on startup from cold, but went away after 10 seconds of starting. After using for a few weeks (car is only driven for domestic use) I noticed it started smoking a little more and rear main leak (assumed) got worse, then developed lifter tick. Assuming a buildup of sludge from sitting to be the cause …

I'm dropping my rear subframe and have been considering replacing the bushes, I've done a search and it seems the general consensus is that they are a nightmare to replace. What makes the job such a pita and does anyone have any advice to make it easier? Also, various old threads suggest several different options of bushes that need spacers, some the just fit no probs. What are your experiences with different types of these as far as the final product is concerned? I'd rather not fit solid ones or spacers but any advice welcomed. CheerZ

Hi guys, got another question for anybody who can help....been trying to find a fix to a minor fault I've got with my speedo (1992 JDM 2+2 TT). When I power on the ignition (but not firing it up) the speedo rises to just under 10mph. It then seems to read this distance higher at all speeds as I am driving....downloaded GPS speedo app for my iPhone and checked with TomTom. Does anybody know what might cause the needle to rise like this before I even start moving/fire it up? I'm ruling out the speed sensor (maybe wrongly) on the grounds that the cogs aren't even turning when this happens. The clocks are obvs not JDM because they show mph to about 110 with kmh inlaid also (…

Hi guys, had my 1992 Z32 JDM 2+2 TT Auto for about 2 months. Bought from a car lot as a non-warranteed part-x clearance car. Had a couple of issues but nothing that was a deal-breaker and bartered what I felt was a fair price at £1700 with 6mths tax & 12mths MOT. Body work is very tidy and leather trim is in good nick.....Managed to cure a few issues so far without much mither (faulty MAF and dodgy rear shocks). Motor seems fine and starts, runs, pulls well without smoking etc. Got a bit Got a question regarding correct keys......was given 2 for it, a red one and a black one. The black one will open the doors but not do the ignition. The red will do the ignition but n…

Now im pretty sure about this but wanted to make certain. I have someone interested in my manual conversion kit, they have a N/A my gearbox is a TT with all TT parts. Am i right in thinking that the only issue comes from fitting a N/A gearbox to a TT and not TT gearbox to N/A.

Hey Guys, Didn't find anything by searching maybe i was not searching right anyways. Wanted to ask what are the common things that you can get rid of to make the engine bay a lot more cleaner and the car a less pain in the rear end to work on. I am talking about any systems or pipes etc that can be removed and that it doesn't effect the car severely or in its safety features! Cheers!

This is not a for sale thread and not quite a wanted thread! I have a CZP rad bracket (the one with holes in from the pic above) that I have just removed to fit the CZP oem style brackets for my Koyo. However, I like the way the 1piece bracket covers the top of the rad and the front of the core so I might fit it back on. Here's the thing though, I'm not a big fan of bling, I prefer a functional stock looking arrangement so will probably paint or brush the bracket before I fit it. I'd rather do this to one without the holes so this thread is to see if anyone wants to swap their bracket for this one? (any brand assuming its similar to the pic above withou…

Ok, I'm halfway through leathering (is that a word?) the interior, due to one of the previous owners deciding that it was a good idea to "paint" all of the vinyled surfaces in the car..... It wasn't. Anyway, when stripping down the door cards I find that where the seatbelt goes through the doorcard there is a cut in the seam to allow the seatbelt to be slid out. As I am unable to check on the car itself, what I would like to know is, is the cut supposed to be there or can I fix it and still thread the seatbelt through afterwards? Cheers

I've been spending time getting things on my car right, reliable and manual. After the usual service items ive refreshed all the water pipes round the back, deleted all the rubbish and all that sensible stuff. Then I've fitted an uprated rad, uprated oil cooler, the auto turbos have been rebuilt with 360 degree trust bearings and step gapped oil seals, divorced down pipes, 2.5" decats, 2.5" catback . The car recently produced 286bhp and 277ftlb @ 5.4k rpm. So here's the question... what's next? obviously a chip and boost increase, id like to see around 370/380 fwhp so what do I need to amass and do to get it to that point. Ultimately I would like around 450bhp but that…
