Ok, I'm halfway through leathering (is that a word?) the interior, due to one of the previous owners deciding that it was a good idea to "paint" all of the vinyled surfaces in the car..... It wasn't. Anyway, when stripping down the door cards I find that where the seatbelt goes through the doorcard there is a cut in the seam to allow the seatbelt to be slid out. As I am unable to check on the car itself, what I would like to know is, is the cut supposed to be there or can I fix it and still thread the seatbelt through afterwards? Cheers

I've been spending time getting things on my car right, reliable and manual. After the usual service items ive refreshed all the water pipes round the back, deleted all the rubbish and all that sensible stuff. Then I've fitted an uprated rad, uprated oil cooler, the auto turbos have been rebuilt with 360 degree trust bearings and step gapped oil seals, divorced down pipes, 2.5" decats, 2.5" catback . The car recently produced 286bhp and 277ftlb @ 5.4k rpm. So here's the question... what's next? obviously a chip and boost increase, id like to see around 370/380 fwhp so what do I need to amass and do to get it to that point. Ultimately I would like around 450bhp but that…

Well a year has nearly passed and my £500 Zed will be sorted for summer, I purchased a wide arch demon kit and nearly sold it to which I am so glad I didn't because as of this weekend I will be having this fitted. I sold my Zenon front bumper as I felt this didn't suit the rear bumper so I'm on the look out for a front bumper. I'm going to keep her silver and have stuck on a set of 19"s which do require a refurb so hopefully fingers crossed will be in a position to show her to you guys within the next two months. Here's a before pic Wish me luck fellas

  7. Hi all, Another post has prompted me to ask this (and steel the photo too! :D) Can I check with your good selves, are these the only bolts I need to remove to drop the rear subframe (in red)? - I realise that I'll need to unbolt the rear struts also. I'm hoping to do this tomorrow, or Monday. I realise It's probably a good time to change the bushes, but from what I've read it's a nightmare removing them, is a press required to insert the new ones? I was going to swap this rear subframe assembly (from my NA, with an NA diff) onto a series one turbo shell. However, the turbo shell I'm getting on Tuesday will have all this intact, so is there a…

So, it's been a car weekend so far, and I thought to myself, of all the cars I've had I always forget to get a picture 'with' them. So here are my cleaned cars :D And although you can't see it, I painted my calipers and disc centres today, as well as touching up the front bumper a tad.... :) Planning on attacking the wheels tomorrow if the weather holds :S

Noticed my gauge keeps jumping while driving, ive checked connection and it seems fine. But another thing ive noticed is my heating dont go that hot it sort of works up to 24 degrees but dont go any warmer. and the heater matrix was changed a few months ago so dont know if those faults are linked. Any ideas guys, much appreciated.

I have recently swapped out my OEM downpipes for Japspeed stainless ones, leaving only the cast elbows with catalytic material. I then fitted 2 new 02 sensors. (both existing ones were tested to be dud.) No big deal I thought. So decided to tax her and take her for a spin. Once warm, I could not resist giving her some beans on a familiar stretch of road. WOW what a difference, it really did catch me by surprise! the rear started twitching through second and third and the sensation of raw speed was amazing. Had to back out of it and tucked her away in the garage to calm down. How could this really have made such a difference?

Cylinder 1 = 145 PSI Cylinder 2 = 145 PSI Cylinder 3 = 145 PSI Cylinder 4 = 155 PSI Cylinder 5 = 140 PSI Cylinder 6 = 145 PSI On releasing pressure from the gauge on cylinder 4 fuel sprayed all over my window screen then when i took the gauge out complete fuel dripping off the bottom of the gauge when pressure released again fuel sprayed all over the garage floor! What would cause the car to kangaroo? That's the best explanation I have or it anyway. Often when I'm slowing doen in gear, or perhaps tickling the throttle at fairly low speeds, it feels like the car (or engine at least) is kangarooing so to speak. Any ideas what would cause this?

  24. Can anyone confirm that this looks like the appropriate approach per the instructions for these energy suspension rear subframe bushes? Looks as if the rubber is going to give way before the bushing even thinks about moving ... Instructions say: Push from bottom towards top ... push on inner sleeve ... do not press out collar which had rubber ring bonded to it ... so this looks like correct approach? Press: Instructions: Thanks

  25. I really like the idea of getting some wheel spacers for when i fit my coilovers. unsure of size yet but was liking the idea of 25mm for the front, and 15mm for the back. However two of my friends are trying their hardest to talk me out of it. both are mechanics and one of which is an m.o.t tester so i am inclined to say they know what they're on about. They believe it is a bad idea due to the extra stress they would put on wheel bearings, as well as the extra inertia due to the weight that would make it harder to break. when i said they would be aluminium from eBay that convinced them even less claiming they'd be week as piss. I also had a major problem with wheel shake …
