Most of you will know of the problems I have been having with turbos this last few months since I got my engine swapped Having decided to replace with new upgraded turbos, everything is now here and ready for fitting..... special thanks to 111mattin111 for the second hand 5-bolt downpipes at a nice price ;0 So here are my GTX2860R turbos straight from the US of A I'm not an expert on these things, but Steve at Siverline who sourced them for me tells me that the impeller half of the housing is a special custom one quite like the 'stock' Garretts so they fit straight onto the car without any adaptation. This is an option that is available in the US (but not …

I am desperately trying to find a part that i need to get through my MOT. The garage can only get it from Nissan, who estimate it will be some time in December! If anyone can point me in the right direction, or has one from a breaker they can sell i would be very happy. The ball joint needs replacing and aparantly it cant be bought separately - so the whole of the "Offside Front Bottom Suspension Arm" needs replacing. The part number is 5450037P00 Almost forgot, the car is a '93 LWB import NA. Thanks.

Here's the damage from earlier, I must insist no mention of my cars value is NOT to be mentioned in an open forum for insurance purposes. Thanks. So that being said how much do we think this lot will cost. The rear panel is fubar! The metal panel below is huge and goes all the way round to the doors so that's un replaceable the rear bumper is also a bit of a mess and isn't straight anymore.

Can someone tell me the size/gauge of the wires for both the injector and coil packs please? I've had what seems like the inevitable "working perfectly last time I used the Z - now it's missing on one cylinder" experience and I've decided to take the plunge in recognition of the fact that I'm dealing with a 21-year old car. If one of whatever-it-is has gone wrong, there's another five waiting in the wings... Yep; I wouldn't mind betting it's just a corroded connection or brittle wire somewhere but I've gone overboard and ordered a Series 2 PTU; 6 coil pack plug/looms; 6 injector plug/looms and 6 new spark plugs. Together with a replacement hose set for when I have to…

Hi Mark, Re our telephone conversation today here is the link to a drivers side manifold gasket change I did earlier this year ( with pics ) I know you just changing the turbo but should give you some pointers hopefully, in this thread I removed the booster and brake master cylinder as the manifold was coming off, for the turbo you could just undo the master cylinder and gently move it aside. Thought i`d do it cold as the bugger wont run until its hot so my thinking was see whats going on when cold. Not looking good, all over the shop as far as psi tolerances are concerned. My results are cyl1: 145 cyl2: 145 cyl3:130 cyl4:130 cyl5:140 cyl6:120 Double checked today..same results I know thermal expansion would make a difference but its a 25psi difference between 1 and 6. I have a bit of smoke every now and then..the plenum always has a puddle in it. The Sparks are all looking healthy although do seem to have oily threads but no sign of burning oil on the plug itself. So i`m guessing my next course of action should be a warm wet test and see what diff…

Ok my car has been hit in the rear while parked up. Just after some advice for when I call the insurance company (admiral is mine). I have to go back and see the person that hit it after 5 oclock. Does anyone know what I'm likely to get as a payout for the zed?? Can I buy the car back to break it after we've sorted a payout. Thanks.

Hi all, I need to do head gasket on the old girl. I know the best way is to pull the engine but I haven't got the space to do it. I'm on a small drive with no rear access so everything has to stay in car or go through house to shed :( I see from the online manual that it can be done with the engine in but was wondering if anyone on here has actually done it and what, if any, problems they had. Cheers Nick.

not had much time to drive car yet cas when i did drive it over to my brothers garage for mot the first junction when i placed my fooy on the floor the pedal deisapeard and i lost my brakes ,but hey thats been rectified fitting new brakes pipes everywere. But i noticed that althought the clutch wasnt sliping parsay it didnt seem to go into like first gear smooth like i had to dip the clutch again to get it in. When i had some other work done on the car back in the summer, i did aske for the clutch to be bleed but this might well have been missed due to other things going on. and prior to that i replaced the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder and im no machanic…

Hi, I have an issue which is worrying me at the moment concerning my build with the following major items. Wiseco pistons, eagle rods. cometic HG, Z1 GT675 turbo kit. Had a reputable machine shop do some machining for me and took delivery yesterday for starting the assembly. I asked for the block to rebored to suit my 88mm Wisecos as well as the decking of the block to be trued and finished (AR50) for Cometic (.045"/1.2mm) mls head gaskets. All looked good until I checked to see that I got my original block back by checking the engine numbers and ...well the engine numbers are very feint to gone and worried that too much has been taken off. Any suggestions here…

Was working on the zed for about 4 hours today and all I did was get the exhaust off ! Going on from my zed being on axle stands for 6 months thread, I took another bash at getting the exhaust off today and after many cuts and bruised knuckles its finally free. In the end its just brute force and some rust penetrating spray to ease the bolts out. When it finally broke free I discovered the right back box was actually damaged and is not so far from falling off its hooks too. Its a big bloody thing as it came off my last zed and as far as I was told is a custom build. Anyways here's some pics of the beast :

Have been asked about the H1 main beam headlight bulb replacement a couple of times recently and also saw some confusion here about the H1 type due to it been fitted into an adapter before fitted to the headlight. So took a few pics and hopefully will help expain what you need to know about changing the bulb and understanding the adapter. So pic one shows the rubber cover in place, picture two shows how to release the bulb holder from the headlight by pinching the two small "wings" in at the bottom. Picture three shows the bulb been released and also look carefully you can see how green the connectors are to the bulb holder, this is a problem p…

After having a look under the car and getting the battery out I have determined the source of the leak, and thankfully it's not the manifold. It appears that the leak is from the pipe union. I managed to remove the battery then connect it up with some jump leads and run it. couldn't really see much coming out of it, but I could get my hand in and feel it. The pipe was black around the leak which was a big giveaway too. So what is the best way to remedy this, and how much has to come apart in the process. Is there any preventative maintenance or even upgrades which would make sense to get done at the same time? There is a video I too…

Is it a reasonable DIY job to remove and refit the rear windscreen? Or is it something better left to a professional? I have a patch of rust that I want to sort over the winter and it's unfortunately right on the edge of the rear screen. I'd rather take it out so I can make sure there's none lurking beneath the rubber. Any advice? Or would I be better off trying to source a rust-free bootlid...?
