Do i need the whole prop ect ect. and is it a major job? what im thinking is if also this gets rid of the hicas aswell? So im thinking of getting a rear end with hopefully all the bits i need then i can srtip it down i n the spring have a little hamarite jobby. and replace all the bushes ect before fitting. I know that a few people have swapped their TT rear subframe and diff for an NA one... but is it possible to simply swap the diff assembly itself from a TT into an NA subframe...?

Just had a thought, when working on zeds the bonnet angle can be a pain when working at the back of the engine, now for many, many years I have moved the bonnet back past the small little stops which leaves the bonnet leading away from the engine bay and gives a huge amount of extra access and light. What does surprise me is how many customers are amazed when they see them like that and so about time I made it public!! now lots of you may already know of course but hopefully helpful to those that do not. So lift the bonnet till it stops, unplug the water washer pipe, now rock the bonnet against the stops back and forward a few times and it will go past the stops…

Anyone who has worked or tried to work down the back of the zed engine knows that the space between the bulkead and the engine is at a premium. Unfortunately there are a lot water pipes down there and when they need attention it cam be a royal pain but even the metal water pipes from the engine to the heater matrix can loose the corrosion battle. The pictures give a little indication what is involved to remove the steel pipes, with the exception of the missing skin of the back of my hand but hey that goes with the territory! Could not take a picture when my hands were down there but believe me it was tight to get the drivers side pipe fixings as they turn back …

Had to take the zed out for a trip today, only to get a bloody nail in my tyre! Took it to the only place open.... Kwikfit! The one place I didn't ever want to go to. Turns out they were actually quite helpful (slightly anyway). Luckily they had only 1 tyre in stock the right size so took that even though I can hardly spare the cash at the moment. Thought that while I was there, I'd ask them to take a quick look over the car while it was up in the air. Only reason being because it was feeling a bit loose at the back end earlier. Turns out that the drivers side rear wheel has a bit of movement, that's as much help as I got though. In his actual words " don't know w…

Hi! Looking for an answer to something that seems embarrassingly simple - how to unclip the injector connectors? I'm in the early stages of trying to locate the cause of a single-cylinder misfire and I've bought 6 new injector and coil pack connectors and leads , plus new plugs and other goodies not connected with the misfire. Started OK today but in the process of changing the plugs and wiggling connectors in the vain hope that I could a simple answer I took a look at one of the new injector connectors so I'd understand how to remove the existing ones. Nothing complicated - just the usual metal clip, but it looks as if you need 3 hands to remove the connec…

A friend sent me this picture today. Clearly it's photoshopped but I personally think it looks quite good (certainly different). So which one of you out there would know how to go about making a light panel like this one?

Hello everyone, I have just joined the forum to get help with a real problem on my 300zx. firstly ill describe the car: 1990 300 zx twin turbo 100,000 miles Twin decats twin cone air filters Horsham developments remap That about sums up the car, now for the issue. I recently got the car remapped at Horsham developments, car was fine but I was told that a small misfire was detected. the car drove fine back home, all was well until 2 days later. I put my foot down to make it through an amber light and when the car boosted around 5k rpm, the boost cut and the rpm went all over the place with the engine cutting soon afterwards. the engine wouldnbt start for abou…

....But for the first time today, my ZX decided to break down:shock: As it was a dry sunny day, I thought it would be nice to take it with me on a trip to my folks. I was driving along happily as usual; and as I reached the bottom of the entry slip onto the A41 dual carriageway, the engine cut out. I pulled over to the left and tried a couple of times to restart it - but no. It turned over well enough, but it just would not fire up:sad: I called the RAC; who were very helpful. Even before I had to say anything, the RAC lady said that their patrol would have absolutely no idea what to do with a 300zx and agreed the best course of action was to send a recovery tru…

Hi guys, after having my engineering done on my block and heads, 88mm bores, block and head decking I needed to determine the new compressioin ratio as I was worried that it may be too high. I measured the combustion chamber which measured 48.5cc (stock is 49.5cc) as this was the only unknown value. The rest of the values I had and entered all this data into the compression ratio calculator resulting in a comp ratio of 8.9033 :1 I would like to know from those with experience if this comp ratio is acceptable as I will be running gt2860rs turbos, 700cc injectors, large side mounts and Nistune. I am of the opinion it would be fine just would like your comment. Thanks

today has been a very bad day as the z has been involved in a crash. luckily no one else involved, but just bad circumstance road conditions for a rear wheel drive car. Police have recovered it and its 100% a complete write off. So my zx days are done. have got some spare parts that if anyone needs them they are free to collect as wont be needing them anymore. Also happily noone been hurt not even so much as a scratch. Not got any pics tho before anyone asks for them, lol. just a bad day overall.
