Forgive me Lord for i have been stupid...just finnished spending 2 nights changing my water pump after thinking it would be ok to re-fit my old one during a plenum delete and cambelt change. WRONG:wacko:...the extra tension of the belt on the re-build must have just been enough to finnish off the seal and the inner weep hole started to have a piss all over my garage floor.Dont make my mistake guys when your deep in there doing a belt service as i should know better.

Firstly - VG purists will hate this thread. I've heard it all before so no need to bang on about how I'm.committing a sin etc etc. I love my slicktop. I got it for a steal, so there's no way I'm selling it to buy a TT so forget that option. So with all that in mind, when my house extension and garage workshop are complete next year, I'll be pulling the VG and replacing it. What would people have and why? So fat I have these choices VH45DE LS1 RB VQ35DE or HR VQ30DET. All have been done by others, so all are possible. Some are easier than others obviously. Cost wise - for engine and gearbox and loom they all work out roughly the…

Hi guys, Hoping my zed should be ready to pick up Saturday, I've had my zed sprayed few times before, but I've always had plain white. So this time I've gone for a strange audi colour its called suzuka grey pearl effect, It comes on the r8, and rs5, and special order. I've never seen it in real life, except for a sprayout, looks white in the light, grey/silver in darker conditions, Heres a couple of pics of the an audi with the colour, do u think it will suit a z im getting scared now lol...

Anyone ever fitted 3point rear seatbelts in a Jdm series 1? Is there pre tapped holes in the body for the mounts etc? I reckon there's probably not. Looking to fit a child seat in if possible.

This is not backed up by proper research, just a comment. Back in the last century, I had an MG Midget and really wanted an MGB GT but it was just out of reach. A £3k - £5k one would have been nice and not a basket case but just too £££. Fast forward a decade (still last century) and after a bunch of company cars, I could buy a car for me. I know, must be able to afford an MGB, maybe an MGB V8 by now, they were only a few k when I wanted one. Look on MGOC etc and bloody nora, a decent one now £8k - £10k min. OK, I thought, let's have a look at other "classics" of the same era. Hang on, wasn't there a Datsun something or other and so there was. Started looking at 240…

I was sent some 99 tail copies to repair and boy they were rough on arrival so I experimented with some new ideas/products. Turned out rather well methinks, there was a lot of work as I had to practically start from scratch, one of the backs was creamy and the other white inside so these had both needed to be sprayed gloss white and baked . Here they are alongside some genuine units... I must admit I'm struggling looking at them again in that above pic, the one on the very right is genuine for sure . This next pic as one of each, matching pair you could say !! For the first time I chrome wrapped the inserts to mimic. …

Its seems well known that the oil pressure unit / sender thingy on the 300zx is sheit, so what do people use instead, an aftermarket jobby or an inline gauge or poss booth?

Look at this photo, directly under the bolt highlighted in green there is a blank in the turbo oil feed. Mine didn't have one as that was the feed used for the old turbos but it seems to be an oddball size between M8/M10. I will have to get one from Mike but im wondering what it's purpose is? Second question is i've just mounted the turbos and the oil drain pipes don't line up with the tubes on the sump, they are sitting slightly lower. Is that normal? I've got MSP manifolds so im wondering if they have placed the turbos off, has anyone experienced this?

I popped down to Lee Dents place with 300zx_666 yesterday, thanks for driving Ian, to see how my car was progressing. Engine was removed to do a number of jobs but is now nearly ready to go back in. Found a number of problems from 2 destroyed engine mounts to melted and bypassed knock sensor, however important stuff like compression test and injector readings were all ok. Thanks Lee for the tea and butties, your doing a fantastic job
