Hiya folks, looking for some opinions from folks that have done the delete. Currently my EGR valve leaks over a bar so the boost is standard, pulling my plenum shortly and am going to either replace the valve and pipe work or delete it, so my question is..... Fuel consumption on long cruising journeys, much difference noticed in MPG from a functional valve to no valve?? Any other downside to the delete? , cheers.

Hi all, I just had the honour of being overtaken and to follow a beautifully sounding red Z from stevenage junction on a1m and up gunnleswood Road. Unfortunately I was borrowing a little 1.6 astra at the time so couldn't really keep up or give any obvious indication that I was a Z owner. Frustrating because if my Z hadn't been blocked in I would have been in the same spot, same time, different car. So if it was you, and your local, would love to meet up and have a chat one day! Cheers Alex

Hi guys, Just got her MOTd. Very happy she went through first time as it is our first MOT together. Few advisories, which would be grand to have some advice on as one of them I have never come across before... main question is how bad are these, and could any of them lend themselves to the car pulling to the left?.. see attached image. The rear rack ball joint (as far as i grasped from my mechanic) was a central ball joint which had some movement, does that sound right? and is it worth locking the hicas to stop these issues happening? Hope it isn't too large job. best, William.

Most of you will know of the problems I have been having with turbos this last few months since I got my engine swapped Having decided to replace with new upgraded turbos, everything is now here and ready for fitting..... special thanks to 111mattin111 for the second hand 5-bolt downpipes at a nice price ;0 So here are my GTX2860R turbos straight from the US of A I'm not an expert on these things, but Steve at Siverline who sourced them for me tells me that the impeller half of the housing is a special custom one quite like the 'stock' Garretts so they fit straight onto the car without any adaptation. This is an option that is available in the US (but not …

Right as you might be aware i took my car for mot last tuesday and thats weres its been all week having the brakes pipes done. so with a new mot today rather than take her home the two mile journey it took me 14 miles home to get the feel of her again after all these years. i did stop of at the local wilco stores and poued in a bottle hydrolic tappat lifter stuff cas one was a bit tappy when cold . then when on way thought id give her a little boot and i have a little blue smoke puff out the back. now the oil is new and coulnt give it any beans round the ring road. when fininished givent the beans done the last couple miles norm then ran the car for two mins before flic…

  17. I am desperately trying to find a part that i need to get through my MOT. The garage can only get it from Nissan, who estimate it will be some time in December! If anyone can point me in the right direction, or has one from a breaker they can sell i would be very happy. The ball joint needs replacing and aparantly it cant be bought separately - so the whole of the "Offside Front Bottom Suspension Arm" needs replacing. The part number is 5450037P00 Almost forgot, the car is a '93 LWB import NA. Thanks.

Here's the damage from earlier, I must insist no mention of my cars value is NOT to be mentioned in an open forum for insurance purposes. Thanks. So that being said how much do we think this lot will cost. The rear panel is fubar! The metal panel below is huge and goes all the way round to the doors so that's un replaceable the rear bumper is also a bit of a mess and isn't straight anymore.

Can someone tell me the size/gauge of the wires for both the injector and coil packs please? I've had what seems like the inevitable "working perfectly last time I used the Z - now it's missing on one cylinder" experience and I've decided to take the plunge in recognition of the fact that I'm dealing with a 21-year old car. If one of whatever-it-is has gone wrong, there's another five waiting in the wings... Yep; I wouldn't mind betting it's just a corroded connection or brittle wire somewhere but I've gone overboard and ordered a Series 2 PTU; 6 coil pack plug/looms; 6 injector plug/looms and 6 new spark plugs. Together with a replacement hose set for when I have to…

Hi Mark, Re our telephone conversation today here is the link to a drivers side manifold gasket change I did earlier this year ( with pics ) I know you just changing the turbo but should give you some pointers hopefully, in this thread I removed the booster and brake master cylinder as the manifold was coming off, for the turbo you could just undo the master cylinder and gently move it aside. Thought i`d do it cold as the bugger wont run until its hot so my thinking was see whats going on when cold. Not looking good, all over the shop as far as psi tolerances are concerned. My results are cyl1: 145 cyl2: 145 cyl3:130 cyl4:130 cyl5:140 cyl6:120 Double checked today..same results I know thermal expansion would make a difference but its a 25psi difference between 1 and 6. I have a bit of smoke every now and then..the plenum always has a puddle in it. The Sparks are all looking healthy although do seem to have oily threads but no sign of burning oil on the plug itself. So i`m guessing my next course of action should be a warm wet test and see what diff…

Ok my car has been hit in the rear while parked up. Just after some advice for when I call the insurance company (admiral is mine). I have to go back and see the person that hit it after 5 oclock. Does anyone know what I'm likely to get as a payout for the zed?? Can I buy the car back to break it after we've sorted a payout. Thanks.
