I put some of Smithies hard pipes on and now I'm getting code 33 on hard boost. According to the diags it could be: Harness and connector - where r they? fuel pressure injectors intake leaks. I assume that it is the last one, but I have tightened up everything and still the same - any ideas? Also, when they say left side - do they mean drivers or passangers? Cheers Vijay

Sorry guys! that old chestnut again. Neved had detonation before. Added a scramble switch at the weekend to give me 5 seconds of 1.3 bar (bit cheeky on stock injectors I know!). Tried it out and got a bit of detting, eased off immediately and now the damned car won't boost to the maximum 1 bar I had previously used OK without detting :-( Could this be plug tip damage or similar caused by my initial scramble boost madness?? '90 Jap Auto TT, Blitz SUS, SE chip and Apex'i AVC-R **standard exhaust** One other point of note, set the AVC-R up to use gear based learning and feedback 'properly' at the weekend. I have to say the boost is overshooting 1 bar a bit... …

Parked up this evening at Tescos for a few supplies, and not 30 feet away was a Z31. First time I've seen one 'in the flesh', so to speak. Um, that's it.

Thanks to everyone for the help on the lights question. I have tried the lights, they all work but the normal driving lights are poor. I was recommneded to upgrade from 55w to 100w. I had a look at powerbulbs.com - there are loads of bulbs. Can somebody recommend some. The site says i need type H4 for a 300ZX (does that hold for a jap import? - is it a case of just plugging them in?) Powerbulbs is offering Philips, Ring or Osram but the site does not say what wattage they are... Are these types legal? Did i hear about some bulbs being illegal? Thanks Barry

Iain you've fitted an auxilary oil sender gauge. What sender did you use to screw above the oil filter as a ford one is too long. Cheers harve. & other members you know with the wrong senders.

But having read some of today's posts, I have to go for a vote : WHO IS THE MOST ANNOYING PERSON ON THE FORUM ? I'm going for Banzai followed by AY666 (or whatever his name is). Banzai has to win though because I have to admit to agreeing with one or two of AY's posts ! Dave P.S. How far is this thread gonna go before closure

Hallo peeps - this is one of those questions which I've been meaning to ask for ages. Prompted by another thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/ubbforum/Forum1/HTML/008950.html from civic which mentions that his speedo needle takes a long time to come back down. So does mine - it always has. No I haven't had any converter added (just a new mph face sticker on the OEM kph clocks). You can be thrashing along merrily at an indicated "lots", come up to a lower speed limit, brake and/or trail the throttle. The revs dip and dip but the speedo needle seems glued to the speed you were doing before you lifted off. After what seems like an age, it lazily drifts back down.…

I have been looking for a place which can check the body alignment of my Z. We've had a full laser 4 wheel alignment done after the installation of a new HICAS bit. But the camber on one of the wheels is a tad (more than a gnat's but less than a lot) out. So we need to check the chassis alignment. I've been told I need to find a digital measuring jig (to be found at a big modern bodyshop) but tracking one of these down is not easy. The local Nelson gave me their three bodyshops but not one of them could do this. NMGB had no list / no idea / no interest. My local corrugated iron & portakabin bodyshop said "yes we'll do it on our jig to within 2mm" but t…
