After nipping out in the Zed at lunchtime, I thought about upgrading the stock brakes - currently running standard discs and EBC greenstuff pads. The only kit I can find is the Tarox 330mm one for £1395ish - are there any other kits around that aren't quite as expensive? Any recommendations/help? Ta

Hi All, Checked my coolant level for the first time in a while yesterday. Needed about 1/2 litre to top it up and the cap/neck had lovely orange mush on/around it. The rad was drained and flushed about 5K ago when the timing belt was done. No sign of external leakage, no overheating (if the gauge can be trusted) Is something a bit leaky internally?? Think it was Jaylox who said he had to top up regularly, is your coolant clean J?? TIA! RobH

Finally after 4 weeks of trying to see this damn Zed every weekend, un-returned calls, unfulfilled promises and general lying I have given up. It might be a nice car but I can't stand people pissing you about. If you don't want to sell it - say it. Don't just keep them hanging on, waiting to see it whilst you make up ANOTHER excuse. This awards for you Andyd - Timewaster of the year - take a bow!! sorry, but since my motorbike (2 months old) got nicked last week aswell (what was that topic "can't have nice things"?)I guess i'm not in the best of moods. On a lighter (but increasingly commonplace)note, anyone got / know of / ever seen or heard of a l…

A minor (but annoying problem): As soon as I turn on the ignition (NOT start the engine even), I get a rattly buzzy sound from the courtesy light cluster above my head. It continues once the engine's on too, and basically it only shuts up when the ignition is off. What can it be? The climate control is off completely, btw. I don't understand why anything should be making a noise when nothing is running :/ Anyone got any ideas? It seems minor, but it's pretty damned annoying (especially when your desk at work is right next to a fish tank that makes a similar noise).

The passenger seat electrics on my Zed don't appear to work at all, meaning no movement of the seat at all. Is there any way of fault finding? loose connections, buggered motors etc? Any common problems that might be the cause? also, I've got bad wear patches on the side bolsters of the drivers and passengers seats - anyone know if individual leather panels can be replaced? Ta!!

Just found some nice 18s to fit my car but the front ones are 8.5 wide with the right offset (+35), but the rear ones are 9.5 wide but have an offset of either 35 or 45, not 42 like it i am led to believe it should be. Will this matter, what exactly does the offset bit measure.

No, this isn't about Grannys and sex but instead a request for info on where I might be best looking for some new bushes - HICAS and front tension rod. I could do with a full set really though. Nissan wouldn't talk to me on the phone cos it's an import (I have to go in and have the chassis number photo'ed before they'll look anything up), and I can't get through to MJP at the moment... BTW, tried using the seach thingy, but it wasn't working Thanks dudes, -Stu

.......so here's something to cheer everyone up Don't Fart in Bed This is a story about a couple who had been happily married for years. The only friction in their marriage was the husband's habit of farting loudly every morning when he awoke. The noise would wake his wife and the smell would make her eyes water and make her gasp for air. Every morning she would plead with him to stop ripping them off because it was making her sick. He told her he couldn't stop it and that it was perfectly natural. She told him to see a doctor; she was concerned that one day he would blow his guts out. The years went by and he continued …

Just had a chance to blag test drives in a few TVR's this weekend. Interesting comparison to say the least. Tried the Tamora and the Tuscan S, but the best one for me was the factory demonstrator 4.5 Cerbera with a 'red rose' conversion which as far as I can gather is a track day pack with better brakes and suspension. Acceleration is almost unbelievable, feels more like a controlled explosion than an engine and does 130-160 quicker than the zed does 60-90. Only thing more impressive was the brakes (370mm AP's) never felt anything like it, you can brake so hard you nearly come right up out of the seat - bit different than the zed brakes! Bitch to drive at low speed …

As the title: Could a Euro/US LHD drivers seat be used as an electric passenger seat? Is the wiring in place so that we can just "plug an play" a LHD electric drivers seat in place of the manually adjusted passenger seat? Trev (trying to give the misses a bit of electric action!)

I heard you all talking about this stuff yonks ago but it is relatively recent in Scotland. The leaflet waffles about two identical (looking like Vectras) cars with the Optimax fuelled one being 3 car lengths ahead in the same motorway overtaking manoeuvre. Is this tosh? As a cynical Scotsman it was painful to part with an extra £3 - £4 a tankful to try this stuff. I'm on my second tank but havent found a Z yet to test the 3 car lengths promise against! I could understand the fast burn chemistry stuff in a formula 1 engine at 14000rpm but not in a road car at a lazy 3000. Is it about feeling good cos you're spending on intangibles? Not yet convincd

Going well so far. For anyone new, please only put info in the Price Checks Section about parts and/or services...details like where/cost/quality. Try not to discuss things there or clog it up with any other messages/words. Use this section for chat etc. The aim is for more people to make more informed decisions about purchases etc. and to reward good dealers/mechanics/garages etc., so that EVERYONE BENEFITS. If you're new here, put your insurance costs etc. in there, and the cost of your car, if purchased recently. Keep it up guys

Driver, 22, killed as cars race on esplanade A DRIVER aged 22 died and his two passengers were injured when a seafront car race came to a tragic end. The three were in a high-powered black Nissan 300SX which was racing another car on the wrong side of the road on Southsea seafront when it skidded and smashed side-on into a lamppost at 11pm last night. Driver Robert Perfett, of Kings Road, Hayling Island, was taken to Queen Alexandra hospital but died this morning from head and chest injuries. Firefighters spent an hour rescuing a 21-year-old passenger who was trapped in the back of the car. He suffered a broken ankle and face cuts. The 31-year-ol…
