Bought these by mistake a few weeks ago. They are NOT for regular 2+2 Zeds but rather for those 2+2 Zeds that have a plastic strip (approx. 1" wide = 2.5cm) across the front of the targas. Not sure how else to describe them. If placed in targas without this strip there will be a gap of approx 1". Put another way, they are shorter than the regular targa shades. If anyone wants these then they can have them for what I paid for them = £35 (incl p+p within the UK). Let me know! Cheers, Danny

I have just been speaking to Cybercraft who say that they can supply a cat back mongoose exhaust system for £445 delivered if we can get people together to buy five systems. This is over £100 off rrp. Anybody interested?

Since I got my old Rover back on the road, the Z is now a weekend-only car. The fuel bill's a bit more acceptable now. However when I start it after a long rest all week, it sounds (and feels) like there's a cylinder off. But when it gets up to temperature it's OK again. The Conzult power balance test says everything's OK. What could be up here? Any thoughts? Could it be the power transistor? Ta.

Hi I live in Chester (North West UK) and i need a home based mechanice (i.e. doesn't charge £25 per hour) who is good with 300 TT's. Need someone within a reasonable distance of Chester, less then 20 miles would be great. I'll pay a fair rate (in cash) but I aint flush and I aint stupid, any work required would NOT be given the go-ahead from me until a quote has been given and approved by myself. The basic symptoms of my car are this: Rough, uneven idle, stalling occasionally. Water leaks from back of engine, looks like perished/incorrectly fitted hoses. I haven't the time or the mechanical skills to do this job.....I reckon the manifolds n…

Help, I've just had a gearbox fitted and in the process the mechanic has snapped a lead that was connected to the exhaust. The lead in question is a silvery looking thing and it looks like it goes to some sort of a sensor behind the catalytic convertor. It looks like there are four of them in total, Two for each pipe, one before and one after the cats. Now, after about 8 mins or so once the car is warm she is running as rough as rats, like the mixture is too rich or something. Can anyone out there tell me what this lead and sensor is? and the best way to fix it??

http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/tech/blitz/blitz.htm In the link it suggets for my car, which has the chip, to set to 1.1KG/cm = 15.5psi and gain of 6. is this thought of as being ok for the limiter? or do you guys that use this boost controller set to a lower boost limit, cos i find that the boost actually will rest someway below the limit. i just dont want to fook me engine up, i am staying around 12psi for the moment until i understand more about this DSBC. Cheers stvee

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.... Having disconnected the stock solenoids to enable a boost controller, the knock sensor must still be active - (?) Surely if this detects detonation and switches the ECU timing/fuel maps the detting will get much worse?? - I guess it's down to the maps that your aftermrket chip has set for normal running and running after knock detection..? Just a thought... RobH

I put some of Smithies hard pipes on and now I'm getting code 33 on hard boost. According to the diags it could be: Harness and connector - where r they? fuel pressure injectors intake leaks. I assume that it is the last one, but I have tightened up everything and still the same - any ideas? Also, when they say left side - do they mean drivers or passangers? Cheers Vijay

Sorry guys! that old chestnut again. Neved had detonation before. Added a scramble switch at the weekend to give me 5 seconds of 1.3 bar (bit cheeky on stock injectors I know!). Tried it out and got a bit of detting, eased off immediately and now the damned car won't boost to the maximum 1 bar I had previously used OK without detting :-( Could this be plug tip damage or similar caused by my initial scramble boost madness?? '90 Jap Auto TT, Blitz SUS, SE chip and Apex'i AVC-R **standard exhaust** One other point of note, set the AVC-R up to use gear based learning and feedback 'properly' at the weekend. I have to say the boost is overshooting 1 bar a bit... …
