When does the ECU check the detonation sensor circuit for error code 34. Sometimes I get it, sometimes not so I need to known if the "not" times are a red herring

You know the set of warning lights that come on when you switch the ignition on, go off when you start the engine? Well, my orange one (picture of an engine, maybe?) doesn't come on any more... I don't have an owner's manual so I can't check what (if anything) it means. Or is it possible that it's just a bad connection or something? I was faffing about with RapBoy under the bonnet & around the ECU, and it was after that that it stopped coming on :'( Also, an aside on speed restrictors: How are they usually delimited if you don't have a speedo conversion? hi guys,since removing my aiv's and putting my new intercoolers on ive got hesitation probs at tickover(dont no if its cos the car has been stood for a week?) 1,ive had the batterey disconnected! 2,checked for leaks! 3,blocked the pipe connected to the zorst properly! is there anything else ive missed? thanks jay

hi everyone,today when i check my radiator fluid there looked like a small film of oil on top. recently i had my system flushed a couple of times and are now concerned that i might have a problem. any ideas guys or is this normal? thanks jay

quick question? how did you get your car in the vid in the first place? are you registered with an agency or something? i saw a telly programme bout a year ago showing an agency who specialised in getting cars for films/tv work. did u use one of them or did you hear/see an advert somewhere??

hi i just bought a jap 300zx tt manual on an h plate the dealer says its chipped is there anyway for a novice like myself to tell and does 6200 sound ok for a mint bodied met black 2+2 targa with 1 years mot 6 months tax and a years full parts and labour warranty the car has blitz suspension and 17" bbs deep dish wheels and 2 hks super draggers but has a noisy thrust bearing which they wont fix unless it breaks totally many thanks Paul

My Z is a mess but I am slowley making it better. I washed her today, the first time since putting DaveW's spoiler on (Thanks Dave, Looks 100% better now) and Jon's brake light, (Thanks Jon, looks the Biz now!) I took a few ticks just to keep but I may as well share them with you. I got some but this is with a new camera The, Z, ready to pounce off the drive Rear view showing the spoiler and light. Hi, I've decided to drain/flush my coolant at is a lovely orangey brown colour. Problem is that I can't see an easy way to get at the lower hose and tap on the radiator. Should I be coming in from above or below?? I need to try and make it as easy as possible as it looks like I'm gonna have to flush/run/dump about half a dozen times... Is it OK to drain and fill it while hot? Obviously I'll take care to avoid cooking myself... TIA!! RobH

does anyone know if the manual gearbox has one or two (or no) plates that are behind the flywheel and are held between the bell housing and block. I know the auto has two halfs, a top and bottom. I think i've got the lower of the two, but can't seem to find any info anywhere. Cheers.

I'm currently doing the auto to manual conversion on my Z. I've come into possesion of a veilside ECU that's from a manual car with similar mods and age to mine. Is it possible to use this ECU in my car given the engine differences between auto/manual? has anyone tried a manual ECU in an auto car after the conversion? Ta.
