How quick is an M3?

And is my zx broken? or is it normally to get totally smoked off the road by an R plate BMW M3?!

How demoralising! smile.gif

so.. I'm quite happy to humble my zed in the face of the M3.. to be fair a new M3 *should* trounce it, given the price tag, engine size and the amount of gadgetry BMW piled in it! But, again hats off to how the zed tackles these MK roundabouts!

Aye smile.gif Just had a quick dig - as you made a comparison akin to beating a bmw being as slow as a 'lesser' - *obviously* the driver is not good enough in the beemer - or he had one up on you by making you *think* he was trying when in fact he wasnt...heheh wink.gif or am I reading too much into shit drivers? biggrin.gif

I know how much faster a good driver can be over a lesser driver.

Anyways - At least you had some fun

In response to Banzais post: Is there any car you haven't driven in County Cork!???

Only the crap ones wink.gif

I'm fortunate that one of my friends is a car collector (the one with the M3 actually)

and another imports high performance cars from Japan to sell to the UK, so I get to drive and race all types of exotic machinery.

Life is tough sometimes biggrin.gif

I've raced my mate in his M3 Evo and driven it. I would say it had a similar level of performance to my Z.

I beat him at north Weald by about 1 second. I am still trying to get another friend to bring his new M3 manual to North Weald but he keeps making excuses.

He bragged that it had 343 BHP, when I told him mine had 357 he was surprised. Then I proceeded to explain to him that that was RWBHP, not at the crank like his figure.

The difference took a bit of explaining, I am still not sure he understands it.

well what do you know... got my new company car lists through today... and what's on it? M3... if it wasn't for the tax sting I'd have one just out of curiosity!

most likely will be opting for an S8 before they drop it...

Hang on a minute here! You Auto drivers obviously aren't doing something right FFS!

I rolled from a 30mph start (I know that because I was coming off the Menai bridge and back onto the A55) with a rumoured 517bhp highly tuned Sapphire Cossie sat right on my feckin' back bumper.

Overdrive OFF and floored it!

Read about it here...

At that time my car had a Blitz intake, Blitz zorst and SE chip installed. No increased boost or anything else.

So come on guys I know autos are alot quicker than some people think.

If you're getting that badly trounced by an M3 rolling at speed either a) you're not trying hard enough or b) there's something wrong with your car...period! wink.gif

Never been beaten by an M3 yet ! However, some guy in a MG/Rover thingy did me good and proper the other day ! Bad driving on my part though. First I lost the rear end being a bit to eager out of a corner and then as I was going past I slammed into the rev limiter and missed my gear change !

Now if only I had an auto !!

just joking like - but i do mean it - but i am joking, but i do mean it, ill shut up.

LOL biggrin.gif

Well if he was standard my car was running on HB pencil leaded fuel or summat!!!

I would have left him for dead make no mistake bud if he was running around stock bhp.

He matched me all the way upto 150 and then...only then did I start to pull away from him at top end and that is the gods honest truth! wink.gif
