does anyone know the max capacity of these standard injectors?????????????????

Have never seen any concrete proof of this, but subject to all other fuel related items working fully, they max out around the early to mid 400's, though i'm sure some Zeds out there are running higher bhp, but is the fueling correct ?? really in my opinion anyone going for the magic 400 or over is best upgrading to 555's to be sure of the correct fueling, when coupled to some sort of fuel/mixture controller, you should see some major difference's in power once you swap over if yer reasonably modified already and there is talk of a GB on the ole Nismo's at the mo.

cheers

GB on the ole Nismo's at the mo

I have read a few people on TT.net have had flow problems with the Nismo injectors - they then had problems getting them replaced due to "motorsport" parts being sold as is!

I was thinking of going for the RC injectors as they are flow tested before sale....

or.....

It seems Z32s and the RB25 engine have the same injectors as S14s, 370cc side feeds(info from http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17563&perpage=20&pagenumber=1 ).

If this information is correct then this place in the states: http://www.srswap.com/injectors.htm sells sets of 4 for about $499(£328 without shipping tax etc), or they do Apexi 550cc for $125(£82) each so $750 for 6(£492 without shipping etc).

The S14 guys are also looking into the fact that 3rd Gen RX7 FD injectors may work(only the Side Feed High Impedance 550cc primary injectors), if so they are approx £50 each they reckon http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18231 !!

Trev

Trev, some good info there cheers, as far as i know the Zed pre 94 injectors are different to what you listed above, 94 onwards are i believe the same as the SR20DET (late s14).

which are 370's Side feed (S14 & S14a), the GTR-i (? Pulsar anyway) SR20DET had 444's but they are top feed instead of side feed like yours. So basically you can't get any off another nissan (I dont think) that are bigger than 370 that will fit the Zed.

Skylarks (RB26 for sure) have 444's top feed.

The S14 boys have the same problem, a might mare to get hold of and are pricey.

Forunately the S13 take all the hand me downs from the Pulsar and Skylarks.

Here's the deal with Nismo vs. RC engineering injectors... Nismo injectors are brand new injectors, they come off the manufacturing line just as the stock Nissan injectors do. We all know that quality control in Japan manufacturing is great smile.gif However, there will always be a few bad apples that pass through QC.

RC engineering injectors are built from stock injectors that Z owners send in. The RC injectors are flow tested and rebuilt with new pintles, but the solenoids in the injectors are not replaced. Injector solenoids typically wear out at 100k miles to 200k miles. How much solenoid lifespan is there left in the RC engineering injectors when you receive them? There is no way of knowing. So while RC engineering injectors may work out of the box, they may not keep working 10k miles after you put them in. Keep in mind that Z owners trading in their stock injectors now typically have over 100k miles on their cars...

The Nismo injectors work out of the box 99.9% of the time, and will last longer. If anyone is worried about problems with their Nismo injectors, I can send the Nismo injectors in to RC Engineering for flow testing prior to shipping them out. RC charges US$24 to flow test each injector, however, if there is enough interest, I am sure I can do this for US$100/set. This will however delay delivery of the injectors by another 2-3 weeks.

Thanks!

(HP * BSFC) / ( number injectors * duty cycle) = necessary fuel injector size

BSFC for engines with forced Induction = 0.55.

At 85% injector duty cycle (=maximum), the max safe HP = 327 bhp at the wheels with stock injectors.

Why do these auto makers always make us pay hundred of dollars to replace all of these $10-20 parts? Why don't they just put together a good engine at the plant and let us pay a few extra bucks for a car that starts off with a decent powerplant?

I though the 300 engine was perfectly good engine out the box with room for modification without too much expense.

Compared to a lot of modern cars a few hundred quid on injectors is nothing.

Thanks Lymon, 327hp safe at the wheels at 85% duty cycle. Cool anyone got any prices between the HKS 555cc injectors or the Nismo 555ccc??, need to get these soon as I have bigger turbos on the way

Seems a group buy is going on, but I'm not sure where the info is frown.gif . Smithy maybe the one to ask?

http://www.zedparts.com have a price listed of $900 shipped, which is about £591.

Re: HKS injectors - Not sure, but check if you need an adaptor to get the injectors to fit in the fuel rail mate.

no adapters needed fit straight on apparently smile.gif

So Duffman are we only talking about Nismo 555 Injectors as being the only option for 90-94 UK spec cars?

Certainly seems Nismo's are the most common upgrade for pre 94's, Group buy ? thought perhaps, dunno now though.

My guy in states can supply them for $785 shipped, per set if there was 6-10 sets, but there would then be 20 1/2% top cover the usual duties, vat etc, so makes em just a tad more than price listed above, but all duties paid, can arrange it if yer like.

smithy cool.gif

definitly be interested Smithy, how much are we talking all together in good English pounds?

Yeah comes out at $949 = £617.50 round it of to an even £620.00 and that will be all shipping from states to me to you, taxes, duties, vat etc, need at least 6 though, i'll happily start it off at No.1

cheers

smithy

I have the Nismos and know other people also that have had no problems. I bought them beacuse they are new and not second hand altered originals (like RCs). I have heard of some people have problems with RC and I think it's beacuse they are not actually flow tested, you have to ask for it when you buy them, for an extra fee.

Jez.

Smithy well done my man.

I is at No.2, this is a very good deal.

Once we get 6 how long for delivery Smithy?

ehrm..I don't want to spoil everything, but don't forget you are going to need a new chip to go with the 555's

and guess who can supply you with a tuned chip for either manual or auto ? biggrin.gif

[This message has been edited by lymon (edited 28-08-2002).]

Eric, is it fair to assume that those with :- an SE or Dasek Uni-chip, would just need re-mapping and those with stock or other make of chip, can use an after market fuel controller such as HKS or Apexi ??

any ideas ?

cheers

smithy

Lymon are you supplying tuned chips then, and if so how much?

I have an SE Chip at the moment installed.
