General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Has anyone on here had any dealings with nitrous kits on a Z i have just seen how relatively inexpensive it is(£5-600) and the claims of 50 to 200 bhp increase are quite enticing, i would opt for the less expensive not so balls out but still incredible 75 bhp on tap ??? any help much app, the site claims its v safe, and im seriously considering it, but scared i wreck my motor and wallet

Car has been running like crap and cutting out So changed the PTU today for a new one and cleaned pretty much every connector in sight car is running much better now apart from tickover and WOT tickover is really lumpy sounds like someone is tapping the throttle and after flooring it had real loss of power. under load , Did an ECU check and got code 22 (what's this) which then dissapeared and i got a 55 , I then got code 42 which i understand is the Fuel Temp Sensor , can anybody please tell me where this is located

Just saw a black import, looked very clean with a high rear spolier. The only thing is it's got 300zx in large red transfers down the side which I would imagine would come off pretty easily. Anyway it's up for £3500. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll get some more details. It's in NW London by the way. Vijay

Yes thats right £1950, NO OFFERS. I just cannot get anyone local to look at it, I also cannot source a reasonably priced 2nd hand engine so it's go to go. Believe it or not I have also lost the logbook BUT I have sent off (few days ago) to dvla for another which should be here within two weeks. So come and look at it now, leave a deposit, when the logbooks here, drive it away. It's doing the car no good just sitting here, so take it away…

Morning all, I just want to compare this to other peoples manual levers. When in gear I can move the gear stick side to side about an inch and a half. I can do this in every gear, I can not move the gear stick up and down as much and there doesn;t seem to be any other side effects. Is this normal or do I need to replace a bush somewhere ??

Recently my hicas light has been coming on, it only comes on for a few minutes while the car is cold, after that it stays off. did the diagnostic check, no fault came up. Why? is this normal? :confused:

Don`t know about you guys but I`m being really careful out in the jungle right now, seems that some of our motoring bretherin forget what an icy road can do for traction on a car. Was driving through my old home town to see my grandparents tonight and some prattish spotty oik in a wide boy mini nearly ripped my front end off as he rear ended off a mini roundabout. Regardless of blame, a smashed Zed is a smashed Zed so please be careful of idiots out there. God knows there`s plenty of them!! Hope all goes well over the holidays folks, best wishes to you all.

Hello all, Just a general interest question: Does anyone know how well bumper mounted aerials (i.e., the ones that run along the inside of the bumper) work, has anyone installed these on their Zed and who sells them for how much? I think I remember speaking to Tooley about it at the Easter Meet and he said he had them on his car - can't remember the facts though. My electrical aerial has been acting up as of late - probably all the crap that gets stuck in there - am contemplating alternatives. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Cheers, Danny

Hi All Whats a healthy reading (i'm using the oil pressure gauge in dash) for a 1990 z32 TT. Mines reading 60 (psi?) when cold but drops to 20psi when warm, thats with the revs held at 2500rpm.

Im gutted, and will cry into my beer all next year. However she did ask me to buy her something cheap to run around in as well...so I bought her a Track Suit..that will teach her...lol Would like to say thanks to everyone who replied to any of my numerous questions this year on technical matters. I have a problem with the air conditioning compressor, it's making some loud groaning noises (stops if i swith to econ mode so pretty sure it's the compressor). Done a search on the forum noticed Stuart had same problem. Stuart did you get it fixed, what was the cause ? anyone else have any info on repair or replacement of the compressor.

Anyone got a ball park figure of how much it would cost me?

Hi, I have seen from previous threads that the stock recirculating valves can be problematic and maybe not up to the job! Is it feasible to plumb in an extra recirculating valve on each side, so you would have two working each side! Mark

Its near Christmas folks and I really want to end the year on a good note. I`m getting my Zed back from FG on Saturday and as promised I`ll post a thread about how Frank has done. I`m having a new front bumper and he`s pulling and spraying a couple of trolley knocks from the wings. Let you know how it goes but at the moment, I`m full of confidence (and missing me ZED!!!)

Right I've decided when I get my Zed (v soon!), I'm gonna run a cheap car to and from work most days on 3rd party insurance, to keep Zed petrol costs and mileage down. The mileage for two reasons - less wear & tear, holding value longer, and limited mileage for insurance. Keeps the wife sweet ;) Trouble is, I'm with Adrian Flux at the moment 6 months through my policy, and they say I can't start a limited mileage policy part way through a year. WTF?! Why not? Is this a standard thing? Also, what happens to your NCB if you change insurers mid-year? Will they allow the year to follow on with the new company. I mean, this can't be a rare occurrence - peopl…
