My motor has been laid up for the not-insubstantial time of 34 weeks. I collected from Essex on Wednesday and drove the 75-ish miles home OK. Took it out for a spin on Saturday and after around 2 miles the Hicas and Cruise Control warning lights came on.

I guess that the Hicas one is down to fluid level....but what about the Cruise Control...I've never had that light come on before. I checked the operation of the Cruise Control and it all seems to function correctly.

 

I thought that this light should only display when you have engaged Cruise Control via the main switch.

 

Any thoughts guys??

HICAS light sounds like the good old off-centre steering wheel trick - I bet it came on on the motorway? could be wrong...

First I heard of the Cruise control light coming on for a warning.

 

I thought, like you, that it just came one when you swith it on.

 

Have you tested it? Does it still work normally?

Yes....cruise control all appears to work normally.

 

Hicas light appeared to come on at mini-roundabout...at around 20 mph!!!

OK so its not the steering wheel off-centre then! LOL

 

Does sound like the level needs topping up. I'll have a look into the cruise issue - is it auto or manual? Maybe a bad connection is causing the unit to simply turn on. I'll see what I can find out ;)
