Where do I begin? Well, I currently have a rover 220 coupe turbo. Its fast, very fast, but I wanted something more but still in coupe styling and something that wasnt going to get me in debt for 10 years, HENCE the 300zx. I have test drove a manual 300ZX TT and wasnt that impressed? Its a red UK car with 120,000 on the clock, standard, and the boost was reading just below 14psi which I presume is correct, but I diddnt get the same kick as I did from the 220 coupe when I first drove that?!?!?!? Whats going on? The guy at the garage said that maybe the car isnt running 100% and that he would let me have it for £6000 as it stands. Its a 92 'K'. A few …

I don't know where to start but couple of days back I had a crash in my Z...lucky to be okay, the car was going about 80mph and i thought i was gonna go through the windscreen as i din't have the seatbelts on. I lost the rear end car started to spin and i smashed it in a traffic light. I need the front Driver-side lower wishbone, anti rollbar (short one from the chasis to wheel as i have been told there are two of them) and the hub. For the rear driverside damage i only need the rear wheel wishbone (or however you spell it:D ). Now the problem is my car is a SWB TT...........will all the stuff out of a 2+2 TT fit my SWB or is there any difference in size, diame…

My TT has been in to my local Nissan dealer today to try and diagnose an intermittent bearing squeal from clutch /gearbox area when driving from cold. They admit they don't have a clue what it is, but suggest spigot bush. Symptoms are: Faint rattle on cold start at idle with clutch pedal up. Disapears when clutch pedal depressed. Bad bearing squeal intermittent at about 2000 rpm, from clutch area when driving and clutch pedal up, disapears when warm after 5 mins. Anyone any experience of spigot bush failure?

Hello all, I have been considering buying a 300zx for some time now and I have test drove quite a few. I have only drove the non-turbo as I didn't think I could afford the turbo. To be honest I wasn't that impressed with the performance. The manual was good but the automatics I test drove weren't very impressive. This put me off getting an automatic altogether and I decided it had to be the manual. Thing is, there is a metallic blue twin turbo with full leather full sale at a garage on the Internet at the moment which looks very very nice. Problem is - it's an automatic. Now it's a good 100 mile drive for me to go and look at the car so I don't want to waste any tim…

If you've read any of my posts you'll know i'm looking to buy a Z in the near future. I was wondering how hard they are to work on for a budding amateur mechanic like myself. I've done a fair bit of work on my 200sx (changing turbos, intercoolers, suspension, etc) and done a bit of playing around with my scoob. Is the 300 a much more complicated beast or is it just that there's less space under the bonnet? Also, I was wondering if there are any obvious performance restrictions on the cars (like the 200sx has pathetic air flow through the airbox and a p155 poor exhaust as standard). I'd imagine the 300 would have some restrictions due to it being set up to mee…

Just HAD to add a few words on the whole Zedworld subject I am perhaps the single most cynical SOB you have ever had the utter displeasure to encounter. My standards are massively high and I am hugely difficult to please. However, in the opinion of both me and the wife (she would shoot me if I didn`t mention her) Zedworld gives nothing but the best on all occaisions. If they can`t deliver, they will tell you so. Jeff may be an amateur by some accounts but let me tangentialise for a moment....... Four years ago, a mother and her son decided to change the face of care in the home within their local area. They had feeling but little business knowledge to…

I put in a call the the dealer i bought my impreza from and was rather surprised when he offered me a trade in thats almost what i paid for the impreza and told me he'd source a decent 300ZX TT for me. I can't wait to get back into a decent car again. The last 3 months of Scoob ownership had almost put me off performance cars. The Impreza, regardless of it's performance, is a seriously over rated car. Long live Nissan :D Woohoo!!! oh.. before i forget ... I stumbled onto the gallery of owners cars the other night but i can't find the link to it. Can someone remind me where it is? I've got some pre-ownership drooling to do :p

I have a problem with the boost gauge on my imported tt auto Car is still limited and some joker stuck a 120mph sticker over the original 180kph dial. Looks as if they did something to the boost gauge at the same time. When the ignition is primed and showing the warning lights, the gauge jumps to exactly halfway between 0 and +7. When the engine is runninf the gauge reads just over the marker halfway between -7 and 0. When I`m driving the car, just maintaining the speed at a constant 65-70 using cruise puts the gauge at 0. I think this must be wrong but have no frame of reference. How hard to you accelerate before your gauge reads 0? I`ve used kisckdown once or …

This Sunday I'm about to do my first lot of stuff to my new Z. Had it about 2 months now, has done 60700 miles, and am going to do some stuff myself to stave off some cost of the next MAJOR SERVICE. So I'm planning to change the oil, using Castol RS 10-60, new filter, new sparkies, at 13.50 each (bloody hell WTF) and change the manual gearbox oil. Any of u here have any tips to make it all go smoothly? I intend to replace the pluggy wotsits when I change the oil (sorry I just had my work crimbo dinner and am vocaburarly challenged) and the pluggy wotsits when I do the g/b. Any tool sizes would be good to know. And another thing, since owning my zed I've never seen an…

Hmm... Firstly (and most stupidly), where on earth is the washer fluid reservoir? My untrained eyes can only see two reservoirs under the bonnet - one is the brakes, the other one's opaque, so I don't want to assume it's washer fluid. I tried following the pipes from the squirty things, but it got complicated & I was cold, so I gave up (do I sound pathetic yet?). I checked the online manual but it doesn't seem to deal with such mundane matters. And secondly, this morning the Z stalled twice on the 15min drive into work - both times when fully warmed up, A/C off, approaching a junction, clutch in... and both times it started first time, no problem. It's neve…

Hi guys, I'm new in this forum. There's this 1990 red Nissan 300ZX non turbo, 87,000 miles, auto tranny that I want to buy. The car is great. Engine is still great, body and chassis too but one thing. The automatic tranny seems kinda weird. I have never own a 300ZX before with an auto tranny. The tranny feels weird, it seems like the tranny is a bit sluggish and keep on shifting to the right gear. Do you think that's normal? I heard that early 90's Nissan, all their auto tranny are like that when they get old. Any advice and suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks a lot guys.
