Despite sub zero temperatures of the brass monkey variety the cooling fan on my Zed is on almost all of the time. Like a trip to the corner shop and back and its on! The temperature needle is a little high too, heater is working fine though. The coolant level is okay having recently changed it and put fresh antifreeze in. Anyone any ideas? is it the thermostat stuck open / shut? is it anything to do with the temp sensor sending dodgy signals to the fan? or something else? any advice greatly appreciated Regardz Ian D.

I have a problem. Just fitted uprated intercoolers reset the ecu so not that. When under WOT and pressure gets high the whole engine just dies. It doesn't cut out as no ignition lights come on, just looses all power until the throttle is slightly lifted off. At moment the evc is running at 0.95bar. Was wandering if it is the injectors maxxing out, but the boost pressure isn't really that high, and it doesn't feel like it is running out of fuel more an electrical problem. can the ecu (SE) be cutting something out? Please help as it tends to be a bit dangerous overtaking. It cut out 3 times whilst overtaking one car with a lorry coming opposite way. Felt like a twa…

I havent done one in far too long and as a result the colour of the fluid is red.....I can drain the radiator part no problem but there must be sooo much sediment in the block it keeps coming back red again - I have read on TT.net that there are Engine block drain plugs and although they dont recommend undoing them, the service manual shows this as the procedure and I'd at least like to have a look for myself....lus I'd like to do an engine flush and I dont want to do this if I cant drai nthe block as I cant guarantee I'll get all the crap out afterwards......Can anyone help on this or have any tips? Thanks in advance.

ive recently had a RPS 6 puck clutch & fidanza flywheel fitted to my car, after having it fitted the car would not start. at first it was assumed ther was a problem with the mounting of the starter motor as the bolt holding it in place had stripped the threads in the hole where it is located. yestarday i helicoiled the hole and fitted the starter tight against the gearbox. the car still wouldnt start. i took the starter of and had a look, after inspecting i am now sure that the starter motor is too close to the flywheel, and is hitting the flywheel instead of meshing with it. has anyone else had this kind of problem when fitting uprated clutch & flyw…

Hi All, Been trying to resolve a rotten clunking noise when applying the brakes in reverse - particularly when cold. Took it into the local monkey house and they reckon you can see the wheels jerking with play - they reckon the top link arm bushes (?) but cheaper and easier to fit complete arms...There is also a nasty 'thump' from the passenger front wheel area when applying the brakes hard going forward or gently when going over bumps/up kerb. I've had the torsion/tie bar bushes replaced already. Any ideas anyone?? Could anyone supply a part number for the top link arm please?? Andyduff - if you read this, please mail me your number (lost it :-(), I c…

On the subject of tracking i had the alignment sorted out on Saturday as the car was pulling to the left, the alignment was done last thing Saturday so i took it down the M4 to check, guess what it felt no different. Sunday went to quick-fit who used the old fashined light set up and the tracking was still out!!!!! He then set it up and i took it for a spin.Guess what the ****ing thing still pulls. There is some wear on the left wheel inner tyre but i doubt it could cause this. I need to get this sorted this week does anyone know someone in West London that can help? Also i've sorted all the wires ready to fit the head unit but no power to the cables. Can …

If im replacing the exhaust, then i might as well bubble rap the cats. I heard if you don't replace the cats with a correct diameter pipe. There is not enough back pressure left, resulting in over boosting and turbo problems. So those chaps that have replaced there cats with straight through pipes, where have you got them from and have you had any turbo problems?
