I'm after some, very basic information about R/C control. Cost of Control unit, how servos are controlled etc. etc. What I want to do is control a full sized car, a la Scrapheap Challenge. Don't panic it's not a Zed! Any help appreciated. Tim

Just seen the new Z at Courtesy Nissan. It looks 10 times better in the flesh and is a real stunner, both inside and out. The salesman did not know much about the car and would not even give me brochure. I think that they may have a specialist sales team. The guys on the accessories side are Z enthusiats so that was quite refreshing.

I found out my clunking. :D I looked under the car today and I noticed that the roll bar has been sliding along, by the scratches on it. So I have finally found what it is. How do I go about fixing it? Here is the bushes for sale at the Zcentre. No4 holds the roll bar in place and is where I have noticed the slip. http://www.zcentre.co.uk/Images/suspension/frt_bush_lge.jpg Here is a larger view of the picture http://300zx-twinturbo.com/manual/fa/016.gif Will changing these bushes stop the bar from slipping? Evening all! I would really appreciate it if those of you who have purchased ConZults from me (or other sources) if you could pass back some feedback. I'm especially interested in hearing about your experiences and any suggestions for future development. Many thanks. Danny

As a few of you will know my Z has just been kitted and was due to leave PPS until we found it wouldn't start! All had been OK until last week when all the interior and gadgets had been wired in and then it wouldn't fire. It had run fine on many occasions over the last few months it's been in. The engine was turning over but not firing. Tried another PTU but still the same. Checked for a spark at the plugs and was OK. We could hear the fuel pump working and pressure was OK. What could it be if there was fuel and a spark?!?! Thought it must be something to do with the turbo timer or Blitz power meter that had just been fitted so removed those. Still no…

November issue of 'Japanese Performance' carries an article about buying a used 300zx....and in the section 'Suspension/Steering' is this.... 'Many owners don't realise that the suspension dampers on all UK spec twin-turbo models can be set for hard or soft settings. It's done using the handbrake mechanism. Yes, really - check with handbook or dealer/specialist.' Sounds more than a bit wacky to me....but....have checked handbook, nothing! So now I am asking the resident 'specialists'.....is it right, and if it is how do I adjust???

I just read a thread in which an electric engine fan was mentioned, am I missing something obvious here, as my z appears to have a pulley riven fan that runs whenever the engine is on. Plase don't tell me that it is also electric and can run on with the car static as I'll have to rewire the bloody alarm Ive just finished!! Paul N

Just had to check the tyres as the car is pulling very slightly to the left.On inspection i've noticed the front tyres are only 205's and the rears are 225's is this correct? I assume the pull is the tracking even though the steering wheel is straight it could still be tracking? Shouldn't the tyres be little phatter?

Hi, I think I need some SOFT brake pads for the SVA. I say this because of the stupid way they test the brakes, ie engine off etc, and I need them to grab cold and well without the servo.. Any ideas...?

Sweeeet looking silver 2+2, with twin-scooped front panel, parked across the central reservation of the ring road, on the section between the A52 roundabout & Rayleigh island, 10:15 this morning :) Looked for a driver as I trundled past, but couldn't see anyone :/ It's on my regular route to work, but I've not seen this Zed before... quite exciting, then :) But it put my stock red Zed to shame :'(

I've got a J spec Z with standard wheels which are the same size in all 4 corners.Does the UK model come with different size standard wheels?I saw somewhere that the rear wheels are bigger, why do the Jap and UK models differ if that is the case? Also if I wanted to put aftermarket alloys on my car, could I put wider wheels on the back or can I only do that with a UK spec car. I think wider rear wheels are going to give much better grip, especially when the back ends are prone to slidding! Cheers, F.T.

Was down at Jeffs last week and tentatively asked about a chip upgrade. "no probs" says Jeff, "instant 70BHP increase in power". After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I wondered if there are any deleterious effects from the engine suddeny having almost a quarter as much power again as it had before. I have a large bore exhaust (catted) and am about to fit a blitz induction kit. This is most probably fairly standard stuff for a lot of you but it will be the first time I`ve had a mod like this on a car.......worth it? good for the car or bad?

Can anyone help? I have a vibrating propshaft centre bearing that is need of replacement shortly. Working for a Bearing and Transmission company that also reverse engineer bearings etc. (tut tut) I may be able to offer a substantial saving on obtaining these bearings. Has anyone out there got an old bearing that they don't mind me having a look at to obtain. It may be that this has already been done, if so please advise. Obviously the savings will be passed on if found Regards Steve

John..I have read your post about your accident mate...sorry to hear about the Zed...Glad u r ok though. I think the service you are looking for is something called the BMI..or something like that...It protects u against an un-insured party. Your insurance compnay should be able to put you in touch with them. Beats making a claim on YOUR insurance and having sky high premiums for next year. Also in closing....I would personally have injured a few more of the tossers myself...with a nice hard baseball bat. Chris:mad:
