Driving along last night with the front screen misted up as usual (had to wipe with a cloth three times in 15 miles) and the temp was on freezing even though the temp was set to the top! When I joined the dual carriagway and hammered it upto about 85 the temperature raised again. When I slowed down it was cold again. On the return journey it was up and down all over the place. Any ideas Ivan:mad:

Changed my front pads on 300ZX TT the other day as when i had my front tyres changed i noticed the pads were looking seriously low. Not sure if this is right but when i removed the old pads, the brake discs started flopping about! Is there meant to be a grub screw or small bolt to secure the discs to the hub? There seems to be a small threaded hole ready to accept somtehing. It's just that i sometimes get a clunky noise from the front when i apply the brakes at slow speed. I suppose that once all the pads are back in and the wheel nuts are tightened up the discs aren't going anywhere, but most cars i've ever worked on have a little grub screw to stop any play. Any ideas fo…

I searched the forum about this but I am still in doubt. Every time I get under boost there is a long hooting sound( like a distant ship horn) which lasts sometimes 5 to 10 seconds and disappears when I release throttle. Performance is super otherwise. My IC's were changed last week for bigger items. I understand that the classic goose honk occurs in just the opposite circumstance,i.e when releasing the thottle. In my case my POP charger makes no noise at all. Your opinions , please. "Look no further, sir, you're leaking boost". Correct? rik TT now at 17 psi(max) completely decatted sigle POP mongoose ECU by kempower 375 h…

We'll a fvcking big oops!, the inevitable happened tonight. Was driving back home and lost the zed on a very slippery right hand bend, back end just 'snapped' with no warning and it spun around head on into a brick wall at about 25-30mph ARGHHHHH!!!. I actually found that the car took it extremely well, seat belt kept me locked right in also. Quite a bit of damage to the plastic bits up front, one smashed headlight and sidelight, both wings I think are crumpled. Just spent £200 on fixing the front bumper earlier this year, so one is not amused. Looks like I will be buying some second hand stuff off from here. Thats really pi55ed me off now because I'll have t…

Hey folks! After a long absence I have found my way back to this dark corner of the web! Glad to report I'm still enjoying my Zed albeit with a few more little dents and scratches due to some thieving scum! Insurance company won't pay for a complete respray so I'll have to save my pennies from this point forth - what else is new for us Zed owners ... Just thought I'd show my face again. Cheers all! Dan

One of those new Jag XJ6 turbo jobbies on the M23. And I was 4 up, and yes it is a fkin squeeze! He was good up till about 140-150ish but then the lesser machine had to admit defeat and let me by!! A little flash of acknowledgment from the Jag driver and it was all over. I do like it when other drivers flash or raise their hand rather than getting all aggro about it, I have endured both reactions and do not like reaching under my seat for...........

After suffering a couple of jerks coming out for a "test drive and tyre kick session" I am considering getting anyone who wants to test drive my car before buying it, to sign a "responsibility for damages agreement". This assumes that at best they will only be covered for third party cover under their own policy. Something like: I agree to compensate the owner of Nissan 300zxTT, registration number: A8JVN in full for any direct, or indirect, damages caused and accept full responsibility for all third party claims whilst I am driving or in control of the vehicle. Name ......................................... Address ...............................…

My clutch is on the way out, slips at about 4 1/2 thousand revs. Can anyone advise me on a replacment one. Will a stock one be suitable or do I need a better one (RPS etc). I'm running around 400 bhp. Plus, where on earth can I get one fitted in Kent ??? I refuse to take it to another Nissan dealer after the last visit. Regards

After her sixth child, Jane decided that she should have some Cosmetic surgery "down below" to restore herself to her former youthful glory because her bomb doors were dangling a bit too low and looked like a ripped out fireplace. Time and childbirth had taken its toll and she reckons that, with six children now being the limit, she'd tidy things with a nip here and a tuck there so it looked more like a piggy bank slot rather than a badly packed kebab. Following the operation she awoke from her anaesthetic to find three roses at the end of her bed. "Who are these from?" she asked the nurse, "They're very nice but I'm a bit confused as to why I've received the…

Ok, so what winds you up about other drivers? Is it undertaking, tailgating, driving with fog lamps on, hogging the middle lane, sitting in the outside lane when you want to overtake, people cutting you up.......... Me, I don't like discourteous drivers, if I let you out then I want a wave or flash of lights, just some sort of 'thanks', you can even cut me up and I don't mind, so long as you wave. What pi$$es you off? Mike

.....................something begining with Z. There seems to have been an unofficial Zed meeting in my area recently. In the past few weeks I have seen quite a few 300's 1) There is a Black 300zx in the Chadwell Heath area with what looks like HKS exhaust and the license plate "H 1 T A N". I have seen both a lady and man driving this. Does this belong to anyone on here ? 2) Also seen a Burgdandy 300zx with dark tinted windows a few weeks back, again in Chadwell Heath. Anyones ? 3) A Dark Grey Z with huge single exhaust on the eastern avenue by Moby Dick pub. You here ? 4) A white 300zx parked outside the cockney grub house pie and mash shop i…

Time of year where a little time before hand can save you a lot of agro. Check radiator for anti-freeze. Most coolants have anti-freeze in, so make sure you have plenty. Check washer for anti-freeze. Again most windscreen washers fluid have anti-freeze in, but check that yours have. If it freezes it could cause split hoses and split washer bottle. Tighten the fuel lines under the bonnet. The clips come lose anyway but the cold weather causes the pipes to shrik a little and the clips are not as tight as they could be. This causes a nasty petrol smell in the morning when you start up. Check your tyres for pressure and tread. Its slippy enough with ou…

Hey folks, 2 little questions...... first, does the engine on your Zed seem happier after 3000 rpm when the variable valve timing kicks in? damn sure mine does AND when (auto stuff) you put the overdrive in, does the engine automatically switch VVT modes? Thanks for any help
