Ok well soon as I get my funds refunded from my latest interview I'll sign up to the forum, but in the mean time I have to post in here. Basically I have to buy a 300zx now, just driven back to uni (Taunton, Somerset to Bournemouth, Dorset) and the 306 just doesn't cut it anymore My car keeps getting upset by mid range Mondeos! It's too slow and the sorts of roads I drive now demands something bigger. Another thing is people were in the habbit of flashing me for overtaking them. OK nothing coming the other way, good visibility, the road markings say it's safe WTF IS THE PROBLEM! I can't stand people who think because they do 40mph in a 60 that EVERY…

Hi guys need some help my car has just started miss firing (i think) but the problem seems intermittent , sometimes the car will accelerate fine but more often than not today it really held back , i have checked all the electrical connections and cleaned most . I had brand new plugs 2k miles ago , tickover is also lumpy and then will return back to normal after a minute or so. The only thing that seemed to alter the tickover was moving a wire siuated on a small alumium box (with small fins) situated behind the drivers side Throttle valve Pipe , does any body know what this little box does The car is TT auto Any help will be much appreciated

while I`m here, I was reading the archives yesterday and came across a top speed thread... Was wondering.....whaddya reckon a TT import could do delimited with around 400 bhp ? Also, what would that power do to the 0-60 time? Stock is 5.6 right? So if we are at 5.6 with 280 horses pulling our carriage, what difference does the extra 120 make?

Just wanted to remind you guys and gals about the importance of battery checks over winter. Took the car down to Jeff where he fixed a bad injector connection (so good to be running on 6 cylinders again!) but the car was still not happy..... Wednesday morning, came to start her up and got nothing but relay clicks, funky alarm sounds and not much else. Turns out my battery had died overnight....mind you, the new one really seems to be making the injectors happy though! First time the Zed has let me down so be careful folks...winter is a tart....and I ain`t even driven the Zed in snow yet....shi**ing meself about that one!)

But if i hold it just before or just dont turn the key all the way on to the stop it is fine, not really a problem but would like to know if anyone has had this or solved it! anyone know of band expanders available for the stereo? or if a standard ie sony stereo will fit? cheers Dave

I have changed the Roll bar bushes, and besides making the ride a hell of a lot better :D the clunk noise still happens. I have checked all the subframe bolts and they are all tight. It happens when I go over small bumps slowly or turning tight corners. Its coming from the front drivers side. Any one have any ideas now :( getting desperate. Stuart

Just wondering if any of you have taken out a warranty for you car from the RAC or motor warrantys direct and if you have has it been worth it... I'm looking for a Z at the moment and if I bought a car 10 years or younger say a 93 car I could get a 3 year RAC warranty for 469 quid... they both seem to cover plenty of stuff...each claim limit is 1500 quid...which ain't bad.. any comments appreciated..I want to get the Zed before christmas...ohhh what a great crimbo present :D

Hi all Been lurking on this forum for a while reading all your posts with interest.. I'm looking for a nice motor to use as a second car and I've always loved the 300 and I'm just after a bit of advice.. Basically I've got 10-12k to spend on a car..the Z would do me fine I've seen loads of them on autotrader for 5-7k all a bit different...millage/year stuff like that.. am I better to go for one of the really low millage ones that are selling for 9k+ or go for a 6k car and have cash left in the bank for any repairs or mods that need doing... whats the worst case senario regarding costs of engine/turbo/gearbox rebuilds.... I really want the Z but the…

I bought an engine temp sensor harness from Courtesy to replace my broken sensor connector. It is a 10 inch length of cable with a grey connector on the opposite end to the yellow sensor connector. Where does this grey connector attach to? If I open up my existing harness will I find a connector, or is it intended to be cut and spliced into the existing sensor harness? Does anybody know or done this themselves? Cheerz

Selling a 1989 (old body shape) red TT 300zx Recently it was taken in for a service and the garage fitted a new water pump, it made a noise on the way home, and when we got it back to the garage they said that the big end has gone on the engine. Garage is not accepting responsibitlty so i would like someone to either make me and offer or sell me an engine very cheap. Either way email me at Dringy@clara.net for details.

Has anyone fitted the front fogs that Courtesy supply? I've got me nice new corner combination lights/indicators (cheers Iain) and thought that maybe apair of 'driving lights' might help to allieviate the gloom that is the driving on diped beam experience. Are front fogs any use as 'driving lights'? Can they be used with the headlights on dipped beam? Are there any better alternatives?

HI Guys 'n' Girls Is it true that jap fuel is 100 octane? and that the jspecs require higher octane fuel to run properly? if the above is the case, then is it possible to retune for 95 or 97 octane fuel? and what wound i need to change? or is it best just to use Optimax which is supposed to be 98 Octane but still substancially lower than japanese fuel? I have noticed a huge difference in responsivness between normal unleaded fuel and optimax. are there any other side affects of using lower octane fuel? I hope this make sense. Cheers Mick

Hi all, Just got my Z recently, 1991 Jap Spec SWB, Auto. Now, I can't read Japanese, and my english handbook does not cover the switchable auto, so can someone describe the functions of the switch, I've had an Audi auto before with a sport mode, but the Z seems to have 3 modes in total!! What does it do in HOLD? What does it do in the middle!!? What does it do in POWER? HOLD seems to equate to the sports setting on My old Audi, as it holds back longer before changing up which I can understand, but what does power do? I've only driven the car home at 60MPH tops in appaling traffic and weather so have'nt tried it out yet, it's now laid up in the g…

Took the Z to an auto-electrician yesterday to get them to give all the under-bonnet wiring the once over, paying special attention to the throttle pos sensor, ptu, coils, etc etc, What a difference it has made, nice even tick over, seems to be more crisp aswell. It was something I had been putting off for ages but glad I got round to doing it, and not too much money either as its all labour and about 10p parts. Ahhh, lovely.

ive just had a new sony head unit fitted - however the standard fascia surround that came with the stereo ( the bit of plastic that makes the stereo look flush) has not been fitted by the audio guys. hence the stereo has a big gap all the way around it and looks crap. is this cos the surround wont fit? are the nissan din slots reknowned for being an awkward shape? or were the garage being lazy. if it is that they are an awkward shape are there adaptors available?? PS just has new rear tyres fitted - replaced the balding Kumho Ecstas with Brdgestone SO3s. tested them; before i was losing the back end in 3rd, in the damp, at this one roundabout. w…
