Don`t know about you guys but I`m being really careful out in the jungle right now, seems that some of our motoring bretherin forget what an icy road can do for traction on a car. Was driving through my old home town to see my grandparents tonight and some prattish spotty oik in a wide boy mini nearly ripped my front end off as he rear ended off a mini roundabout. Regardless of blame, a smashed Zed is a smashed Zed so please be careful of idiots out there. God knows there`s plenty of them!! Hope all goes well over the holidays folks, best wishes to you all.

Hello all, Just a general interest question: Does anyone know how well bumper mounted aerials (i.e., the ones that run along the inside of the bumper) work, has anyone installed these on their Zed and who sells them for how much? I think I remember speaking to Tooley about it at the Easter Meet and he said he had them on his car - can't remember the facts though. My electrical aerial has been acting up as of late - probably all the crap that gets stuck in there - am contemplating alternatives. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Cheers, Danny

I'd like to say Happy Xmas to you all...Where ever you are in the world. The Missus made me get rid of my Zed just before Xmas in favour of a Volvo estate. Im gutted, and will cry into my beer all next year. However she did ask me to buy her something cheap to run around in as well...so I bought her a Track Suit..that will teach her...lol Would like to say thanks to everyone who replied to any of my numerous questions this year on technical matters. It was my first Zed and wont be my last...Ive already started saving for a new one...BUT dont tell the wife!...lol Merry Xmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you all. Chris Gray:)

Hi, I have seen from previous threads that the stock recirculating valves can be problematic and maybe not up to the job! Is it feasible to plumb in an extra recirculating valve on each side, so you would have two working each side! Mark

Its near Christmas folks and I really want to end the year on a good note. I`m getting my Zed back from FG on Saturday and as promised I`ll post a thread about how Frank has done. I`m having a new front bumper and he`s pulling and spraying a couple of trolley knocks from the wings. Let you know how it goes but at the moment, I`m full of confidence (and missing me ZED!!!)

Right I've decided when I get my Zed (v soon!), I'm gonna run a cheap car to and from work most days on 3rd party insurance, to keep Zed petrol costs and mileage down. The mileage for two reasons - less wear & tear, holding value longer, and limited mileage for insurance. Keeps the wife sweet ;) Trouble is, I'm with Adrian Flux at the moment 6 months through my policy, and they say I can't start a limited mileage policy part way through a year. WTF?! Why not? Is this a standard thing? Also, what happens to your NCB if you change insurers mid-year? Will they allow the year to follow on with the new company. I mean, this can't be a rare occurrence - peopl…

Am i right in thinking that on a UK car having the handbrake on very lightly (ie 1 click or whatever is required to make the light come on on the dash) stiffens the rear shocks? Am i also right in thinking american and possibly jap cars have a button for this instead? So thus the next question is can anyone see any problems with me installing a switch to pretend the handbrake is lightly pulled. I was thinking of putting it on the right hand console where the light diming button is. Any thoughts? Just seems really lame with the.. "Oh im just gunna pull the handbrake up a bit to make my suspension better!" Thanks Rob:)

How is the paintwork on a Z? I'm gonna be loking at a few with the intention of buying one, probably a 50-60k miles import. Should the paintwork be spotless (give or take a stone chip or two), or should i be expecting to see some cracked paint or a few blemishes? Come to think on it... where are the most common rust spots. I've heard about the rear sills but are there any others that are "to be expected"? I guess the floors in the Z's are pretty solid?

Got myself a set of: Plasmaglow xenon/crypton HB3 9005 100W x 2 bulbs Plasmaglow xenon/crypton HB4 9006 80W x 2 bulbs Just offered these up to my UK model zed and how different could they be. They have got similar 2 pronged connectors but thats as far as they go. Was looking forward to some bright blue lights but me thinks these are not the right fit!!! Anyone seen these before?? Are they Jap or USA spec or am I just missing something. A wise man seeks advice before breaking something!!! They also have an L-shaped plastic assembly with a 3 pronged plastic bayonet style fixing.

I have got a TT Auto Import started getting a misefire and cutting out a few weeks ago which turned out to be the PTU, put a new on and great for about a day over took a lorry today then the car started misfiring between 1k and 3k rpm but no problem with foot flat to the floor , everytime i came to a junction the car would stall but restart straight away as long as the revs were kept high no easy feet trying to keep the revs above 1k so you can pull away in an auto, any bodies ideas and helpful suggestions would be appreciated , this also happened just after i filled up with fuel , and i did put the right fuel in = optimax

i get very nervous about an engine rebuild, cos i hestitate whether the engine will still be weak. cos if oyu replace some parts then you just put extra strain on the other non-replaced parts of the engine. is this just paranoia? and i can think of a rebuild as nearly as good as a new engine? cheers guys steve
