Fuel Temp Sensor Circuit

Car has been running like crap and cutting out So changed the PTU today for a new one and cleaned pretty much every connector in sight car is running much better now apart from tickover and WOT tickover is really lumpy sounds like someone is tapping the throttle and after flooring it had real loss of power. under load , Did an ECU check and got code 22 (what's this) which then dissapeared and i got a 55 , I then got code 42 which i understand is the Fuel Temp Sensor , can anybody please tell me where this is located

The fuel temp sender is located in the passenger side fuel rail - from memory, there should be a small spade connector on top of the sensor between the first and second intake tracts on the pass. side, small black connector, you push a little bobble in to release it.

 

Clean the connector up and refit.

 

AFAIK the fuel temp sensor is only used during startup, if the fuel temp is over 75C then the PRVR solenoid is actuated to raise the fuel pressure during intial start by presenting atmospheric pressure to the fuel regulator rather than engine vacuum, and routing the engine vacuum to the PRVR canister (pass wing).
