Hi All, I'm assuming my autobox is completely f*ckd (?) It still shifts nicely from 1st to 2nd but that's where it ends :-( no 3rd gear... Anybody else suffered this type of failure?? Any suggestions for a fix (for the car - not me!) Are the gears controlled by individual solenoids - hence just one dead-un or is the whole thing trashed?? The box has been a bit sticky before but was fine after a run/rest. I could really do without this at the moment GRRRRRRR!!! Any help and advice appreciated as ever... Cheers! RobH

and yes, i've searched!!! Go a small hks turbo timer fitted in z, but never used. Turned on and played around with, no matter what setting i put it on, always shuts down after 5 secs. Anyone know where i can get a manual/copy of manual from. green led display with 4 buttons, power, memory, up & down, no model number though. thanks......

This might sound like a daft question but !!!! . Having not owned a Zed before and just recently purchased one i am not to aware of what should be and shouldn,t be in the engine bay at the front on either sides are HKS Super Blow Off Valves what are these and what do they do and I presume that i will have to let the insurance company know if they are a performance upgrade

Having recently acquired my Z and now wishing to fit an evc iv it is apparent that all is not as it seems ! There are two pipes coming out of the inside hard pipes that go around the bay and join each other at the back with a t-piece in. Anyone know what these are for and where there supposed to be connected ? I thought they where offering the wastgates the pressure the turbos are producing ! Anyone know where the original wastegates connect to and where the original solenoids are ? Is there anyone in my area who would be willing to show me their engine bay so I could suss out where all the pipes are supposed to go as I can't find anywhere on the net with pict…

let me know what yo think! my idea to obtain cheap alloy wheels, is to search autotrader to find a 300zx for sale that has a nice set of rims, ring the seller to see if he/she would be willing to part with them for a smallish sum of cash along with your own wheels. Do you think it would work? Has anybody bought wheels this way? am I just too tight fisted to spend 1000+ pounds on rims and tyres?

Hi all, does anyone know if you can get a warranty from somewhere on a 1990 Import ZXTT. All the places I have tried will only cover cars newer than 10 years. Do you reckon I am fighting a losing battle??:( Cheers Glenn

Cleaned aac valve out and all pipes around it, then went in to throttle bods and toothbrushed everywhere and squirted carb cleaner all over the place till u could eat your dinner out of them but she still hesitates almost cuts out if the revs are low to start off with??? wonder what else it could be, been on nissans diagnostic machine but shows up no faults any one else had this prob??

Hi All First post so please bear with me :) When the 300zx website was up and running there was a buyers guide which had pictures of, amongst other things, what the boost gauge and oil pressure guages should be reading if all was ok. Can anyone point me in the right direction or is it gone for good. I've read Japanese performance buyers guide etc and will be going to test drive a 90 import on Friday. Hopefully by Saturday i'll be one of the gang as it's far to cold for motorbikes at the mo. :D

My Rear suspension struts and springs are in need of replacement , can anyone suggest a better alternative to stock replacements that will not alter the ride height , I have a TT auto import . Any suggestions for where these can be bought from would be appreciated aswell Cheers for now

Can some 1 help I understand that uk cars have seperate amp for rear speakers I have installed a sony cdxmp30, i copied all the wires from the clarion that was installed .... the rear speakers r not working .... i assume that one of the wires in the nissan loom is to switch the rear amps ???? does anybody know which wire this is ?

Hello floods on 1/1/03 killed my Z, Water was sucked in to engine, removed plugs and run starter water went everywhere. Replaced plugs engine started then stoped with a clunk, no water in cilinders but engine will not turn over anymore can anyone help??? 92 Jap spec fairlady Z Twin Turbo

Ok, so we all have read a thousand threads about un-even tickover etc but please bare with me on this one. I have a new PTU (series 2 type) have had throttle pos sensor sorted, cleaned throttle bodies a month ago, but all of a sudden my revs are going nuts. On start up they go straight up to over 2000, this does die down but on slight acceleration, the revs seem to dip first before increasing, causing occasionally to stall and then tricky to start again. At the back of the engine (near dash) on rhs there are the connectors that I have been told control the revs when air-con is on. This is pretty f*cked, could this be my prob? Its very tricky to get to to take on and off…

hi iam thinking of servicing my newly bought 300zx. i am based in coventry and was wondering if somebody could recommend a good person for the job. it would be great if the mechanic can sort out a few minor problem for minimal cost and explain some questions that i may have. i dont mind travelling as long as the person is reliable. cheers p.s. how much does the average service cost?

Ok...Fed up with my beautiful red Zed being the world's biggest paperweight in my Dad's workshops, does anyone know the easiest (and preferably cheapest) way of getting aforesaid paperweight from a location in Bedfordshire to a location in Lancashire? It will need to be taken up on a flat-bed trailer, so if anyone knows of anywhere that I can beg or borrow said trailer from or the cheapest method of getting it all the way up there, please can someone let me know.
