Do wheels from other manufacturers fit the 300, or is it just specialy ordered stuff???

Hi Guys, Happy New Year to you all. I am attempting to replace one of my rear wheel bearings tomorrow out in the cold. I would leave it but the noise is giving me a headache now after 10 mins of driving. So it's either upgrading my ICE so I can drown out the noise or replace the bearing. Has anyone done this job recently? If so have you got some handy hints for me please. Cheers Glenn

I'd rather walk to work and chuck snowballs at passing cars than risk denting mine........ Can someone tell me if more powerful lights are available as they don't seem that hot on dipped or main beam?

Hi all, I'm after sourcing Alpine ICE for my Zed at a reasonable price. I've already fired off an e-mail to Bob at Safe-n-Sound but thought I'd air the question here as well because some of you have either got industry contacts or know websites where you can get this stuff cheap-ish. I'm after the following kit: SPR-176A 6.5" speakers w/ separate tweeters and X-overs SWR-1021 subwoofer CDA-7893R CD/MP3/DAB Head unit MRD-M300 amp for subwoofer MRV-T320 amp for front speakers Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Danny PS - to satisfy my own curiosity, what is the difference between running a 2 Ohm subwoofer versus a 4 Ohm subwoo…

Hello, Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in wheel offset between UK spec and J-spec TT`s? Or put it another way are aftermarket (or stock) alloys interchangeable between the two models? Thanks Ronnie

It's getting worse.... it used to be once in a while, now it's pretty much every time I start up... It's a damn fan belt squeak (at least I think it's the fan belt). Very loud squealing which doesn't go away until about 3,400 rpm's. Which i don't like revving the car to when it's cold. Once i've revved it though the squealing stops. Now i presume all I have to do is take my car to the garage and ask them to tighten the fan belt but I was wondering if there's anyway I can fix it myself? Also, is it likely to be the fan belt? - there seem to be quite a number of belts lurking down in the depths of my engine... I want to make sure i'm blaming the right pa…

Drove to work today in the snow... i was the slowest car on the road. I had no choice to drive at a little over tickover, anymore and then the car would go sideways. and the brakes? totally useless. I nearly crashed it twice. scarry shit... Of course it did have its good moments, sliding the back round 90 degress junctions at 1000rmp... I feel sorry for all those with twin turbos, mine is a N/A and its scary ....... I think today is the first time i have arrived at work awake for a longtime. be safe Mick.

Saw this on the Z-Car mailing list, from the Z God himself, Tom Bell. Seems like there could be modified rubber seals available for early model cars. The bulletins are linked from my site :- http://www.300zx.org.uk/service_bulletins_&_recalls.htm And this specific one is listed here :- http://www.alldata.com/TSB/41/93411236.html as:- 93156 OCT 93 Interior - Water Leaks From T-Top Date: Mon, 6 Jan 2003 17:55:20 -0600 From: "Bell, Tom G (IT)" Subject: RE: T-bar panels leak >Julian Murch wrote: > >Hi everyone, > >Anyone had any experience with curing the leaks around the lift out panels >…

Hi All, I'm trying to get a replacement autobox three solenoid kit for my 1990 Jap TT Auto. Courtesy are dragging their heels a bit and Nissan UK have provided a part number (3194041X04) but I can't be sure it's correct. Can anyone who's replaced these (Anders?) provide a part number please or acknowledge that the Jap Autobox is the same as the UK one?? TIA! RobH

My centre bearing on my auto TT needs replacing according to its previous owner. What exactly should I be feeling through the car if this is so? At the moment there is a vibration that runs through the car at higher revs, is this right? Also what kind of price is a new front bumper? I am trying very hard to persuade my mrs that we need to keep the car ;) as I really like it.

with a wobbling gear lever even when it's in gear. I had this so decided to change the gear lever bushes. I found an article on TT.net saying it would only take about 45 mins max. Fook me.... 4 and a half bl**dy hours I was out there in the snow. My hands are still bleeding as I type and I still can't feel my toes  But at least my gear shift is nice and stiff now (oo-er). So if anyone is thinking of doing this to their car to make the gear change nice and stiff. I say Don't even bother !!!

A few of you will know how much I recently spent on my Z making it look the biz. Well a week before Christmas after only having it back about 3 weeks the auto box has gone tits up and only gives me 1st & 2nd gears and third slips so much it's like it's not in gear. Maybe it's had enough of 400+bhp for a year and then standing for 9 months with no use. I'm fed up and have no cash for a rebuild or manual conversion which I was going to do ready for future engine mods. What's the cheapest effective rebuild or manual conversion (with clutch for 450+bhp) that anyone has had and where from? Boo hoo!

It's a few months ago now, but then I've only just joined this site, but I went head to head with an RT10 Viper for the best part of 5 miles in the summer. I had a (rather large) witness on board too ! I have to admit he was in front, having announced his presence by pulling out from behind the car following me and roaring past but I reacted fast enough to match his speed very shortly after he passed. He then failed to even open space between us for the next 4 or 5 miles, even with having to slow for several roundabouts. We never actually got a standing start; which is probably just as well as he's got no lag at all, just an 8 litre engine powering massive tyres. …

Hi There seem to be a lot of Zeds for sale in the autotrader etc with 58-60K miles, from traders. I've emailed and asked about whether they've had the 60k service, and none have - what chances do you reckon I have of them throwing the service in? I gather it's a biggie. I'm avoiding everything at the moment without a service history. Has anyone had experience of this sort of thing? Any good stories with dealers? Cheers Pete
