if i get an apexi s-afc fuel controller, and a s-acv boost controller do i still need to get the ecu chipped? i thought the ecu had to be chipped to change the fuel mapping and limits, but would the fuel controller override this? oh and does anyone know of a decent air/fuel ratio meter? will the apexi show this? i dunno. and while i'm at it why doesnt nayone appear to do a charge cooler for the 300? as opposed to intercoolers

Firstly im 20 and the best quote i've found for my UK car is about £1160 from Budget. Surprised me they've beaten all others ive tried?! Secondly, does just an aftermarket exhaust make any difference to a quote in your experiences as isn't it pretty much accepted they're cheaper and/or last long than a manufacturers replacement? And thirdly, different wheels make a difference? Cheers boyzies:cool:

Following a strange non operation of the PC this morning (PSU most likely...no fan operation) have removed the hard drive and tempory fitted to a new machine in place of the cd rom/dvd I can access all the data ok and have started transfering files, folders and images that I need. However this is going to take days at this rate, is there any way I can store the whole contents of my old hard drive to my new pc hard drive? so that I can remove it from the new machine and either access the data as I need it or transfer it as I need it rather than having the old drive hanging out of my new machine for days? My new machine has a much much bigger hard drive so space i…

Has anyone uprated their pedals? im mainly having problems with my clutch pedal at times, due to my trendy taste in trainers ;) my foot sometimes slips. I would ideally like a pedal with a lot more grip than the stock ones.

I thought that title would get your attention! But my car is like a big vibrator! Driving home today along the good old M4,I noticed my car was vibrating, not much but enough for me to pull onto the hard shoulder to check the wheels. I could feel it litrally through the seat of my pants! I can't find anything obvious and will go to my local tyre place tommorrow to get balancing and tracking checked, although I only had it done about 4 months ago when I had new tyres! Hopefully it's nothing too expensive!! Cheers, F.T.

OK, I’ve noticed some talk about engine additives and this subject does tend to crop its little head up now and then. Therefore, I am going to share my experiences with you. Firstly, Slick 50. I don’t want to say much about this but last time I heard they were being sued for a number of engine failures and/or false claims about their product? This could be wrong. Does anyone have any further information on this? Secondly, After a great deal of research on engine additives I have found a US based company who specialise in additive/cleaning and servicing products to the automotive industry – BG Products. I have in fact tried and tested some of their products …

Morning! I've been hearing a lot of speak lately on this forum about soft rebuilds/SE fast-road rebuilds/AT services. I've tried to contact SE but can't get an answer so I'm going to ask the obvious here. What exactly is done to the A/T as SE and what is a soft rebuild? Also, I've spoken to a few Zed owners who had their A/T serviced, i.e., new fluids etc, and they have had horrendous problems a couple of weeks down the line. 9 times out of 10 the cause of the problem was gunk dislodged by the fluid change. I've been contemplating getting my A/T serviced but am a bit hessitant to do so given the potential problems. Anyway, any insight into the above is greatly a…

Hi guys, Just a quicky - I know it is on the wrong part of the forum but I haven't got posting rights to the for sale section - does anyone know where I can obtain a cheap PCMCIA 56k modem. I don't want one that incorporates an ethernet connection, just a simple modem. Have been looking around but can't seem to find them for under £50. Any feedback appreciated. Cheers, Danny

In the last couple of days I've had two people tell me about needing to do some work on the underside of a jap import after it arrives :( What are they on about? Are the imports not rust protected underneath or something? If this is the case, have any of you with imports done anything about this? Thanks in advance

Hi all, might sound like a silly question, but I am treating my Z to a new set of front rubbers tomorrow. The old tyres are 225x40x18 but I know a few people have got 235x40x18's on the front. What should I go for? Same as old ones 225's or replace them with 235's. Does it actually make any difference to the way the car will drive? Any help or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks Glenn
