Hi guys, After i get the old gearbox sorted i was thinking of de-catin! But i need to know what are really the chances of the turbo seals going? 10%, 50%, 99.999999%? ita '90 uk spec auto - engine rebuild in '99, not sure if the turbos were changed, FULL service history, until it came to me:D ....it got even full'er....hehe And IF the seals do go, will they be beyond repair, i mean could i get away with putting bk in the old cats and salvaging whats left of the turb's?? info much appreciated, i know this topic has prob been bought up loads of time! just need re-assurance - if thats possible!!:) nice1 jaz

Could anyone help me please? I've just come back from a few days break and upon firing up the batmobile, have encountered a slight problem .... She fires up fine:D But will only run for about a second, hunts around at about 5 revs then dies:( Have just repeated the start/stop process about 15 times, without success ... bugger. BTW, first time I fired her up, there was a 20 seconds of running, followed by erratic revs, then died. Can't see anything loose, otherwise untoward under the bonnet. Any ideas/similar experiences? ThankZ, John.

I would like some advice on fixing the Number Plates onto my Paul Bailey Front & Rear bumpers. Are there holders available? It is the front one that I am particularly interested in. Is there a moulding available that has the shape of the bumper on one side and the flat mounting for the number/registration plate. I am not so worried about the back as this is a flat surfice. I see there are ones advertised for the MX5/Eunos front, but do not know if they can be adapted. Appreciate your help and advice. Thanks, Geoff

Whilst on a trip down to Nottingham last night, I had a friend join me on the journey who was yet to experience the power of the Z. Most of the journey to Nottingham consisted of him giggling like a school girl every time the G-Force pinned him to the seat. I warned him to belt up but it wasn't until he felt himself sliding up the back of the seat that he took me seriously. On the way there, I didn't really give it that much pope, even though to him we were breaking the sound barrier.(I'm sure most of you that have had passengers before can relate). However, on the way back he was curious as to how quick the car really was and said, "Now we're doing 80mph right…

Right, having just totalled £134   in petrol receipts since last wednesday, and got off the floor and calmed down I think it would be cheaper to run a £300 Escort or something on third party insurance only, to run as a daily driver instead of the Zed. Obviously I've been cruising around more than the average week at work but still :( Do all ins companys do this ie not fire or theft but TP only? Got the Mondeo but want something a lot cheaper to run and insure. Cheers for any advice Pete

Hi, I am sure I heard on TT.net that there was a difference in PTU's between the different models! Did this apply to the UK models or just the USA recall on the Series I PTU's? Mark

Reading some posts - or just living in the 21st Century - sometimes it seems that every business there is is trying to rip us off. But I just found out that there are official people whose job it is to help us out. They're called Trading Standards and to find your local one just look at http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/ I'm having a barney with a third-party who did some work on my ZX. They're saying it's someone else's fault. So I called my Trading Standards people and they told me what to do. There is such a thing as "Breach of Contract". Many things can cause this - one of which is "failing to use reasonable care and skill". And - if you pa…

First off - never get anything on credit you can't afford. It'll all end in tears - so don't. But if you have paid over £100 for something with your credit card (not debit card or charge card), then you have a comeback if it goes wrong. Under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, the credit card company is "equally and severally liable" if there is a breach of contract on a sale. For example if you pay over £100 for mechanical work on your motor and there is a breach of contract (late delivery, departure from agreed work, not reaching agreed specs etc), the credit card company is just as liable as the company who let you down. So if the company won't cough…

Z recently went into *****wood Nissan Tunbridge Wells (who I have been using for years) for manual gearbox oilchange. Next day from cold: difficult gear selection, horrible dry bearing noise, bearing rattle from box. After much deliberation (they almost changed the clutch)they put "a lighter oil "in, cured first two problems instantly , still rattles on cold start which wasn't there when it went in ... "oil was within Nissan parameters sir"...... What should the oil grade have been before I take legal advice???

91 Uk Spec Auto 101K has been leaking what seemed to me a silicone type of substance. fairly clear but very viscous from center rear of the car over the last 2 days Thought it may have been a rear bushing as I had just done my front ones recently which seemed to seep the same type of substance. Dropped to mechanic who confirmed it was the rear difff seal had gone. Anyone know where to get these and how much. I would have thought the Diff oil would have been much darker?? Help appreciated Roy
