Hey guys I'm looking for some help on a mates Z . The car will start from cold and run ok until it gets up to temp...... then it splutters and dies and refuses to start. Is there a known problem that fits the description? I'm thinking along the lines of a temperature controlled switch / valve? The car has recently had new PTU's, so I'm hoping these can be ruled out Thanks in advance

In response to earlier topics about oil additives and how good engine oils are... Only top-tier oils (the best and most expensive) are formulated for the best performance. Whether they could be significantly better (for normal use) is doubtful. The reasons for this are... 1. Oil additives do some wonderful things like reducing friction, reducing wear, reducing oxidation and dispersing soot particles etc.. But, only so much is beneficial, because... Additives to reduce wear and friction COMPETE with each other, and there is only so much surface area within an engine. Additives do not LUBRICATE. The base oils lubricate the engine, so excess additives mer…

Hi, Does anyone who has run their own speaker cable to the fronts from the head unit mind sending me some information on how to go about it? My original wiring is shot and I want to run some new wiring. I've got no problem removing the head unit, and getting to the back of it, and I don't have any trouble taking the panels off the doors either. My only worry is how (and where) to run the wires from the back of the head unit, and through the rubber wiring tunnel to the door. I'm assuming I'll have to remove some panelling like the glovebox and/or bits of the dashboard, but I've not done this and can't find any info about doing this. Are there any pit…

As a young man, Norton was an exceptional golfer. At the age of 26, however, he decided to become a priest, and joined a rather peculiar Order. He took the usual vows of poverty, chastity, but his Order also required that he quit golf and never play again. This was particularly difficult for Norton, but he agreed and was finally ordained a priest. One Sunday morning, the Reverend Father Norton woke up and realizing it was an exceptionally beautiful and sunny early spring day, decided he just had to play golf. So... he told the Associate Pastor that he was feeling sick and convinced him to say Mass for him that day. As soon as the Associate Pastor left the room, Fath…

Hi All, I'm getting a replacement exhaust system from Top Gear. They are doing the whole system in stainless including front pipes (good price too!). The guy was on about not being able to do the actual downpipes 'cos they have some tubes coming off so they leave these in place and sleeve the new pipes just in front of where the cats used to be. Are these tubes the AIV connectors?? Can they be safely removed? I'd sooner have the whole thing in stainless if possible. TIA! RobH

Hi all, I need help ! ;) You're probably going to tell me where to go with this one, but would anyone like to help me out getting a few 300zx's on my home page ?. I've set up two picture galleries. One for meetings and another entitled "Your 300zx's". At the moment I've only got my car on there. All I need it 6 photo's, front, rear, side, interior, engine and boot (with or without ICE). I know some of you have these already in the rides section, but I don't want to put them on my site without your permission. Anyone want to help me out ?

Just wanted to share my joy at only having one week until I get me Zed back again. It`s been at Jeffs for almost a month now having little bits and bobs done. Just bought an espace as a second car.....bit of a difference to the Zed, should be fun driving back. By the way, mine`s an auto and I must say that while it may not be as quick as a manual it is faster top end (if not by much) but I always think the engine is safer from damage being linked to an auto tranny. The revs generally keep lower and having driven a manual I`m glad to have bought an auto. My parents car is an auto (jag) and the box in the Zed just blows it away for sheer engine control. Just my opinion…

Guys and gals need your advice. My rear panel has leaked liquid and looks naf in the daylight. It still lights up but I am not impressed with the product after splashing out £150. I have attached a photo, what should I do. I don't blame Smithy as he has tried to get in touch with the guy in the states and so have I, but we just get ignored. Do you think I should be complaining and what can I do next, put it on TT.net for example. Ideas anyone?? Cheers Martin

Drove the zed to the garage this eve ready for its repairs (will have it back in a few days after a 2.5 month wait :D ) and my dash lights were all over the shot. They were dim at one end then the other, after hitting the top of the dash certain lights came on and then off again , tis all very strange. Anyone else had this problem, if it is any help I had a dead battery and had to jump start her, but everything else seemed ok. Thanks for all help Cheers Martin

Got my nw Z TT today. Its my first auto. What does the power switch actually do?? I think it holds the gears in longer but I am not too sure whether it makes any difference. Why does the car seem to go faster when overdrive is off? Even at low gears. I always thought overdrive was like a 6th gear for cruising. A word about manual boxes. I floored it with O/Drive off, power switch on on a slightly damp straight road and in second the car could hardly stay on the road - so if you want to live longer drive an auto. Fu*k knows what a manual TT would be like - how do you manual TT boys keep them on the road? Whats the point of all that power with no control…

Having taken my old shagged shocks off, went to fit the new Koni adjustables AND Kit comprised of 2 shocks, 2 loose cups, 2 plastic washers and new nuts. The cups slide over the insert but continue to slide the whole way down the shock until they reach the bottom bracket! I cannot find anyway the cups would be held in situ, there is no mounting of any sort on the shock casing, is this a case of just the wrong shocks being sent or am I missing something obvious. If anyone has any piccies Id be gratefull. Oh and thanks to Macca for listening to my confused rambles....?

As you may have gathered I am a happy man. Time to get some sleep after the 326 mile journey to buy it. But they were good miles. Coming back anyway ;) Brian.
