Am I correct in thinking, If you put a Jap speedo, including the electrics attached to it which moves the needle, into a UK dash, the speedo will then start working in KPH. I.e. if I was doing 50mph will the Jap speedo show 80KPH in a UK dash? Stuart

I have an oil leak on my 300 from the passenger side front of the engine that drips onto the a/cond pump. Tomorrow i am gonna replace the cam seals but i cant actually see where the oil is coming from. Would the leak possibly be coming from the head gskt from the oil galleries to the rockers or maybee am i right in thinking the cam seals are leaking. Has anyone noticed where in the block the oil galleries are, my thinking is if the galleries in the head are at the outside of the block face then thats where my leak is. Any help appreciated Cheers John Crisp

Hi all, I had new front tyres fitted to the Z today and it was a high performance tyre speciallist who did it for me. After messing about trying to get one of his trolley jacks under the car I finally got the tyres done. I asked if they could do the tracking for me and without any hesitation they said NO:mad: Sorry mate it's a specialists job on one of those!! I have also tried 3 or 4 other places and they all give me the same response. Is this right?? is it a specialists job or is it that they can't be bothered. What are your experiances with tracking and can someone like ATS do it??? Cheers Glenn

Guys i have used motorup in my previous two cars and the motorup made a great difference. The car revved more freely, felt smoother and fuel economy improved. My Subaru i had for prox 10,000 miles and the motorup worked well and in the EVO same again i had for 10,000 miles no probs. I think if you use it for long periods of time there may be probs, but in the short run its fine. My Z is arriving from Japan in March and i was going to put some MOTORUP in that but now im unsure.mmmmmmmm Ray

Quick Question does it matter which way round the plus and the minus go on the injectors it just that some tit before me cut all the injector connectors off and replaced them with little individual connectors which keep falling off and touching each other etc. anyway ordered some new ones from Courtesy and the plus which i presume would be the thicker of the two wires is the other way round on the connector so i have a thick plus wire going in to a thin plus wire on the connector and a thin minus wire going on to a thick minus wire on the connector Confused:confused: would this be ok or can i swap them over (thick to thick) (thin to thin) sorry if th…

Anyone know of a good garage/engineer in Teesside (or surrounding area) that has dealt with 300ZXs? I'm just looking for someone who I can trust to help as/when needed! I'm happy enough to go further afield on recommendation, say to Newcastle, but local would be best. Ta, StuartR

So, (sit down, I'm going to moan :)) After nearly ten years with my Z, I'm finally starting to get annoyed with having to drive 1mph over speed bumps at cross camber, park at the back or the supermarket, watching all the new low side skirts. Having no one available that I can trust to do simple work on my Z is very annoying, the last two garages I had an argument, one lost various bits trying to upgrade the shocks, scratched a door and fitted em wrong, also one of the adjusters is broken. (I will be trying Eurospec in Camberley next time I need a garage for minor work). That's all okay to a certain point, but as my friend pointed out when I was moaning ab…

I've just moved and am back onto a modem connection. Worse than that, I only seem able to connect at 28.8 and not 56. Is this a sign that the phone line quality is poor and the PC is able to recognise this or is there something else wrong ? The modem settings are for 56K and it worked at 56K when I last used it. I've tried two different dialup numbers with different companies and the speeds are the same. Dave P.S. The house move is also why I haven't send out the Le Mans info to all you who mailed me. Sorry and it will be soon - forms are all copied and I just need to write up notes for you.

The guy was selling his cos he just bought a brnd new BMW M3!, he picked me up from the train station in it! gee man it only had 45 miles on the clock!! very nice. so i guess my days are numbered on here, its been great fun guys and thanks to everyone for their help and advise (especially macca). cheers stev…

Hi folks, I took the Z for a good long blast today(first time in ages) enjoyed every second, BUT after about half an hour of motorway driving the Hicas light came on:eek: The car still behaved as it should etc but the light carried on glowing making me feel very uneasy!!! Once I had stopped and turned off the engine I restarted it and the light went off as it should. I thought "nice one, it must have been a faulty sensor or something" But to my horror after another half an hour on the motorway it came back on again:confused: I might be wrong but I am convinced it came on both times when I gave the car a quick burst over 90mph, does anyone know what this could be?? I can'…

I have a standard 1991 manual TT import. Since fitting 18" rims MPG has dropped from around 19mpg to 15mpg under normal driving conditions. Fitted 235/40/18 front, 265/35/18 at the rear. I understand they are bigger than standard and will throw the speedo out slightly. but not to loose 4mpg? did calc, should only be 3%, anyone else had similar probs? Any Ideas? Also want a superchip. Does this affect mpg under normal driving conditions?

Anyone else tried this, one of mine has some play in it, so I'm planning on doing it soon. The one I'm talking about is the one that the HICAS arm fits onto that's pressed into the hub carrier. Just wondering how difficult it is, and if it can be done without taking the whole hub carrier off the car?
