According to the gargage I just went to they will only check the spec and adjust the toe-in if necessary. The camber is all extra work, not part of the adjustment. Is this normal? They were very angry beacuse it already took them twice as long as normal and flipped when I asked (yes, only asked) for the measurements... well, why not? Happy happy people... that's what I like.... Jez.

At this time of year the Z rarely sees the outside of the garage. So with no rain and a dry road (almost), I decided to drive to work in the Z. Now from the house just west of Cambridge to the office in Newmarket it's 95% on the A14 dual carriageway, except where the A11 joins it where it becomes 3 lanes. I'm just tooling along in the outside lane of 2 at 75mph and this tosser in an Alfa GTV 3.0 comes rushing up my arse with full headlights and fogs on. As I'm overtaking a couple of trucks, it takes a while for me to clear into the inside lane. And all the time this prat is glued to my back bumper. To cut a long story short he rushes past as I'm barely out …

I'm test driving a 90 TT next week and was wondering what boost it should be running (just something else for me to check)? Also, what should the temp gauge read when the car is warmed up? What about idle? what rpm should it sit at when warmed up (bearing in mind that it'll probably be a cold day)? Will the check engine light flash error codes when the car is started or does the ECU need to be put into 'diag mode' or something? Are there any other things i can check by looking at the gauges while driving the car?

Is octane levels in fuel an issue in a Z TT? What fuel would you guys recommend for an import twin turbo? Is octane booster a good idea or can the timing sort itself out enough to compensate for the lower octane?

Just letting you guys know i think i'm going to sell my water injection system. Trouble is i dont think it would be that usable on a Z, you'd either need 2 systems or a few extra bits and adapt it. The problem is that you place the jet just after the intercooler and before the throttle body but a Z has 2!!! The benefits are:- Lower the burn temp greatly decreasing the likely hood of detonation and ur engine getting nackered! Lower the temp of the air entering the engine potentially giving slightly more power. And probably some other point's im not aware of. About £310 new, 3 months old, unused still in box, offers around £200 Just letting y…

Anyone actually taken out any storage insurance for their 300?? Anyone knows which insurance companies offer it??? Reason for asking is, I am hopefully, fingers crossed, collecting my first Z on Thursday (small dance of celebration as its taken nearly 6 months to get it!!!). It needs some work doing so is off to the workshop. Once mechanically sorted it'll come home whilst I sort out some bodywork mods and get it painted. So I dont really want to lash out on full blown cover when I aint gonna be driving it for a few months. Besides, it doesnt have an alarm or immobiliser fitted at the moment so I'll end up with a crap quote anyway, hence the storage insurance id…
