Cerina was driving back from the airport this morning. Gave it a little off the lights (well she was trying to race a 600 bandit) good girl  Changed to 2nd no probs. Foot down on clutch for 3rd and cruch it's not going in foot off pedal but pedal doesn't come back . Pulled over. Engine off. Lifted the clutch up by hand, pressed down but no pressure what so ever. Car would not go in gear. Opened the bonnet and checked for loss of fluid. Couldn't see any loss. Send a few text messages. Thanks to Andy Duff, Paul C, Jaffa, Peter(PPS) for your concerns, advice and well wishes. Clutch Pivot Ball ?, Slave or Master Cylinder ? What's the procedur…

No joke answers please . Both Power ID and Blitz Boost Controller no longer powered up (wired into clock). No rear windscreen wiper or washers (fronts are still ok). No Electric mirrors. Everything else seems ok, i.e. indicators, stereo, windoes etc. Have I just blown a number of fuses somewhow or is there one main fuse that controls the lot ?

What can cause a lot of grey/white smoke from the exhausts? It smells a bit oily to me and it looks like a bonfire from both pipes. Is there anything I could have plumbed in wrong that could cause it? Where do I start to find the cause?

Need some advice guys. Put new exhaust backbox (standard from AndyZ) on my Jap TT on Monday, MOT when through fine on Tuesday, drove it properly on Wednesday. Some white smoke coming out the passeneger exhaust, assumed it was just condensation from the new backbox. Smoke stopped, no problems. Thursday heard a rattling sound which turned into a very loud knocking as I was finding somewhere to stop. AA out, £140 flat bed towtruck home. Running theory is that the passeneger side head gasket went, which dumped the oil out the back, as there is a little oil out the backbox... that was what the smoke was, which stopped presumably cos the cat got blocked up. Then I re…

hi all, just disconnected my battery to reset my ecu's. the problem im having is 1st to 2nd being a bit delayed and jerky. once i have reset the ecu's, is there any set procedure to follow to get the gearbox to re-learn itself properly. reason im asking is on my onld bmw auto, you had to follow a certain set pattern of driving to get gearbox to learn correctly. see link below, do u think this should apply to our auto's too http://membres.lycos.fr/technice31/Files/manual_0067.jpg

I was looking on ebay and i found an Eprom chip for a 300zx non turbo it says its best suited for stages 1-5 tuning i currently have GREDDY SP2 SYSTEM,DE CAT PIPE,STILLEN HEADERS,NISMO CLUTCH,FINDIZA FLYWHEEL, LIGHTEND CRANK PULLEY,DENSO IRIDIAM PLUGS. The chip is only 30 pounds plus some one to fit it, this is very cheap for 10-15 bhp is this correct. While iam on the subject of power will a HKS TWIN POWER give any more power i know it gives a better spark. Any thing that any one can sugest about an increase in power on my N/A will be much appriciated. thanks Ray

Is it MOT OK to convert one of the reversing lights, with a bit of transluscent red paint to a fog light. I know you have to have a 'tell tale' light inside, but are there any restrictions on the height and brightness of the thing/ The way I see it is that a 21W reversing light, coloured red, is just right. And you don't need 4 reversing lights. My car has an MOT from the garage that sold it to me, but no fog light. They MUST of put it on for the MOT and then went to the bother of takng it off again!!!!!! :xxx: Thank you for your advice Chris Davies

i know a few of you have posted about high idle/surging so i thought id post my findings. had done all the usual several times ( clean TB's, reset then replaced TPS, cleaned then replaced engine temp sensor & harness etc), but still had an idle that would suddenly jump up to 1500rpm. took the plunge & removed & cleaned out the idle control valve. it was a bit of a git to remove as its quite tight at the back of the plenum (pass side). not too bad but if your gonna take it of get a new gasket first. mine broke up & i had to make a new one!! once it was off i could see the electrical contacts were very corroded, i think this was prob most…

I think this car is cursed, no way am i going to make it to Billing AGAIN! I've tried adjusting the clutch pedal but there's still almost no movement on the slave cylinder on the box  I've bled the system 3 times from the 3 screws (newer type master cylinder) and there's no air coming out. I presume it's go to be a faulty master or slave cylinder but how can I find out which one? Slave cylinder is fairly cheap but not sure about the master cylinder... Has anyone got spare ones I can borrow or buy?

Just fitted my new wheel and well chuffed with it :D It feels fantastic compared to the tatty leather on the old one. But oh my god, look at those gaps round the boss. That can't be right can it? Have I been sold the wrong boss kit (looks to be a momo 12112113507) or do people blank those gaps off with something? Cheers David
