my auto seems to slam itself into 2nd. 2nd to 3rd is smooth as silk but 1st to 2nd seem to have a slight delay then you get jerked forward when ut changes. this happens at all but slight acceleration. my gearbox on way out of something simplier.

I traced my misfire problem (or so I thought) to a dodgy coil pack connector and a dodgy injector connector. I also put a new battery in, and the car idles much better. When I first start (cold), the revs sit at 1500 for a while, before dropping to 7 or 800 and staying there, with a very occasional "lumpy" sound through the exhaust (seems to be driver side). Here's the problem(s) - driving cold seems fine and smooth, when it warms up, the acceleration and cruising is very slightly lumpy. I haven't accelerated hard yet (or gone into boost), but accelerating moderately, the acceleration gets lumpier over 3000, and starts misfiring badly at around 4000 - after whic…

I seem to remember that on a manual car the traction control has a switch on the clutch for launch control? How does it connect to the TC box? I seem to have lost the instructions and any cable it came with as the TC was fitted to my Z when it was an auto.

Converted from auto to manual and i've got 2 switches on the clutch pedal that aren't connected to anything. I know one is a cruise control cut switch but not sure what the other is. Should these be connected to anything?

Shall I install my AVCR now or shall I install it after the engine is run in. Doing it later will make the det sensor work which important when running in, I think. Plus it could remove temptation of turning the boost up. or shall I stop being soft and install it?

Got the heater matrix sorted. Great, no leaks inside the car, no steam out of the vents and the coolant level is static. Just one thing..... every now and then, after I turn the engine off, steam comes out from under the bonnet, seeemingly on the right hand side. Its NOT coolant (wrong taste) and I'm not losing water! Whats that all about? Any ideas, please let me know! Ed :hyper:

All, Shamefully, I kerbed the nearside wheel turning right over a mini-roundabout yesterday. The Alloy looks OK (scratched but not buckled), but the kerb seems to have put a bit of a tear into the sidewall of my tyre. The tear is a V-shape, in the direction of the turning wheel, starting from where it meets the (stock) alloy, and has basically peeled back some of the rubber. The thing that concerns me is the depth of it. I reckon it's probably 3-4mm deep (into the rubber) at the lowest point (it slopes inward over about an inch and a half). This is a Toyo Proxes T1S tyre with not much wear at all. I'm basically worried about a possible blow-out where the …
