i got some meguairs "detailing" system which includes a lump of clay :cool: the clay makes your paintwork as smooth as glass it's a great product :hyper: got it off ebay any one else clay their Zed

Does any one know what the compression ratio of a non turbo 300zx , i think its 9.6.1 . Becouse i want to raise my compression ratio , and how high is the safest without getting preingnition or pinging .

My 1993 zx import says something bout SRS on the sun visor indicating the car has an airbag. Is this right?

As my usual mechanic is neither contactable (mostly) or bothers to answer ANY of the e-mails (bar-one) in the last 3/4 weeks I have sent asking for help/ support/ information/ costs (usual stuff!!), I have come to the conclusion that I need another mechanic. The rear anti-roll bar on my 92 UK recently snapped! (and I do mean the bar - not the link arms). This is despite not being very corroded ( - I saw someone else on this site suffered the same problem). Anyway, I just got a good 2nd hand one from AndyZ, which I have fitted, but I noticed it was slightly thinner than the original one (about 80% of the diameter of the original), but otherwise exactly the same. Does anyone know the reason for the difference? The replacement probably came off an import, but a TT or N/A? Maybe all imports have the thinner Bar? Or, was the spec changed for the series 2? Started car at lunch and had a very very loud rattle/grinding noise coming from the engine. Stopped engine and started it again and the noise had gone :confused: . Any ideas? The only thing I could think of maybe started motor not disengaging? Drove car for ten min and no sign of noise coming back.

Hi guys, I just down to my local Autobacs (in Japan) to buy an Apex'i Power Intake Filter. The guy I spoke to looked it up in the catalogue and said that it was strongly recommended that it be installed with the Apex'i Air/Fuel computer S-AFC-II. I had a look at the catalogue myself and he was indeed right. I asked him about it but he didn't know much so I got him to call Apex'i and ask. They said that without the fuel computer you risk having rough idle and running slightly too lean risking engine damage. Something to do with the "dual funnel" design of this filter resulting in too smooth airflow for the air meter to measure accurately. Not sure though, my Japa…

Someone has smashed the glass on my drivers side side view mirror, (just the glass). The worst thing was it was on my drive. I have CCTV on it so am checking the video, i think it might be the window cleaner. Typical as well someone is coming to buy it on friday!!! Does anyone know where i can get replacement glass/ mirror for it and how much

Have just tried the TPS adjustment. Put the paperclip in the middle wire on the connector on the side and got 0.0125 volts. Put it in the middle wire on the one that comes out the bottom and got 9.52v from the plug! Am I doing it wrong - please advise. P.s. could someine write up an FAQ on this? Ivan

Hi all just had the fibreglass replica spoiler fitted (usual story - OE one like a sodden sponge :rolleyes: ) However I seem to have lost the 2 bits of trim that fill the void between the tail-gate and the top of the rear lights (either side of that "gap" under the brakelight where you should insert your hands to lift the boot...... Is this part of the OE spoiler or can I buy them separately? Thanks Richard :)

Hi all Just bought a 3rd brake light to fit on my UK Zed (Cheers, AndyZ :cool: ) and have a couple of questions...... 1) do the UK cars have the wiring in the tailgate ready to accept the plug from the brake light? 2) what bulbs do they take? rear cover of lights says 13w but Halfords :rolleyes: and local motor factors stock the capless bulbs in 10w, 16w or 21w...... ive just been to pick my car up from my garage from having after market gages fitted and when i started it up the auto box was making lots of noise when you rev the car ? its never done this before !! when i went up the road and stoped at a set of lights all my gears went and would not move ??? i found if you swicth of the engine off the box works again and the gears come back to life. i got it back to the garage and checked it all over and we are at a loss :cry: checked and put some more oil in thats ok thers a rattle and a whine and it stops if you turn engine off and back on again but after 2 mins its back and the gears stop working???? help please. any i…

Having sifted through the advice section, its great to see so many suggestions of possible causes of problems, but the biggest lack of information is what finally cured the thing. Please if you get a result and someones advice pays off, post it on the end of the thread so others who may be experiencing the same circumstances have a chance of a fix without going through all the agro of following every piece of advice until they get the same result that you got by doing the same thing, could save a lot of wasted time and effort. I do like to get to know the ins and outs of my car but results would make it so much easier sometimes. Ta very much.

started off as a mis fire and now she wont start, iv checked all the coils and connections but still no joy, so i did a spark test to find that there is no spark, what does this mean?
