Does anyone have an idea why my speedo's not working? (speedo on the car that is not my swimming trunks!! :o ) it's showing speed revs etc but not clocking up any miles

I heard it's bad to jack up my 300 under the seam at the bottom of the bodywork. Surely as it's the standard the method with the standard jack it can't do it any harm? Can anyone tell me (without too many technical words) how it's best to jack the car up? I could get a puncture anytime and I'll need my tyres changing soon and I don't want the tyre people to do it wrong either. Thanks

My brake calipers went a bit white when I cleaned my wheels with wheel cleaner and got a bit on them. They'd probably go back to being ok with a wipe of WD40 but I thought about trying some of that coloured lacquer I've seen advertised. Has anyone tried it? Is it easy to use? Does it give good results? Or is in nasty and naff and best avoided?

Hi Guys, just this min finished removing the plenum so that i can change this bloody defective Injector(no5)before Billing. After some rather tense moments when the plastic connector broke away, i finally got it out. The end was covered in s#t n muck, alot of which id wiped off before thinkin about putin up some pics After removing the injector i thought id check the plugs out, as you can see in the pics the plug on the left looks old. When i went to undo it,it was already loose! I had the plugs changed the last time it was at SE Nissan(3 months ago) and i think they mighta forgot to take that one out!!? :eek: Does anyone know why the plugs electrode would h…

Ooooops put £7 diesel in before i reilised what i done,had to get home so filled up with optimax (£35 ish) seems to run ok, do i need to empty tank or can i just keep filling up to dilute it. Will it do any harm to engine?

I need to fix the following problems with my car but cant think which one to start with. any idea's needs service needs flush of coolant system pulls slightly to left needs new front break pads still slight vibration when braking, less so since fitted poly bushes but still there. looses boost after about 4 fast runs, can go down just a little or into saftey depends what moods it in, more likley to goto saftey boost if i try to accelerate to hard with o/d switched on. 0/s front decat pipe got a hole. jerky gearchange from auto box from 1st to 2nd electric fan doesnt seem to work, cant be moved by hand so probally jammed, though have a spare in the gar…

Just got the car back from the local nissan dealer after a cambelt change and some numbnuts managed to break the plastic shield around the radiator fan in half!!!! the cheeky *****cks then just put it back on still in two pieces and didnt bother to tell me. Also they charged to change my oil and brake fluid yet the two litres of 5.1 I put in the boot havent been touched!!!!! Stoopid question but where is the oil filter? I want to check they have actually put a new one on the car and changed the oil! (on checking the residue on the filler cap the oil still seems really grubby, I would expect it to be a lot cleaner after a change....)

ive just done a diagnostic test on my auto.....the first flash is longer than the other 10.....does this mean the revoloution senser is shorted or disconnected??? what is the revoloution senser?? where is it???? symptoms are very late chaging into 3rd gear or not changing into 3rd gear but pulling in some gear at high revs after missing through the rev range untill it redlines,theres no mechanical noise or vibration from the box. the box was rebuilt 10,000 ks aga at the cost of £1500. please help even with the sarky answers the will cheer me up in my hour of gloom thanks fellas :bow:

Hello, if your gonna be at the Reading jap meet this Tuesday is there any chance you coan bring your lap top to see why my car is running safety boost. Now the gearbox is fixed and it has an uprated clutch I want to try and utilise it. Theres a pint in it for yeah, pleeeeaase :hyper:

Had the rears replace today, thinking that the fronts just needed to be rebalanced to get rid of a bid of vibration. Was horrified to find out that the innermost inch of tread on both front tyres has worn away to almost nothing, leaving the rest of the tread looking like new. Any ideas what could have caused this?

I've run on Silkolene Turbolene for the last couple of years but can't seem to get any this time :confused: One place that used to sell it (Roadrunner) have Silkolene Pro S (10/50) and Silkolene Pro R (15/50) the rally car version. They're both about £40, as was the Turbolene. Does anyone know if Turbolene has been phased out, and if these others are any good ? Cheers ! konrad

Has anyone with a UK car installed APEXi BOV’s recently? If so, how did you access them? I have tried moving the fan out of the way but it will not go past the oil cooler and intake pipes. The fan has to move as there is no access to the far 12mm bolt holding the re-circ in place. I cannot move the oil cooler as the bolts have rusted solid and I have already sheared one off, can’t risk any more. If anyone has a decent method, please post it up!

I have heard a few rumours regarding this! One is that on a BB turbo the oil is sprayed onto the Ball Bearings and requires a different oil feed pipe to do this? On a normal thrust bearing turbo, it is more of a drip feed, anyone know for sure?

Can the radiator be moved backwards a bit (towards the engine) without taking off any water hoses? Tried to fit my BOV's yesterday again and I can't get the fan out past the oil cooler. I tried to move that and snapped one of the bolts - they're all rusted solid so don't want to pursue that route. To get the fan out now I wanted to move the rad back a bit which would allow enough tilt to wiggle it past the air intake pipes. Nothing is simple on this car :mad:

well, thought I would have a weekend of attaching bits!! fitted new apexi intake (Thanks to Chris@getgreddy;)) front strut brace (Thanks to Danny) and new hks dump valves complete with hard pipes (Cheers Ryan) well have fitted the d/v's as instructed, made sure all t pieces were secured with teeny tiny jubi clips so as airtight as poss (after idling problem discussed with Ryan) checked and double checked the clips onto the intakes themselves. now apart from needing to remove/cap off the factory recircs why should it do the following: 1.if shifted into park or Neutral it cannot settle at a steady idle goes from almost nothing to about 11/1200 then eventually cuts…

i have a jap spec decatted twin turbo and have recently fitted a mongoose exhaust. my garage has tols me that the manifold pipe has a hole in it so i wan to replace it. can i get a stainless steels one. if not can where can i get a front decat pipe. cheers marcus

Still toying with the idea on some new alloys, preferably 19 inch. Depending on style of alloy, I might go for the bigger brake upgrade similar to Chris @ getgreddy's or 3g's, which mount the caliper slightly higher. Is there any chance the alloys wont fit with the brake conversion. Do I get the wheels I want, they order the brake upgrade and find they dont fit? Cant do the brake upgrade first as they wont fit on standard rims. Thanks in advance. Barry.

i have a bit of a problem havnt had the car that long all seems fine mechanically even got a new HKS superdragger on it but both the cats are dead so as this is an import can i de cat it or do i need to replace them and any idea where as the local nissan dealer wants an arm and both me legs :confused: :confused:

Hi... My z has a dead battery. Simple I hear you say, charge it up. How do you get the f'ing bonnet open if I can't get into the car? The locks are all electric and the key just revolves around with nothing opening. The rear hatch has no key because I have a bodykit on it, so no entry there either. I have taken the nose section off the car (where the 'Z' logo normally goes) and have taken off the air filter so I can see the latch, but I still cant seem to trigger the bonnet open cable... Any ideas what I can do? other than smashing a window?
