Well it's my crankshaft that's making the noise in my engine. On the assumption it's just the bearings, how many hours labour do you guys think I'll be looking at paying to get the bearings replaced??? I'm being quoted 24 hours... is this realistic? Tried to get a quote out of Nissan for comparison, but that's like pulling teeth!!!! Cheers, David

Hi Paul! Just a quick question for you reference the above. I understand you provide window tinting services ... My J-spec ZX currently has a dark window tint on hatch window only with a silly horizontal strip removed ... no idea why because it doesn't line up at all with the mirror (even if I were a small Japanese guy). Local quotes to have that removed and re-tint the rear and all side windows are - if I'm being completely honest - extortionate (£320 and a day's work seems to be the norm). Was wondering if you could provide a "ballpark" quote for removing the existing tint and re-applying a dark tint on the rear, side and rear quarter windows. Thanks mate…

Just some Advice. The Zed was idling very high about 1600. So a mechanic I Know adjusted the throttle bodies. Which I said was not the right way to do it. How do I now adjust the TB's back. I think it's causing hesitation low down when pulling away! It seems if it's not taking up the slack from the cable. :confused:

A red UK J plate with little Scottish flags one the front plate northbound and a red import with dark tints southbound. Round about six o'clock. Anyone here? Typically, I wasn't driving mine - d'oh!

Can any know how to fit a fuel pressure regulator?? not sure and don't want fuel P***ing out everywhere as i drive along!!

My fuel gauge has stopped working. It was working before I filled up with fuel, but now it just hangs above the quarter tank mark. Sender or gauge do you think. Can you get to the sender through the boot floor or do you have to drop the tank? cheerz

From perusing the forum on a regular basis I gather that Shell Optimax is the preferred choice of fuel for a lot of ZX owners. Has anyone tried using BP Ultimate???? Is it as good as, or better than, Optimax?? Or doesn't it really matter........... According to BP's blurb it offers " sharper response, smoother acceleration, extra oomph. And it cleans your engine, giving out fewer emissions."

Guys, My car has gone into safety boost but why? :confused: It is a case of removing the ECU for an hour to reset it isnt it? Mark. :duffer:

Well, I just purchased a 1990 300zx and my first project was to install a new am/fm/cd player in the car in place of the stock Bose am/fm/cassette. With the help of the forum, I was able to by pass te 4 separate amps used on the Bose system and get my new unit to work fine (I plan to add a sub woofer in the near furture though). Now the problem, after installing the new unit, I noticed the headlights work only in the high beam position! (lights will not turn on in the "normal" position). Can anyone please help?! By the way, I did not connect the Illu. control or the amp signals to the new unit. I assume the amp signal was used on the old to somehow control the 4 sepa…

can anyone help me? just recently my front breaks have started to creak i've tried everything to stop them but with no luck, i went to a garage the guy said this is a comman fault with the 300zx is this true?

Hi, What is the easiest way to go when removing the engine from my89, auto, t/t. Engine and box out together, or leave the box in ?? Is the bolts around the bell housing even kinda accesible ? Can you unbolt the torque convertor from the flywheel, leaving it in place so the engine will come forward enough to lift out ? Cheers in anticipation, Alan....... :confused:

hia fellas, i got these fitted to the zed and when i bought them they were fitted with adjustable acctuators now im not sure if it was 13.5 psi :o looking on my digital boost gauge it looks although im only boosting 10 psi max what is the setting straight from turbo technics,?? do u think i have a leak somwhere will it be on the high pressure side of the turbo or am i looking for something else or do i need a boost controller ?? cheers

I've recently noticed a very odd honking noise during gear changes on my auto, it's pretty low pitched, not sure if it's always happened and I've only just realised but I'm fairly certain it's got louder. Only changes recently are a Blitz filter and an oil change... I know it's a bit vague but any idea what it might be?

typical, 3 days before billing and a hicas pipe splits on me, no good driving when the back end decides to start moving on its own

just took the car for a spin and the hicas sytems just gone, while i was drivin about 60mph the back started twitching, i know the oil has come out somewhere under the drivers side, but can't find the leak ! any ideas ! might not get to billing now f*ck. when the car is still does the sytem have lower presure

Noticed a very slight, but regular popping noise from the tail of the passenger side exhaust at idle (hot and cold). It's more evident when placing a hand over the exit pipe. The driver's side is fine, with a steady gas flow. Idle is smooth and car runs fine. It's an HKS exhaust, cats removed. Any ideas? Cheers Shahid

Are these tyres ok? I can get them for £57 fitted (each) while Pirellis etc seem to be about £100 each. Is it worth spending more? My main concerns are noise, longevity and grip in the wet. In the dry all tyres seem pretty good! My car is a N/A. Any recommendations and rough ideas what they'd cost? :dance: :dance:

Hi... I have a UK MAN zed, only mods are bodywork and a blitz breather. I am not into doing stuff myself, especially upgrades to power!! but want to know the most reliable and SAFE way to go to around 400bhp I'm guessing new injectors, bigger turbos, new chip, some work on the head to make it tougher etc... But you guys probably know better than me I'm mostly after a ballpark cost and also someone reliable who can do it down south..??? Over to you...

Here's mine, if I forgot all logic about living in London :D The new Z centre front bumper, can't remember what it's called now! Se bonnet and centre panel, same as crazy eddies, if it will fit with the zed centre jobbie? ChrisC's sideskirt and wide arse combo. Wingswest Rear bumper. kaminari rear spoiler or the stillen one (flat type), or the newest zed centre one :D Will really have to try to remember all these body part styling names :D Oh Yeah and chopping the roof ORRFFFFFF
