Just passed its MOT but warned that tyres will need replacing soon. Can anyone recommend where to get the best deal on new tyres? I've got Fulda Extremo on at present, 235s front and 255s on rear.

After my consolt at Billing got 2 o2 sensors out. just called my local car spares and they do universal o2 sensor for £35, anyone ever used these and would the spec be the same, they do a 1,3 & 3 wire one

hey guys just got z back from mot station, it failed on emmissions is there any upgraded sensors on the market or cant you get any better than standard! ive heard about wide band sensors but what is the advantage of these????? any help gratefully recieved! steven

my autos lost 3rd n overdrive unless u boot it right through the rev range!! also the power steering gets very stiff somtimes is this due to a fault on the speed sensor??? i dont suppose the speed sensor runs off the same fuse as the ciggeret lighter as it packed up at the same time as the gearbox???

Hi all. 1) I've noticed that there are 2 radiators in the engine bay - one with most of the piping (at the back towards the car), and the other towards the front of the car from what I can see only has one pipe into it. What's this one for? 2) I've picked up a small crack in the bottom corner of my radiator - where the metal meets the black plastic side-trim. I've recently (say 2 weeks ago) swapped my standard rad cap (1.2kg/cm2) with a Nismo rad cap (1.3kg/cm2). Would this slightly higher tolerance in pressure have caused the crack or is this a wild coincidence? Cheers!

Hi All, I'm new to the forum and could use some help. Just got a '90 Fairlady Z SWB jap import (N/A). She seems to be running ok, but I have noticed a few problems: 1. Main issue - after i stop driving there is a burning smell (bit like burning rubber?). Checked and wheels/brakes are ok (no smell). Seems to be coming from under the bonnet. Any ideas? 2. She pulls a bit to the left but this could be the tyres (they came off a Skyline where they were running 3 degree toe). Tracking has been done and wheels balanced. 3. Speedo going nuts after the conversion to MPH. Was fine until today (2 days after fitting) when it decided to jump up to 120Km…

iv got some new brake discs, and im gonna try to fit them myself. any useful advice would be great. iv got some brake cleaner and some copper grease ready, and should have discs and pads by friday. any tips or advice befor i start.

I am afer a new BBS centre cap but am told that I need a KBA number or somthing to order in a new one. I have looked on my wheels and cannot see such a number. I have been told this is likely to be because the wheels are from BBS Japan. I'm sure the caps will be the same and won't make a difference if they come from Japan or Europe. I would just like to chat to someone with similar BBS wheels and see if there is any difference in the way the caps go on etc. Anyone on here have these wheels on there Zed? Cheers, Justin

my 17s have this stamped on them KBA44495 could this mean a width of 9.5" i want to put 285/35x17 on the rear and 245/40x17 on the front will the 285s fit under std arches or does it depend on the offset? i currently have 235/45x17 on the rear and 225/50x17 on the front cheers

After finding my standard exhaust rear section has gone I got a quote from a local company to do a decat stainless steel exhaust system with dual 3" pipes & extra mid silencer for around £600 installed (still awaiting exact figure..) They have done quote a few performance systems, susposidly got some head guy of the GTO club getting his exhaust done there soon.. They seem decent people, had quite a long chat with some of them... Saw a few example exhausts... How does this sound for a custom exhaust? Cheers Barry

anyone know of a company that does uprated springs, but doesnt drop too much. as i cant be arsed with all that scraping over driveways/sleeping policemen etc!!

I have noticed that when I hit 5000 revs in 4th gear, I suddenly drop power. The car lunges forward and the boost drops out. The jerk is almost like I've hit the rev limiter or something. The problem does not occuir in any other gear as far as I can tell. The only other symptoms I noticed this morning were that when I started the car (either cold or after filling up with petrol), the car will hardly boost for the first few minutes. The needle gets to 0 (on stock and aftermarket) and no further. Is this safety boost? It clears after a few minutes and then is fine until I turn the engine off again for a few minutes. Other than that the car will boost to 11ps…

I have a query for all those with disabled HICAS. Has disabling HICAS reduced your turning circle whilst doing 3 point turns etc. My car came to me with HICAS already disabled and its an absolute mission turning my car around. 3 point turns have become 12 point turns. I dont mind this..its just a query

Have wanted to lower the zed for ages, but when i was at Billing it looked like a bloody oil rig in comparison to most of your zeds, so its getting done soon as. So what do you recommend? Eibach? Avo? Where will i get them for the best price? Should i replace the shockies aswell as the springs? All help appreciated.

Big time help req'd, My old starter motor broke the other day, so I got another second hand one, had it fitted but the car still doesn't start up. it makes a noise but not starting. The odd thing is that I can't even push start the car anymore......why?
