Different to the other clutch thread on here! :( I presume in my case it is the clutch itself that's knackered... Pulling away, changing gear is all fine. Biting point is in the middle of the clutch travel (though my clutch servo is disconnected at the mo). However, floor it, and when the turbos start dancing the revs jump up about 1000 without the car accelerating. Hoped it might be wheelspin on dodgy surfaces, but firstly it's not accompanied by any noise, and secondly I tried it round a bend and the back end stayed put. So the next bit, is what's the best clutch? The RPS Sport clutch seems well used so is it the best one to go for? And aside from …

Hello, I have recently found a water leak on the front driver side of my 90tt auto, has any body else found this problem. Have not had her up on ramps yet to investigate. Does any one know if the hoses are specially molded or can I use off the shelf hoses from Halfords/Motor World. And what size are they? Also she seemed to run better from cold than usual splutter. Any info would be appreciated.

I had the usual gargling problem from the AIV filter boxes. The reed valves that are supposed to allow air to flow into the exhaust but block exhaust gases flowing back the other way were leaking causing a lot of noise from the area under the wheelarch. I found that by simply disconnecting the plug to the AIV control solenoid under the bonnet the vacuum going down to the AIV valve block assembly is cut off and all AIV flow is stopped.Result,no more gargling (once the water is drained) and no more exhaust backflow. Hopefully this is an easier solution than removing all the AIV stuff.

Zed failed mot on cracks in front pipes. So purchased some more. They have not got the mountings for what I assume are the O2 sensors in the cats. Can these still be fitted. My zed is a series 1 and I think the replacements may be off a series 2. Is that correct. Regards Kevin

Just a quick warning against buying unbranded induction kits or universal ones I saw a very surprising event today, albeit to say it involved a zed that ran perfect at tickover, and when the power was on but like a dog on a trailing accelerator or when on cruise control below 50mph, and cutting out if dropped in to neutral at speed, however would tick over no problem at standstill, cutting it very short the previous owner had fitted a NON BRANDED induction kit the filter was the normal cone shape and looked ok except for been very see through ( metal gauze) on a hunch it was changed for an Apexi one and the problem was completetly erradicated!!!!! even to prove a po…

Hi all, Can anyone tell me where the best place is to drill the exhaust manifold for the EGT gauge sensor? I know it should be close to the turbo, but how close? Is it easier to remove the manifold or can it be drilled in situ? ( with the turbo removed ). Thanks, Ian.

There seem to be a few places to turn to for servicing and repairs these days, but who woul you trust to tune your car. By that I mean extensive work to get reliable, big bhp. I know that MAC is using Nisstech for that car :D But are there any other companies who know how to get solid results? As my car is not selling, I may be forced down another route... ;)

Back in Oct 02, I bought a clutch master cylinder from http://www.mjpauto.com It failed in August 03 so I bought a new one and sent the old one back for investigation. After much toy-waving, Mike managed to get me a full-refund which arrived in my post last week. Not bad for a 2-year old part! One more good reason for buying from a forum trader
