Right then,Z failed MOT on this,is a little to much play in steering wheel,seems its the lower universal knuckle that sites between rack and steering colum,have been told its about 2 hour job by garage and they will do it,but seen as its cost a fair bit for the part i was thinkin to do my self,anyone ever done this, if so would appreciate info,is it easy/or PITA,thanks, Tony :)

Hi, is it worth putting some vents in the front bumper to let the air out after its been the the IC's? There is not much room for the air to exit. I know some bumpers have vent but are they worth it?

ok here goes done a diagnostic check (easy way with piece of wire ) got code 34 (detonation sensor ) read through some threads about this (no wiser ) basically could be anything from electrical contacts to plugs,maybe just sensor fault. can anyone help me prefrably with quick idiot proof ideas ??? :confused:

Hi all, well, after trying some advice kindly given to me by some of you, I have decided to book my car in at Nisstek to find out what this whining noise is in 1st and 2nd gears. Doesn't happen in 3rd, 4th and 5th so not sure what it is. I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with Nisstek in Maldon, Essex? I want to make sure I won't get stitched up as has happened in the past with other cars I've owned. If you have booked yours in with them, what did you do, leave it with them and they call you before they do anything? I'm a bit nervous about this as it's my "first time" booking the 300 in, and I'm scared they're going to find a million things wrong with it…

Just about to start fitting my underdrive pulley and got a little confused. All 3 parts of the pulley are for 4 rib belts, but the power steering belt on the car is 3 rib. Have i got the wrong pulley or can i still fit a 3 rib belt onto the pulley? Any help hugely appreciated.

I think I've got a very ill zed, driving home and I notice some smoke coming past me at traffic lights, stop to investigate and I think I've tracked it down to auto box oil dripping onto the exhaust, found a fair amount on the road after she had been stood for a few minutes and it's red so I think my gearbox is bleeding. Any ideas anybody? I think this one may be beyond my skills so if you read this baggins whats your diary like? The box still seemed to work fine to get me home but I wont be going anywhere for the time being. hopefully whatever has broken I will avoid a box rebuild....

Has anyone got a link to changing the power steering pump? Mine decided to 'let go' on thursday night half way round a roundabout! :eek: Dumped all the fluid on the road too. Having looked at what i can see of the pump, it looks like a b*stard of a job! :mad: Would it be advisable to change the cambelt/ancilleries aswell while i'm down there? Any help much appreciated.....Simon ;)

i have a leaking heater well i think its that as i had water comming into the drivers and passengers foot well. i have taken all the dash out so it is much easier to get to , but i am not sure how to change it,i would be greatful if somebody could supply and fit another heater matrix and put my dash back together for me but the would have to travel to romford essex to do it ,i need it done asap please if you can do this can you please let me know and how much it will cost thanks

I've just got a turbo timer harness and it says it for the z but do i just plug it in from straight out the back of the ignition barrel. Just wondering because the harness doesn't seem to fit there and i was wondering if you fitted it else where before i send it back. Cheers

Am I right in saying that if I fit an A pillar pod, it will affect the alarm setup, as the sensor points up the A pillar? Also, what is the difference between an electronic boost gauge and a mechanical? Is one more reliable than the other? Is one more difficult to connect up? thanks, Kersh.

I am deciding wether to go for a new exhaust at the moment. I have a 93 t/t manual and want a new exhaust obviously but i have heard alot of people saying that once they have changed the exhaust the oil seals on the turbo cause an oil leak and exhaust starts smoking. Is this the case that once ive changed the exhaust to a str8 through my turbo's are gonna be on there way out, cos i dont want smoking of any kind!!! is it best to just leave the exhaust??? Help

Discs and pads are getting close for renewal on the rangey (4.6 litre v8). Was thinking of replacing with standard discs but puting some EBC pads in. Question is green or reds?? Was thinking green but it is a 2.5 tonne car, so should I think about reds?? Any useful ideas appreciated. Nick ;)

Knowbody seems to want to answer this question, when my car hits 135mph or there about my speedo cuts off!! the car continues to smoke the Audi TT's + suped up cozzies but I dont know how fast Im going I guessed that ive hit about 165mph but the car seems to start rocking...so I slow down (sensible guy you see!) but I would love to get this problem soughted so I know exactly how fast my beast is going.

WHEN FITTING A NITOUS SYSTEM TO A 300ZX WILL I NEED TO UPRATE MY INJECTORS? I WILL BE RUNNING AN EXTRA 150BHP WOULD THIS BE SAFE?? ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY OTHER MODS I WILL NEED PRIOR TO FITTING THE WET NO2 KIT? I'm new to air tools and I've just bought an air ratchet wrench from B&Q. However, either I'm using it wrong or it's knackered. With the compressor set to the correct pressure, I can quite easily grap the socket and stop it turning. When I do this, you can hear air rushing out of the bottom of the wrench. Am I doing something wrong or is it bust?
