firstly i'd like to congratulate you all on a very cool website, and secondly i'd like some help or advice?!

After wanting a nissan 300 for years I purchased one recently. The thing is there is a severe vibration coming through both seats, it starts about 30mph and stays up about 80mph! The vibration becomes more apparent under hard acceleration. (although my girlfriend finds it quite pleasant its driving me nuts)any ideas? do they suffer from prop shaft bearing wear?

I dont think its wheel balance and all my tyres are nice and round.

It's a 91 non turbo manual with 60k on the clock, Another question - i'm also replacing the existing stereo with a cd player, i understand the aerial connections are different is there a interface lead available?

Firstley, on behalf of all the members, welcome to our club.

Secondley, yes they do suffer with propshaft vibration, but it would be a good idea to get your wheel balance checked, and also, check that your tyres are still round and not out of shape, as this will cause a nasty vibration.

Thirdley, yes you can buy an adaption lead to convert exsisting stereo leads to ISO connectors, and im sure onee of the traders here would be happy to help you out.

:cool: Well come bud, yep as shunter says Check balancing and if not that then the prop shaft bearings is usually the next thing to think about :( just had mine done and what a differance :dance:

yeh my prop-shaft bearing is on its way out new one going on next week

Welcome mate, as yours is an import it will deffo need a

stereo adaptor, mine was £14. Any good car shop should

have one of these.

As above, the vibrations are from the propshaft, either

the propshaft carrier bushing or the prop itself.

Dont go to a nissan dealer for the parts! Try the traders

on here, Ryan @ ztech is in your neck of the woods.

Might be worth looking at a rear gearbox mount also, doubt it will be but heard it can cause vibrations if it is not as it should be.

does it vibrate if you rev the engine while at standstill? if it does then it may not be propshaft but more engine/ engine mount related

Mine has propshaft vibration, think it was caused by some ginger mechanic lol.
