i had a chip uprgrade put in and for 3 weeks it went well then the detonation sensor cut the boost. it was like that for 2 weeks then he cleared the warning and i went down the road and melted exhaust valve in the front cylinders. he said it was bad luck but when my mechanic started taking it apart he found one of the actuator hoses hanging off. i checked on friends car who he head done the same work and he had put brand new clips on his and the was nothing holding mine on. he now says its because i had bosch platinum plugs so he is not paying up when he said he would. i have spoke to lots of tuners and they say hes talking out of his arse. does anyone have an opinion on…

I know that some of you have had some strange codes before now that have not been in any Z32 write-ups. Here are the maxima's with some of the Z32's. This table may be used as a reference for interpreting your Nissan vehicle's computer messages. If codes other than these are indicated, repeat self-diagnosis. If codes reappear, substitute a known good ECM, and recheck codes. CODE PROBABLE CAUSE for Nissan vehicles 1984 and later. 11 Crank angle sensor/circuit (1988 to 1990); Crankshaft position sensor (1991 to 1996) 12 Air flow Meter/circuit open or shorted 13 Cylinder head temperature sensor(Maxima and 300ZX models); all others coolant temperature …

ive had mig tips fitted, Ive read a few threads about the subject and posts but they talk in 1.2 and 1mm, I was issued with a jwt chip (in which I feel a little suspicious about more of this l8r) three tips were issued 0.6, 0.8, & 1.0. The fella thought it be best to fit the middle one....are the 1.0 tips mean 1mm.. will this give me more boost then the 0.8 or less, at the moment my car runs well and is well quick although Im bored and want more speed!!! Also a quick ? about this chip I was wairy about fitting it, It came with a photo copy of the original instructions from jwt but the chip never had JWT on it just a code number??? is this normal???? Also how do…

Hi, I have just installed 1mm mig tips, and I have NO EXTRA boost. So I took off the pipes completly and of course it ran like a dog, but again no extra boost. This is the same car that I had the trouble with the ECU and a JWT chip. Any ideas please?

Just a quick one. Can anyone out there assist in telling me where the handbrake switch is on my Jap Auto. I've took the centre vent panel off then the gear lever surround panel off. I've got to that point. How much further do i have to go. All im trying to do, is fit a turbo timer in and put the hand brake wire on from the Apexi timer to the switch. A 10 min job is turning into 10 hours (again  )

As the title says, how long to you think an N/A auto gearbox would last. The car is a 1990 import with 50K miles full jap service history & has been well looked after as the cambelt was changed at 35K miles!! It's just I think it's starting to play up?

Right guys i've just imported a 1990 Auto N/A 300 for my mate. The problem is when you do over 100km/h (60ish mph) there is a constant chime/beeping, which is really really annoying! Now is this normal? and if so whats the easiest way to remove it? Also if any of you guru's out there know how to remove the reversing beeper that would be appriciated aswell. Thanks in advance guys Kevin.

Hi all Took the zed to a roling road for the first time last week and it made 230rwhp@5500  I thought this is quite low as i have done; hks induction kit de-cat MINES ecu boost controller running at 13 psi The guy said it was the first time he has put an auto on a rolling road. While on the dyno the left bank was smoking a bit (black smoke) does anyone think this could be O2 sensor problems, AFM problems or just the guy who put the car on the dyno  The printout i got was S**T it only had a graph of the rwhp on it. Any feedback i greatful as i have no idea. cheers Eddie

Hi again! I've seen various Jim Wolf ECU's on the Courtesy website, one for California spec emmissions, the other for federal emmissions. Hs anyone used (either) of these? I'm guessing the Californian spec is lower emmission and presumably leaner. I've heard good things said about these ECU's on here, question also is will they pass the uk emmissions test, or should I keep the old ECU to bung in every 12 months for the MOT? ;) Thanks! Derek

Evening all, havent been here in a while! Finally got around to spending some cash on my z, and I am going to fit adjustable upper arms (and lower tension rods...) The lower rods look easy enough to get at once the undertray is out of the way, but has anyone fitted the upper arms? That bolt at the back, that attaches the arm to the bracket, is there any way it can be removed without unbolting the mounting bracket from the chassis? If not, is that as big a job as it looks? The mounting brackets seem to be bolted onto the chassis, not studded, and I couldn't see how to get a spanner down the side to hold the mounting bracket bolts from turning as the nut is undone…

  24. Stupid I know but if your luggage blind/cover thing doesnt retract all the way i found by pulling the whole unit out, extract about 2ft of the blind and hold it between your knees, take the right hand plastic endcap off (3 small screws) pull it up about an inch, and turn it 2-3 times clockwise (you'll feel the springs tightening) put it all back together and it will now retract with lethal velocity!!!

Hi Guys, I have just got my Z (import) and was wondering if running it on Optimax will be ok or do i need to use octane booster as well? Will it do the engine much damage in the long run or would it be safer to have the ECU re-mapped to run on UK petrol? Should i have it checked out on a rolling road before too long?
