General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I need to respray my front panel and I need to match the paint as close as I can obviously. I have a 1993 model but I am unsure which paint code is correct. Is it Aztec red AG2 or Ultra red AJ4? How do I find out for sure as I think after september 93 it was Ultra red and before that Aztec red. And where can I get the paint? Had a quick look in a smaller halfords store but to no joy. If anyone can help that would be rather grand as I want to get it done tomorrow. Thanks as always. Chris P

Clifford G300 Alarm, keeps bl**dy going off when the temperature drops...and typically always at night when i park it opposite the neighbours... something must be contracting somewhere..anyone got any ideas? Ive already adjusted the sensitivity thing so it aint that..is it? And does ANYONE know anyone who can get turbo timers hooked up with an alarm? cheers, rob

You were parked outside P&A audio shop in Crosby about 12:15 this afternoon, black inport with what looked to be a 99spec spoiler and aftermarket wheels. Nice looking motor, got a few piccys on me fone, hope ya dont mind :dance: Anyone on here? Cheers Dan.

Somebody please help me. :confused: I cant work out why my car is running 5psi. I have checked the ecu and it said that the detonation sensor was playing up so i've cleaned it and i got a code 55 (all clear). Took my car out and still had 5psi. Checked the ecu and still code 55. I had the car in a garage recently and the mechanic said the turbos were fine so I'm stumped. Please help me!!!! :(

i dont seem to be able to find a full ecu pinout diagram ,after changing my ecu today i am only running on 5 cylinders :cry: so can anybody post a link as i know ive seen it before thanks

Hey everyone After taking my Zed for a quick blast up and down the air strip at work, I felt a hell of a lot of heat coming up from under tha car. First time I've felt it cos I was wearing shorts. Frekking cold outside tho! There was a slight burning smell too... Felt the alloys and there were really hot, especially as I'd only been driving for about 10 mins with no hard breaking. Didnt think there'd be that much heat soak through to the wheels. Any ideas guys and gals????! Cheers Andrew

Hi I currently have a jap spec 300zx TT and the headlight has gone, the original bulb had 2 spades, i have read on the forum that i need to create an earth but having bought my replacement bulb from halford it only has one spade is this correct?? Thanks no worries sorted it now :-)

My zed recently decided to present me with a new prob i can drive along in traffic at the usual lack of urgency, but when i try to accelerate slowy the engine completely stalls.if i keep my foot on the gas it kangeroo's until i take my foot off letting it settle, then i can accelerate again. there is also a lack of power when this is happening, it doesn't happen all the time and seems throttle related could it be my throttle sensor? have taken it off and it seemed ok. can anyone help :bow:

anyone know any good places for rear spoilers for the zx, apart from Z Centre?? in the uk ?

I've seen this on other Zeds when looking to buy, so Im guessings its a common problem. At the very top of the Dash, where it meets the Window Air vents the dash has lifted up/come away from where it should sit. I have tried to fix it, but its in a very awkward position and I coud'nt see how to remove the Window air vents. Its not really noticable from inside, but from the outside its ugly, as you can see the brown insulation and undertrim. Has anybody else fixed theirs, and have any tips ?

Anyone know if its easy / hard to put braided hoses all round on the car???

To Mr Duff and Mr Dixon for phone advice on my clutch probs. I know have a gash across my forehead, where I wedged the brake pedal back with my forehead, whilst bending backwards over an electric seat that kept coming forward, crushing me even more, nearly choking on the small torch held in my mouth, so I could see up the footwell to adjust the poxy clutch!!! I had to rip out all the vents to the drivers side and the lower fascia to even see the clutch adjustment. After all that turns out the hose under the gearbox has split. Cheers though - much appreciated help :)

Can anbody who has these fitted to there car give me some help on the wheel nuts. i ordered some "slim" wheelnuts from envy performance who sell Volks wheels but when the arrived they were the same as the ones already fitted to my car for my std wheels. I think they are m12 bolts or something. Can anybody who has aftermarket wheels with tiny holes like volks tell me what is stamped onto the side of the wheelnuts they are using. Cheers Marcus

My 1990 UK model has developed a fault on the Speedo outputs - they tend to cut out, resulting in the speedometer reading zero, the odometer stopping, the wrong output going to the speed sensor etc. I've had someone look at it and measure the outputs - they can't fine the fault...anyway, I've managed to source a replacement UK Speedo cluster. I've been told that to fit this is a doodle (Ha! I've heard THAT one before)....does anyone have experience of this?

Experiencing a strange problem with my newly aquired zed... There is a creaking noise coming from the front Drivers side suspension area, which I can hear quite badly at low speeds (under 30mph). It sounds like a Suspension Spring creaking under load as it travels down the road, but my other guess is some sort of bushing. However the weird part is that the problem is very intemittent, in that it will creak for the whole journey somewhere, but once parked up, and then I make journey back home..it wont do it at all...but next time I drive somewhere it will do it the whole journey again. It even stopped doing it for 2 days before starting again. Does'n…

i am looking for someone to fit a heater matrix in my 300zx i have taken all the dash out so just need to remove the old one put new one in and fit the dash back as i am not sure how it goes back. can you travel to romford essex on staurday or sunday to do it and how much will you need paying please can anyone help as i am going to raffle the car off soon

Anyone have a clue what a tyre fitting place is going to charge to fit a pair of tyres if you buy them elsewhere mail order? Hi All, I want to remove the rotten spoiler from my 1991 UK 2+2 TT, as it is rotten. Can i just remove the spoiler and fit the panel on its own as a direct replacement, or is there some kind of fitting kit? :confused:

I have a Clifford 600 concept alarm on the Z and i don't know if it is causing my problems. The door open light on the dash stays on all the time and my central locking on the passenger door will not work, has to be locked manually. Now I have got in the car and the road angel, which is wired to the car(not through cigarette lighter), is not getting power, my head unit has no power and the warning noise for leaving the lights on is not working.The clifford is giving warning signals that a door is open and it isn't. Please can anyone help with this prob???????????????
