Our guys have been welding frames from 3CR12 steel that I understand is sort of low grade stainless. They use 316 wire and argon co2 gas. You see rust down the edge areas of all the welds. Is that cosmetic and superficial or will it rust through if not painted?

I have been having difficulty fiing the link but was wondering if anyone knows what i am talking about and hopefully the link. cheers

Hi all, I'm a proud owner of my first 300ZX and I'm over the moon with it. But I seem to have bought one with the prop bearing on it's way out as I experience vibration. (I hope that's all it is) Dose anyone have a cheap good prop for sale? It's a Nissan 300ZX Auto Fairlady T-Bar non Turbo import (Year 1991) Also with out spending a furtune what would the most cost effective mod I could do? Thanks for any help offered. Regards, Gerrard My Contact Details: Live in Croydon Surrey Email: gbuckley@hrdb.co.uk Home: 020 8604 8690 Mobile: 07799 072549

I want to keep the car as standard as possible but my rear spoiler is now starting to come away from the boot lid where the Fairlady sign is supposed to be. Is it the frost or excess rain? What can I do to stop it happenning again? The boot lid is really heavy so I know it's full of water. What to do ? Chris

Noticed the orange HiCas dash light was on - never been on before while driving that I can recall. Also the red light with the litle exclamation mark and circle (!) was on too. I wonder if that red light comes on whenever there is a non-engine type of fault - such as a HiCas error. If anyone has an owners manual I would be grateful if they could tell me exactly what the red circle with exclamation mark means. There in no mention of it in the Service/Repair Manuals. Of course I checked the Hicas fluid level (mine has the hydraulic version of HiCas) and that seemed fine. Only thing I can think of is maybe the little float for the level in the HiCas reservoir got…

Just bought my first Z, so I don't know too much about them yet....... On Saturday I drove the car from Essex to Coventry without any problem at all. Tonight, I got home after a 70 mile semi-fast drive and let the engine run for about 10 mins and all was fine (I was learning about the radio while I waited) and switched off. I went back to playing with the radio. About 2 mins later I noticed lots of steam(?) pouring towards the windscreen. I immediately popped the bonnet and went to have a look. The plenum was making a popping and hissing sound and there was a lot of heat being thrown off. There was no indication of this while I was driving. I let the engine cool…

Right for those of you that dont know my heater matrix is broken and is now leaking water through the vents into the drivers compartment - this will be a dash out job next week :( I now have another problem  - we decided to disconnect the matrix and plum the two pipes at the back of the engine into each other - enabling cold air to come through the blowers - and more imoprtantlyly i can drive the car for another week till a new matrix goes in. - after doing this i went for a short spin up the road and when i got back water was peeing down from the back of the engine On closer inspection, there is a pipe on the drivers side back of the plenum, which…

thought i had fixed it WRONG!! car is suffering from a slight miss when idling. ive cleaned up injector connectors (very corroded) thought that might have done it. but its still doing it ive gone over the small vac pipes blocking them off to check for air leaks but found none. had a fiddle with as many leccy plugs that i can find but still no joy HELP im getting pissed off now. car doesnt miss when above 2000-2500 rpm either only really at idle. pulled off the coil lpack leads to see if it was them ..nope but i have noticed its missing from both banks of motor (listened to exhausts) so its something that is generally affecting it not just one bank.. al…

I actually learnt something today. Was looking at a new car in a car audio shop with the big bass boxes being installed in the trunk. They had big vents out to the rear. and no opening to the front - then it hit me! What are these about - yes you guessed it - these boxes have nothing to do with music or rap or street or anything like that - they are there to attract ATTENTION. Pure and simple the big bass beat causes the chicks to look around at where it's coming from. Nothing to do with listening yourself to music - just a chick attracter. Of course the more powerful the better, and best in the trunk so you don't hear it so much and u can think straight. I th…

In need of some more help guys:( I have just spent all morning doing this - http://www.angelfire.com/geek/vg30dett/Cluster/Fix_Cluster.htm to fix my dodgy intermittent odometer. All went well and to plan as far as I noticed but though I better take it out on a test drive to make sure. Guess what?!!! My odometer now does not work atall and to add insult to injury nor does my speedo now  Can anyone please try and shed some light on what I might have done wrong. I do have a little black box to convert the odometer to miles etc. Would it be anything to do with me forgetting to connect it up or anything? (although I am 100% sur…
