Have asked this before but got no replys, What wire behind the speedo do you cut to put a speed converter in line with, the car is a 1990 auto,,,,, :headvswal Someone must know.............Help

Hi There, My newly imported Zed's has an aftermarket steering wheel put on and when I've stripped everything down, found that the horn isn't connected to any wires at all and can't see anything from the wiring loom to give me an indication where to connect. Does anyone know how I can connect it up? I'm not brilliant at electrics so if you can show pictures or tell me the exact couloured wires I'm looking for I will be grateful. Thank you Wayfarer

Hi, just wondered if i could get a gauge of what i should be asking for my Z :cry: . It's '91 on a J Uk spec auto, reasonable condition, 150.000 miles service history missing, JWT chip and Jets oh and Black, suprise suprise. Any help would be greatly accepted.

What exactly is a boost controller? What does it do? I'm guessing it's something to do with controlling boost lol And finally, when is it suitable or advantageous to fit one?

Hey, I have posted recently about wobbling and jerking with the steering, got the balancing and tracking done. Still there!! I have noticed that me steering wheel ain't straight when going straight, it's about 5 degrees to the right, only slight, but you can notice it. Also when I take my hands off the wheel it wants to veer left straight away. What could be causing this. I don't mind how much it costs just want a smooth ride!! It's really horrible especially when cornerning at any speed!! Any ideas would be appreciated! Cheers Jon

I want to change my wheels tonight. I'll (obviously) have to jack up the car. Will it do any harm to do it with the standard jack under the sill? Cheers!

right thinkam getting somewhere with this bloody hicas. have a rear end wobble so have had the car up in the air an there is play in the arms that go in to main body so that 1 sorted new arms. next i have disconnected elec connector coming off the steer fluid pot (brown one) as a thread says this locks the hicas. Car drives better but still get a slight wobble? any1 any idea could it be bushes? cheers

Thanks for your feedback stevemochan about you fitting the pipes. I had a water leak and guess what it was ,a 4" piece of pipe located right above the gearbox .What a bloody job just to replace a small piece of pipe.So took box out replaced clutch while apart (big thankyou to Luke at Zcentre for quick delivery)and decided to decat while under there.Glad I put the short sections that fit directly onto the turbos on before replacing the gearbox because it would have been a BAST**D of a job to say the least.Well chuffed now, running as sweet as a nut and I can only agree with stevemochan the pipes were well worth fitting.(Brilliant finish quality, fit, noticable response &am…

Anyone know where i can Buy some to remove some tiny inturnal circlips? circlips are about 15mm and have tiny holes for the tool. Think maybe 0.9mm tips. Cheers, Mat

Car is running rough up to 2 to 2.5 k on cold start up. I have been pointed in the direction of the o2 sensors. Does anybody have a link with instructions on how to replace them? Any advice welcome. :smw:

Doin a bit of work on the zed next week. Going to be fitting TT discs and calipers, porterfield pads, SS braided brake lines, DTA brake bracket, AVO springs, Smithy fuel lines, SS braided clutch hose. Anybody have any tips that might help me out? Cheers Scott

I've found a kiy at a good price in the States and what I need is general guidance on installation. I assume I remove the front panel, remove the standard filter and fix it in place? Can anyone who has one fitted describe the sound, performance differences? Cheers.

Please can anybody help me fit a pair of BOV's to my car? The goosehonk was getting so loud it was drowning out the stereo, so i got some bailey one to install, but as several will know my mechanical skills are rubbish lol..

How do the power and torque characteristics of the Z's engine actually alter with tuning? Say for example, I popped an induction kit and exhaust on my TT, would it go all top end? or would i still have a nice wide power band?

...altenator packed up, so I thought it was a failed battery. Repalced old battery with a Bosch Silver 64Ah 640A - nearest match to the old one. That promptly went flat, then I suspected the altenator. Sure enough, it's had it's day - not charging at any speed. Bought a new (2nd hand) altenator from AndyZ on Friday. Fitted it, and this ones registers about 13 volt when the engines' running. So, now, I've a faint red glow on the battery warning light that increases with speed. Question is, do I suspect the 2nd hand altenator, or have I bought a battery that's ''too big'' for the altenator? ...any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks in advance Jack

I use my Z for a lot of short journeys, sometimes it will cut just after starting and then run rough, but next time will be ok any sugestions please Markz

Can I remove little areas of corrosion with several grades of abrasive paper, then lacquer over? Has anyone tried? What are the results like? Cheers!

hi guys its now 11.30pm ive been at it for the last two hours trying to remove the manifold so i can polish it, right then ive takin off everything i can see and its lose but only a little bit ? i take it there are a few bolts at the bk of the manifold to undo first before it comes off ??? ? do i need to completly remove the wiring loom off the top of the engine as well ??? please help im going to bed now before i hit some thing i shouldnt do.
