General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Almost finished fitting, just waiting for the new ECU but before i do i need to connect wastegate and intercooler.....they seem to be close together so i need to get this right....has anyone some very clear pictures so i can check which is which?

Ive fallen in love with the 300zx TT manual 2+2 :bow: can u get this in uk model? How reliable are they 4 breaking down? How long do turbos last b4 they need reconditioned + all wheel steering? Any comments appreciated on Cheers Tom :mac1:

I'm having to remove my carbon canister so I can get my A'pexi BOVS plumbed in properly :rolleyes: I've found the TwinTurbo.net article but the hosting for the pics doesn't seem to be working. Does anyone know of any other tech docs for this or have any of their own pics? Even a print of the original article would be great! Any help or advice appreciated! ... Is there any? What I mean is - is there a physical linkage on the oputside of the auto (TT) box that translates the shifter action to a gear selection? Or is it all internal? Being a lazy ass - I could just look under ny car - but it's wet n cold out there... :dance: Cheers guys AndyGP

How big a job is it to change the starter motor.? Anyone any idea how nuch a new one will cost?

This may seem like a dumb question, but if the start signal is missing as my Conzult says it is, should the car start at all? What does this signal do. I supsect that this may be the source of my starting problems in which the starter motor spins and spins and until this morning would eventually fire uo(have replaced the fuel pump to no avail). Which fuse is in line with this signal. The legend on the back of the cover (in english) doen't kake it all clear which one it is.

Morning guys My horn is not working i`ve cheaked the fuses there ok, when the horn is pressed the relay clicks is this normal i`ve cheaked everything! Cheers Ray

After loosing my rear wheel assistance this evening & posting a help thread, I notice in a thread below - some are removing it at will - - WHY--? Without it, the car feels like a MK2 granada! It has no poise, accuracy or fast sharp handling! In fact it feels less than 'medioca'. And when the electronic adjustable rear suspention is actuated (uk cars only) its less than poor!!! On a the track:D, & on the road, its a massive benefit, & in Milton Keynes where theres 134 roundabouts its huge fun seeing your passenger hit there side window, ok it can fry tyres. But I won't be without it for long! So why are some of you taking it off? harve

I was behind a white non turbo j-spec Zed on the m25 heading towards Kent...Around 1pm ish......5/02/2005....Until i floored mine and waved goodbye... :)

I disabled the HICAS on Saturday using the spade connector method (big thanks to Legrath for the idiot guide :) ) - the difference is fantastic! The rear-end feels tighter and I can actually feel how much grip there is now. My question is using this method, is it ok to run the car with the HICAS shorted for a few months until I get a removal bar put in? I'd get one tomorrow, knowing the difference it makes, but a clutch and flywheel have to come first.

my j-spec is a 93 and has a air bag warning sticker under the hood,plus a separate ecu for the same,i wanna know wich part of the dash does this thing exit from as cant work out how it would protect driver iff not fitted in the wheel :( :(

Eve' all, My Hicas light came on this eve' & I lost rear wheel steering & the wheel went very heavy! At the same time my speedo died & the needle hit the pin like a sack of spanners! Stopped at a garage looked at the fluids / fuses etc, all seems fine, very strange coz she's been 110 % reliable for 5 years. What can I look for as a solution :( cheers harve

i spotted 2 zed in ross on wye sat night one red one that stopped to look at my uk spec and my mates j-spec parked up and another black one later on

Got a SS braided clutch hose. Will be fitting it tomorrow. Where does it go and how is it fitted? Really not got a clue! Cheers Scott

Im gonna get a breatheable car cover, maybe a stillen one or covercraft....just wondering because they allow evaporation, do you think you could put the cover on a wet car or are you supposed to dry it off everytime?? Dan :cool:

Im boiling down to the last stage of getting me bits for a rebuild, just deciding on me choice of tubs to put on. my t25's lasted a year after a recon got bord with them. im looking at getting 500rwhp with poss a bit more poke in them, this will be my daily drive, im more interested in faster acceleration than overall top end power. Hi, Sometimes, especially when I am at 30mph or below, the speedo stops working, and then will start again when it feels like it ?? Also sometimes the steering goes heavy, as if there is no power assistance ?? Any help greatly appreciated. Alan.....
