General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I just bought some second hand alloys. They're nice but have little bit of corrosion on the edges of the rim. They look like these rims are removable - they look like they're held on to each wheel with about 12 recessed bolts (maybe so they can be removed and refurbished / replaced if they get curbed??). I took the bolts out but the rim wouldn't come off. I gave it a few bangs with a rubber mallet and tried to lever if off gently with a screwdriver. But it stillwouldn't come off. Any idea how to get them off - the wheels are Oz F1 Cup?? Or do they not come off at all? Cheers gents. :dance:

Is it possible that a AIV in need of cleaning out can produce a chemical, not quite petrolly, smell in the car when idling? I ask because I can't find the source of this problem :cry:

Guys, i had a warning light come on that i aint seen before?, i was doing 70 ish mph and put my foot down to overtake someone (yes i was on a motorway, the M25), and after a few seconds the 3rd light in from the left ( left warning light cluster between handbrake and doors open), came on. I slowed down and after about 5mins the light went out, but the car now runs like crap, it sounds as thought its missing a beat when you accelerate, the light is still off. Have not checked the ECU to see wot it says, but have checked the plugs, all ok. The only mods i have on the car are:- aftermarket air filter (apexi), cat back exhaust, and a turbo timer. Hi all I am picking up my 300ZX on Sunday, tomorrow :-) It is a standard car in manual, 94 (L) I will be wanting to mod it very slightly at first, i.e new wheels and a new exhaust The question is anyone know a good place to get wheels? Im looking for 19 inch, maybe deep dish split rim or similar, also where is a good place to get an exhaust and can people recommend both makes of wheels and exhausts as i know nothing! Hi, I noticed that your sig mentions a Strosek Rear. From the pic it looks like you went with the boot skin only? Do you have more pictures as I am thinking of doing the same, but with a spoiler over the top and I wondered how it might all look. Where did you get your bits? - Direct from Strosek?

hi i have a (2000) nissan primera 1.8se which at the movment drives like 600cc :cry: going up the hill it just slows down like there is no power at all i have changed the plugs, air filter,fuel filter and asked some one to have a look a cat he says its ok :rolleyes: had a computer test done they said the fuel is burning lean? as i have no idea what that means can anyone here help. thank u

well where do i start with this one?? i would like to do away with my pcv breather system has anyone done it on here?? i think but not sure if i remove the pipe from the rocker cover to the turbo inlet pipe, put a filter on the end of the rocker cover and blank off the turbo inlet pipe, :rolleyes: then remove the pcv valves and put a filter in here and blank off the plennum will this work?? i know the system is there as an emissions issue but if i do this then is the crank case still able to breathe?? i would like to try this as my zed is burrning oil, after overrun when i put my foot down again i get a huge puff of blue smoke, so if i remove …

hi gang, wanna know what size boost jets will i need to obtain 12-13psi,thinkin around 1to1.5 or should i start at 1.5 first and see what that gives. and yes ime runnin a mines ecu so fueling should be ok(i hope :rolleyes: )

Hey there. Basically trying to install my JL subs n amp. I'm running the wire from the amp to the battery and basically i don't know where the hole is for it to go from the front into the engine, any1 know? And how did u lot wire yr sound? I'm running my headunit cable from the right hand side to the back n the battery cable along the left, and my ZX is a jap 2+2.

Done an oil change today and the tapping that has come from nowhere yesterday is stiill the same, think now it is time to change the lifters. Anyone know of the best place to get them from and what kind of price im looking at for them, or even if you think the problem is somethink else cant handle a noisey engine for the summer!! :headvswal

Hi all The situation is I'm looking to get a hold of one of these cars. After a long search I have narrowed it down to these 3 motors. Mitsubishi GTO Toyota Supra Nissan 300z The purchased motor will be second hand. My preference is currently the 300z, manual ofcourse. But I'm keeping an open mind. I wanted you guys to note down which is your preference and an un-biased view on all three cars. All help is appreciated. Cheers all.

Really not happy ! :mad: I've sworn by T1-S's for years and just put a set of the new T1-R's on. They're so much less capable then the S's that I've lost confidence in the car. I'm getting wheelspin on standing starts and seriously reduced lateral stability ! I'm yet to play around with the pressures but I'm considering junking these and buying another set of T1-S's while they're still available ! I don't take the Zed out much in the winter but I like to arrive home alive when I do ! Disillusioned of Nottingham

Had this problem the other week but never got as bad as last night. Im obviously running aftermarket HKS cone filter, and taking the car out in the wet causes some bad ass hesitation problems - as the 99spec nose just throws water into the filter. (i was supposed to be making a guard for this last week - didnt get round to it, now im suffering) Im flying down the motorway in the wet, and eventually off down a side road for 5 miles then the car starts spluttering so bad it cuts out. I managed to get it to a car park and left it for about1 hour. When i got back i removed the air filter(it was soaking), put it ontop of the fan and idled the car for about 20 mins to d…

As a new comer to this forum and the zed world I have asked a few questions on here, to hear the reply a few times "USE THE SEARCH" correct me if im wrong but alot of the topics on this forum have been covered on many a date, So if we all used the search what a boring forum this would be also probably a non exsisting one at that. Just to let you know I do know how to use the search but as this world is ever changing I prefer a up to date opinion rather than a post from 2 years or more back. Valve comes off :eek: ...........FOOK,FOOK and triple FOOK. The tyre tyre bloke ripped of the valve whilst ramming his lever in and out. :xxx: Normally they would just put a new valve in but not today they wouldn't. :nono: My allys got the small metal type. So he then says"last time we had to get one of those it took a week to get it" Is he tryin to Fiss me off or what??? Long n short of it is that im now on space saver and will be doin 50mph…
