Hello readers, New owners here. We have just bought a 1990 jap spec auto TT 2+2 and are going to have a million questions. It was an impulse buy and judging by the cars on this site I think we paid over the top but that's history now.......we can only put that down to experience and hope we have a good car. We don't want to do anything too drastic but can anyone give us an idea of the most useful/most common/easiest modifications to make bearing in mind our limited mechanical knowledge? just got back with me mate who has just bught a 300zxtt and on the way back done a standing start you now what i mean when i was realy supprised as mine is a n/a zx300 with apex induction & powerflow exhaust and ther was no or next to no difference to a100 or there abouts :dance: . i felt good but now thinking hes bought a slow one . what do you guys think.

Right...Im getting ECU Error Code34 - Det Sensor circuit (Det sensor or Wiring harness failed) :cry: So..I've decided to bypass it becuase : a. "Most" Det damage is done above 3k, but the stock sensor only works under 3k its usefullness is limited. b. I always run Optimax. (So less likely to ever get Detonation) c. Im on stock boost( So less likely to ever get Detonation) d. I cant afford the massive job of having the det sensor replaced e. Will get it replaced if I ever need an engine out job done. A few months back Jeff gave a tip of how to stop the windows rattling when the doors were shut. Basically, take of the bit of trim on the door pillar and tighten a screw. Anyway, when i done this i was a bit over enthusiastic and shreared the screw right off. :xxx: :slap: . Now when i drive over 80mph the wind starts blowing in. Its nothing serious but just bloody annoying. Any ideas how i can fix this? Cheers Scott

Turbo timer is top of my list at the moment and was looking for some reviews and recommendations from you guys. I have a toad alarm with a full enclosure immobiliser and was wondering if the instalation will cause problems?

Occasionally, when pootling around town I get a chemical / tar / petrol / smell inside the car. Any ideas what it could be? Before you make a comment...humour is about being original. No f@rty jokes! :tongue: :tongue:

Ok, all has been ok with the car, untill T-Pot starts playing... removed my boost jet's today to see what size they were, placed them back in, and now my boost seems all to cock.. at tick over, the gauge used to sit at zero, and now, she drops as soon as started to a minus i'm only running 0.5bar and have not had a problem untill i removed these today... what have i done?

I'm looking into modding the Zed with Lambo Doors. Can you buy the kit for the zed if so where can i get them?? also are they any good?? I was told there isn't a kit for the zed but can modify the universal fitting but does wobble a bit. im unsure what to do. love the look of them but dont want a shoddy fitting or have the doors fly off when i'm driving. Looking for a bit of inspiration really. I'm having a full kit fitted and full respray in the summer, hopefully in time for JAE etc. The kit is all sorted, i just need some ideas for the paint job. The car is black just now and TBH i want to keep it black (or at least mainly black) i just want to do something that will make it stand out a bit, but somehow remaining subtle. Problem is, i dont like the 'jap style' door stickers and i defo dont like big silly fast and the furious graphics. :hurl: I've maybe not left you much to work with there but thats why i'm stuck. Want to fit a eliminator bar-thats the easy bit! I also want to remove the solenoid unit on the inner wing-So the question is- anyone done this using the original pipes or will I need some made up to by-pass the solenoid assy? Oh! and pics would be nice! :D Cheers, Darren.

Grey one down london road Daventry at 5.15pm today,was a Import 2+2 me thinks,then a white import 2+2 with aftermarket 5 spokes,you had your family with you,you were on travelling at the rear of Somerfields supermarket,looked very nice Z mate. Tony :)

Anyone have any ideas on what this could be , the noise only happens when I push the clutch down , only moving from 1st into 2nd and 2nd into 3rd , definately not a grinding noise. Clutch is brand new. Noise sounds like a high to low to high pitched groaning/creaking noise ?????? Any ideas anyone??? Il try to be more descriptive when i drive it later. could release bearing cause this ???

Who would be the best person/place to get an OEM oil filter, sump plug washer and fuel filter. Have tried courtesy, but the cheapest shipping was $137!! for $40 worth of kit :confused: :headvswal Everywhere else i've found will do one part but not the other and i'm ideally looking for a one stop shop :D These are the last bits i need to get my jaloppy up and running so any info would be greatly appreciated by the both us :wack: Cheers Pete

can anyone give me any help or extra advice on removing my manual gearbox . I have read the service manual and if always looks easier on paper than real life , any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

hi converting to manual here are the parts i have so far 11lb segmented flywheel,rps clutch, braided clutchline, gearbox, propshaft, clutch pedal slave cylinder, master,pump plus oil lines (do these circulate the oil or does it run to a cooler) is there any other parts i need will auto crossmember fit manual box :D

Hey guys. Got some sparco wheels on my z and the nuts seem to need some sort of big allen key to get them off coz a socket wont go over them. Is this normal on a z coz ive never seen this before and i dont want to seem stupid but i want to know how to get my wheels off? :confused:
