General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I'm looking into modding the Zed with Lambo Doors. Can you buy the kit for the zed if so where can i get them?? also are they any good?? I was told there isn't a kit for the zed but can modify the universal fitting but does wobble a bit. im unsure what to do. love the look of them but dont want a shoddy fitting or have the doors fly off when i'm driving. What do you think peeps?? help me out here! Cartman

Looking for a bit of inspiration really. I'm having a full kit fitted and full respray in the summer, hopefully in time for JAE etc. The kit is all sorted, i just need some ideas for the paint job. The car is black just now and TBH i want to keep it black (or at least mainly black) i just want to do something that will make it stand out a bit, but somehow remaining subtle. Problem is, i dont like the 'jap style' door stickers and i defo dont like big silly fast and the furious graphics. :hurl: I've maybe not left you much to work with there but thats why i'm stuck. Just hope you guys are a bit more imaginative than i am. Only thing i have thought of is so…

Want to fit a eliminator bar-thats the easy bit! I also want to remove the solenoid unit on the inner wing-So the question is- anyone done this using the original pipes or will I need some made up to by-pass the solenoid assy? Oh! and pics would be nice! :D Cheers, Darren.

Grey one down london road Daventry at 5.15pm today,was a Import 2+2 me thinks,then a white import 2+2 with aftermarket 5 spokes,you had your family with you,you were on travelling at the rear of Somerfields supermarket,looked very nice Z mate. Tony :)

Anyone have any ideas on what this could be , the noise only happens when I push the clutch down , only moving from 1st into 2nd and 2nd into 3rd , definately not a grinding noise. Clutch is brand new. Noise sounds like a high to low to high pitched groaning/creaking noise ?????? Any ideas anyone??? Il try to be more descriptive when i drive it later. could release bearing cause this ???

Who would be the best person/place to get an OEM oil filter, sump plug washer and fuel filter. Have tried courtesy, but the cheapest shipping was $137!! for $40 worth of kit :confused: :headvswal Everywhere else i've found will do one part but not the other and i'm ideally looking for a one stop shop :D These are the last bits i need to get my jaloppy up and running so any info would be greatly appreciated by the both us :wack: Cheers Pete

hi converting to manual here are the parts i have so far 11lb segmented flywheel,rps clutch, braided clutchline, gearbox, propshaft, clutch pedal slave cylinder, master,pump plus oil lines (do these circulate the oil or does it run to a cooler) is there any other parts i need will auto crossmember fit manual box :D

Hey guys. Got some sparco wheels on my z and the nuts seem to need some sort of big allen key to get them off coz a socket wont go over them. Is this normal on a z coz ive never seen this before and i dont want to seem stupid but i want to know how to get my wheels off? :confused:

Hi All. Can anyone tell me why the auto tt makes 280 bhp and the manual makes 300. what is the technical reason for this? does it make any difference when tuning?

Going to buy one of the leather kit off of z centre but not to sure what colours to go for, had some swatches for black, pearl and bone but cant visualise but i know i want black on the outside but what for the middle? Techies please help.... How the hell do i get rid of CASTLEMEDIA and SEARCHMIRACLE from my pc:headvswal I have tried ....Spybot / Noadare / Spydoctor / AVG / Zone Alarm / Spyware blaster / XoftSpy blah blah de blah blah and so on. None of them work... :smash: infact after running severel complete system sweeps and file deletions it only seems to antagonise them and they come back with avengance :( I have heard of them backing themselves up in the system re-boot files so they just re-install themselves. on the way back from scotch corner meet. the car started to vibrate badly when i went over 100mph any suggestions thought maybe hicas,,,prop bearing or bad misfire shat myself,felt like it was going to blow up. does anyone know where i can get it onto a rolling road, to see whats happening if anyone reckons they can work it out by taking a spin with me,i would gladly travel to your place (not too far if poss) :cry:

Can anyone with one of these please tell me, how loud is it? I have been chatting to Luke at Z centre about his brilliant offer - £475 all in and delivered, for either the regular one or the new one with a 6x4 oval each side. Basically I do not want it to be too loud inside the car and definatley don't want a constant "boom" at motorway speeds..... ....your comments please :D Oh and votes on which one looks best - the 6x4 ovals or the quad "stock" look...... As some of you may know my afm broke the other week so i fitted another and thought - surely afms can be repaired ? Is it just a resistor and a thin piece of "fuse" type wire that breaks ? Or is it something stupidly electronic? Thanks for any help - and if anyone wants to send me broken afms id love to see if i can recon them Cheers :mac1:
