General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Just got a nasty surprise while attempting to change a headlamp bulb on my UK Zed. The previous owner has used some odd bulbs and spliced a double spade connector into the loom to connect to them. The bulbs have the sam two notches as the standard halfords type 453 that I was expecting but also have two spade connectors. They also have the marking X1JR on them. Anyone have any ideas what they are and where I can get replacements since halfords are no use for these

Saw a nice looking metallic blue zed crusing around lancasters one way system yesterday. It looked and sounded very nice. I was still half cooked from the night before so didn't see any particular details.

Hurrah! Car hasn't moved for about 7 weeks so I was well pleased. Not a word about the emissions but they did 'remind me' that the front pads are wearing - I know that, it's happens when you put the brakes on ! :slap: Anyway, that'll be an excuse to put my new carbon kevlar Porterfields on then.

Dear Members, I'm a Newbie and joined your forum today as my ZX has just arrived today from Japan. Can anyone advise me on making my vehicle legal for the UK roads. I've been told that it just needs a Foglight with indicated switch and I can then insure the car, send the paperwork to DVLA with £38 for plates and the money for either 6/12 months road tax. Have any of you guys got an N/A with engine mods ? Ive had mine for a couple of months and Im thinking of pulling a few more horses out of it, what are the best (simplest) mods to start with, and what kind of power gains could I expect cheers.

Guys i need help, my No1 coil pack keeps blowing, have put another one in this morning and started the car, within 3 mins the coil pack was red hot and blown, all the rest are fine. HELP. :headvswal :wack: I know someone must be able to help, co's im sure this aint the first time this has happend, i have searched the forum but cant find nothing...

What was going on in Stevenage it was a zed fest the other day! i had one behind me as i got onto the A1 going south, then saw another silver coming back past tescos near the stations and then saw another in the leisure park (and by "leisure" i use the term loosely)

Hi All I just picked up a complete pcv kit (valves and pipes) here in the USA, and the pcv valves, while they are obviously the right part (I checked the diagram on the Concept Z website) are different looking to what I was expecting. My car has 2 rather ugly plastic valves which are falling appart and sit just above the boost hoses by the throttle bodies. I need these two as well as they literally fall in half when you touch them. What are these? When you open them up they have a diaphragm inside and have a hose either side. Obivously my car is in the UK so I can't give any more detail than that... Cheers Derek

can any one help i have a uk spec zx when i bought it the passenger side headlight dip beam was wired into the drivers side so i decided to connect it back up and hey presto dim dip worked but the passenger side headlight sometimes works ok and others it won't work however dim dip always works with no prob so is the problem my dim dip unit or the main light switch? also where is the dim dip unit located? now to my second problem my cruise control won't work it turns on but thats about all it won't set to a speed, when i was poking around under the bonnet the other day i found to round sensors one on each side which take 3 vacuum pipes and have 2 wires plugged into the t…

Hey Mac, Just been reading through a few of the old posts, you mentioned that you live near **************8, do you still live up here, I'm in Richmond, so just around the corner. My rear wipe works just fine, but i cant get it to spray water... i have checked, and cant hear the motor running at all when i try.. I opened the fuse box in the drivers well, only to find it's in chinease, which to be fair, im not very good at lol So, after removing each fuse one by one, none seem to have blown, so any ideas? I dont know why, but this REALLY bothers me like you wont understand

Followed your black G reg ZX this afternoon for a few miles on the M4 and M25. Flashed to say hello.

Ive had a misfire for the past few days - its bloody awful. Checked all the coil packs and it seems to be either the ECU or the ignition amplifier that is the problem. Drivers side front coilpack is recieving no power, ive swapped it to a different plug and it works fine. Could anyone shed any light on this ? I recently wired up the apexi SAFC and one of the small earth pins on the ecu was loose so i replaced it - could this be the problem ? Thanks for any help - as usual - Mike :headvswal

Silver Import at about 11.15am on Welford road going by the prison, Big asain dude driving. and White, Import (i think) at 1.45pm in excactly the same spot, had bigish wheels on!! Was it you!???

Im thinking of an aftermarket momo or something along the lines. Is the 320mm size wheel a good one to get? I think theres a 340 or 360mm too - I dont want one too small that I cant see dials etc :)

Anyone know where I can get a new pair of Goodyear Eagle F1 245/45ZR16? I have tried online Black Circles and a couple of others and they dont have them. Also tried local garages and they want £120 + vat + fitting. Surely I can get them cheaper? Thanks.
