  1. After hearing all the bad things i see on here it might be worth having an independant inspection carried out on a z once you have narrowed down your search. At the very least on top of the usual checks I would now have a comp test done on a Z before I bought one.
  2. yeah , thats why im leaning to the sensible mods way, but you always have this thought in your head "what if " lol, like " what if the missus finds out how much ive spent on this mod "
  3. yeah cause its slightly rich im thinking about advancing the base timing to 16/17 as it makes it more responsive but slightly cacking myself at the thought at what can go wrong.The other switch side is leave as is for that extra margin of safety and continue with sensible engine mods like the z1 side mounts first.
  4. not yet, i had a andy p chip fitted, borrowed a mates wide band fueling checker and its slightly rich at full WOT but im happy with that
  5. 1mm boost jets, first thing in the morning its fine, as the temps rise the boost drops
  6. yeah thats what im getting with mine at the mo, boost is normally 14/15 psi at the mo its now 12/13, dont you love heat soak and high ambient temps.Decided to go for bigger side mounts and a bigger radiator and the nismo thermostat over the winter ready for next summer.

  8. my maf can play up sometimes if a bit of damp gets in it, a lot like the symptoms you are having
  9. run the autobox diagnostics mate for microswitch and sensor probs
  10. whats wrong with tie wraps is what i say, most of my little vacuum hoses in the engine bay have tie wraps on em to stop slippage
  11. cut in half a spanner for easier usage in the tight location

  13. there are some decent priced adjustable units available from the states that have 5 adjustment settings
  14. finding the passenger side one is easy with the battery removed and once you have you know what the drivers side one looks like and location

  18. remove speedo console cover, at the back there should be a little black box with a green wire coming out of it that has a butt connector in it, disconnect the butt connector , et viola
  19. Waste gates can rattle when the spring( wastegate actuator ) returning them to the closed position weakens over the years, its the arm itself rattleing probably as you wouldnt hear the wastegate rattle.

  21. mate i have tried to find the 4.28 version but the only place is a pay for website on driver upgrades, the version 4.38 is the one that doesnt recognise the cables either, if i copy the driver files and their location and mail them to you do you know if you manually place them in their respective file locations will they work?, im willing to try if you want mate
  22. looking at that screenie i would say you took it with the engine not at normal operating temp and your af is lean at idle so i would want to see the o2 sensor info
