  3. starting any car after a period of non running requires some modicom of luck, let alone a engine this complex and old
  4. my mother in law tried that one on us and we told her to go away nicely as it was our wedding not hers and we wanted to keep it under 50 people.
  5. I personally would remove the fuel pump fuse and turn the car over for a bit like that to get it all primed before youre ready to go , then fuse in and good luck
  6. t cut is a pig to polish off its the worst part of using it, I eventually gave up polishing off the t cut and used a cheap wax to remove the t cut and a good wax after on top of it.

  10. wd40 is not a true penetrant fluid, it is a water dispersant, use plus gas for a decent penetrant.

  12. Just to dissagree with the rest of em , you can get a bargain if you look hard enough. Mine cost £2900 and no problems yet ( dear god dont jinx me ) after 7 months of running and upgrading ( i lie, one thing has now happened and that is sticky pcv valves, which aint a world killer), as royal says its the day to day running costs that mount up.
  13. err am i going mad as im sure this was called spiderman returns a minute ago Ill get me coat
  14. if you knew about andy nichols cars you wouldnt be worried, ever heard of a 550bhp maestro doing the scene a few years back, that was his, won fwd totb as well, the 200 is awesome
  15. I mean use a socket extension bar to tap the valves
  16. cut a 19mm spanner in half and use that as u will get better access. The PCV can go in 2 ways apparently, stuck shut which causes pressure build up that can pop your dipstick out , or open which can cause the idle smoke. Quick thing to try is to get a long extension and tap the pcv valve hard to try shock it loose.Worked for mine, then i took em off and cleaned em in a bath of thinners.
  17. another car id wished id poked my eyes out than looked at
  18. just needs some side skirts to make the angled profile look right, nice front look mate
  19. only ever use super , esso supreme or optimax , your car may run ok on unleaded but you never know what your timing is doing whilst you are driving it, you may lose a degree or so of advance without any noticible difference on normal unleaded but i prefer to run on the safe side which is what high octane fuel is about
  20. Candy apple red like C.J's
  21. have you reset the tps portion of the ecu function before resetting your tps or not, might be worth a go
