Anybody understand Hdmi 1.3 and 1.4 cable?
Don't know if it helps but I ran an optical cable from my Onkyo amp in addition to the HDMI 3 cable to my 3D Blu ray player to get full functionality. Not sure how or why it works, but that was the suggested fix as it then gave an additional audio channel.

immobiliser
Look at that while I was typing the Jeff genie appeared

immobiliser
Shouldn't do unless something else has been added In theory if the door is opened then the alarm will go off and the immobiliser will prevent the car being started. If the car is locked and you can't get a key, my low tech solution is break the cheapest window (door glass I reckon) However BEFORE you do that see if you can get hold of Jeff as he will almost certainly know how to get in. You don't want to be trying to force the lock as if you damage the door skin that is a right pain.

immobiliser
I think when they are imported there is some kind of legislation that says they have to be fitted with an alarm so odds on it will have an immobiliser as well. It will be aftermarket so I wouldn't have thought it would be on the key, just a separate fob most likely. Funnily enough Ali's car was exactly like that when I got it - no keys and immobiliser activated. 2 hours of knowledgeable friend later immobiliser and alarm removed and car fired first time. I got a full lock set and a titanium key (which Ali has now bent) for £85 off eBay, took me about 3 hours to change all 4 locks and I had never done them on a Zed before.

For what it's worth worth I think there is a real business opportunity on here with those.

never seen this z on ebay before
It was up for sale briefly just over a year ago, the guy had a much more detailed advert up I think it was up for about £9000. It stressed how he had built it for show not go so there were very few internal mods on the engine. I remember it was in Truro so I reckon it's the same guy. In the original pics I thought it looked pretty nice with the exception of the eyebrows. No idea if I can find the original ad, but I'm going to have a look now

Set of Bilstein Shocks with Springs
Hi Folks I've been tripping over these for a while. Removed from my shortie when I fitted coilovers. All in great condition, a little dirt and a couple of scratches. As near as I can figure from the paperwork I have for my car they have done about 6000 miles. Not sure if they fit a LWB as well, but I'm sure someone will confirm or deny. I'm really not sure what they are worth, I'm putting them up on that well known auction site for £200 and hoping for £150. Let me know if I'm in the ballpark please.

NEC 2016 - Bring your Zed
I think Mondos post is well thought out and extremely well written and very nearly right. - Well I can't agree completely. As a long time annual visitor to the NEC I have seen it evolve and grow massively. It is true that a large percentage of the cars there are classics and either as the manufacturer intended or with a few modifications. However over the last 5 or 6 years I have seen more and more modified and custom cars appear. Guess what? they have all been welcomed with open arms! The show is huge and in my experience you cannot get round it in one day. If you want to spend a day drooling over cars built by a man in a flat cap using Whitworth sockets you can. Equally if you want to spend the day looking sports cars or custom rides you can. It's a car show people for cars! All shapes and sizes! The world would be a sad place if we all like the same thing ( clearly Scarlett Johansson is the exception here) We will always be limited by the size of pitch we have and the members who can commit the time and effort, but we shouldn't be limited by anything else. The cars looked stunning last year and I really enjoyed meeting the guys and had a long chat with Simon. However in my opinion the stand would have looked no less stunning had it had a variation of cars ranging from OEM through custom through Track car. The beauty of our cars is they can be anything so why not show case that. I think we are over thinking this and restraining ourselves by imagined rules. Just enjoy the car Rant over Happy Friday everyone :thumbup1:

NEC 2016 - Bring your Zed
As Mondo is quick to point out a roof scoop is apparently not a tasteful modification or an OEM part (personally I think he's jealous- maybe a birthday present is in order) However I think you'll find it falls into the category of stripes, fake stickers, huge wheels and furry dice. All of which are scientifically proven to make your car go much faster!

Hi all
This might be worth a train ticket for a look http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-NISSAN-300-ZX-TURBO-AUTO-RED-/331749304005?hash=item4d3dcca6c5:g:z4MAAOSwa-dWj2ae I'm sure there will be a forum member up there who could go with you or look if you ask and the car may even be known on here.

What did you do to your zed today?
Hi Ali The boost controller was disconnected when I got the car. The guy said his son had removed the aftermarket gauges for another car and had disconnected and removed part of the boost controller. It wasn't boosting properly when I got it hence the cheap manual boost control. It was a £15 quick fix, I think everything is there for the boost controller, so definitely worth a punt to put it back on.

Performance VH's Z32 VH45DE Build
That is properly nice - well done. I personally think there are two ways to have a Zed, original with a few tasteful mods (and there are some stunning ones like that owned by forum members) or loud and shouty. I am a loud and shouty man and I really like that

What did you do to your zed today?
Very first thing I did with my shortie, bought it and drove it straight to friends performance car garage.

Just had a thought with the sticker. English Grease Monkey + Japanese sticker = numbers put in wrong place. Also I have a feeling Japanese is read left to right, top to bottom. So isn't it likely the boxes are swapped on the Japanese compared to the English one. I reckon you are correct with you assumption that it was 4th year 10th month, but I think the sticker has been filled in incorrectly by an English mechanic.
