What is it?
I think that definitely beats my roof scoop!

Travesty of the scrappage scheme ...
I seem to remember reading somewhere that "Dust to Dust" the most environmentally friendly car is currently the Land Rover Defender, quite simply because so many of them are still going. My understanding is a huge percentage of the pollution associated with a car occurs at manufacture and again at disposal. So keep a car going longer and there is no pollution associated with its disposal and no pollution from the creation of a replacement. As with all of these things its driven by politics and money and we as the individual are just along for the ride. And yes it was me that bought a V8 toy last week!

You are closer thank you think to my reasoning, one of my best friends has a Westfield SEight and he bought it four years ago, suddenly struck me if I'd bought the Dax four years ago I'd own it by now. Always a million reasons not to do something, but if you want something you should make it happen and sometimes it's easy to forget that. Mind you the wife hasn't yet realised there's no more Waitrose and M&S its Lidl and Poundland from now on. Still as they say when it comes to wives "Husbands are always in the s@#t - only the depth varies"- Got to Love Man Maths
Very true I've already set up the direct debit so it will be paid off over the 30 months - 29.9% APR is not friendly- Got to Love Man Maths
Thank you Jeff now it doesn't look like I'm about to fall out :thumbup1:- Got to Love Man Maths
What could possibly go wrong lol I mean its already like having a jet engine in a shoebox, the previous owner turned some mid 3 second 0-60 times and a sub 12 second quarter mile. First gear is pointless as you select it, dab the throttle and half a second later need to change. So clearly its a yes then !- Got to Love Man Maths
Oh yeh if a Mod could rotate the picture I would be grateful, being a luddite I clearly couldn't do it right!:thumbup:- Got to Love Man Maths
Right My Zed now has the forged engine in it and just needs to be mapped - happy days we are getting close. I have missed the explosive acceleration very much (and the sense of trepidation when it's slightly wet and all the hedges seeming to be shouting "pick me" as I drive past) Then I get a letter from my credit card company saying interest free on CASH transfers for 30 months! Well that's free money isn't it! So one 600 mile round trip in a day and I am now the proud owner of something else silly Dyno print out at 305 BHP kerb weight around 600Kgs Rover 4.6 V8 and some very loud exhausts Can you guess what it is yet? Totally different drive to the Zed, very linear power and very very quick. Happy days!- Losing the love with the Z
Wow If I might make a suggestion Si. Whilst your car is definitely one of the best in the club, how much money would you really get for it now? These cars still aren't fetching what they should in my opinion. Do you need to sell the Zed to buy another car or could you just put it into storage and treat as an investment. That way you would keep control of it and all the time and effort you have put into it. I do agree with the guys that you get one go at life and if you are hankering after something else then you should go for it, but if you can keep both I don't think that's a bad idea.- 27 years and running smooth
I'm guessing that me and Ali are banned from this thread - What did you do to your zed today?
I have to ask how old are the Milfs then?- Long term fixer-upper "Smokey"
- I know it's been asked before but at least it's not an oil thread
Thanks Guys A little more than I hoped but on balance as a one time purchase the way to go is spend the money now and do it properly- I know it's been asked before but at least it's not an oil thread
Factor 50 - skin cancer is no joke - I know it's been asked before but at least it's not an oil thread
Right guys D Day is coming Blown engine is out forged engine is going in The engine is capable of about 550BHP so I'm thinking 500 is sensible. While its out a new clutch would be a good idea. The car will be 99% road with the odd speed run any suggestions for a sensible road clutch that I don't need 2 feet to use? Cheers- My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
What are the edges on the opposite tyre like? Are they showing the same dirty edges? If not that wheel has reacted differently to the slight change in size as the pressure increased. I know I'm reaching a bit but trying to think out of the box for you. Something slightly ajar in the suspension might put differing loads on the tyres. The car is anchored in the same position so all of that energy is through the tyre, nothing absorbed by the car or suspension.- My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
Maybe a silly thought but 2 tyres on the same side on the same dyno have you checked the roller carefully for anything on it?- Not sure if I'm impressed or scared!
I can't believe I'm trying to help! You're looking at this the wrong way I think. Look at standard roof bars and then find out which clip fits Yakima Q11 clips apparently! Curse my sideways thinking and dogged nature now every Zed will have a roof rack.- Not sure if I'm impressed or scared!
Imagine coming on boost with your caravan behind you!- What oil
Happy Birthday Alic The oil thing is confusing everybody has their own opinion and there are loads on the market- Not sure if I'm impressed or scared!
- What did you do to your zed today?
:tt2: I can see the garage sign already " Impul Alic -Z specialist in partnership with Hide and Seat"- What did you do to your zed today?
Looking good mate The scary thought is fast forward 15 years and you might be the new go to guy - My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
